Munich. The Oktoberfest countdown in Munich has begun: There are exactly 67 days until the start, and preparations for the world's most famous folk festival are progressing rapidly. Munich's Theresienwiese in 2025: There will be some traffic changes around the Wiesn - also due to the construction of the new railway bridge on Poccistrasse. Because: in exactly 67 days, if we do the math, Mayor Dieter Reiter will tap the first keg of beer. He will present the first liter of Munich Oktoberfest beer to the state's father, Minister-President Markus Söder - according to tradition. Then, from September 20 to October 5, 2024, the celebrations will take place on Munich's Theresienwiese. Munich, with its major breweries such as Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Paulaner, and Spaten, looks forward to welcoming guests and Oktoberfest fans from all over the world. Every year, it is a logistical masterpiece to stage the world's largest folk festival in the Bavarian capital. We'll be following the setup in this blog and posting new impressions here and there! Staying overnight during Oktoberfest 2025 in Munich: OKTOBERFEST Camping - Campers can reserve a spot for €40 per night for two people from September 17 to October 6, 2025 (the link leads to our blog post). The 190th Munich Oktoberfest 2025 will take place on Munich's Theresienwiese for 16 days from September 20 to October 5, 2025.
Every year, at the world's largest folk festival, beers from six Munich breweries and numerous other Bavarian specialties are offered in the nearly 40 festival tents. This year, the Oide Wiesn with its historic rides will be back.
Where we still see a meadow in the following photo, the Oide Wiesn will be set up. ... and then, after the large tents, there will be the many rides and food stalls!
