Beer garden of the "Wirtshaus am Bavariapark"
The Alte Messeplatz is part of Munich's Westend and, as already mentioned, is located on Schwanthalerhöhe, between Theresienhöhe with Bavaria and Schießstättstraße.
An insider tip among Munich residents
In normal times, when the weather is nice, the beer garden of the "Wirtshaus am Bavariapark" is considered an insider tip among Munich residents.
Located directly on the park, its 850 seats and Augustiner beer, as well as its waitress and self-service areas, invite you to linger.
A great playground for children and a large playground nearby round out the offerings.
Bavaria Park was once called "Theresienhain"
And a bit more history:
The planting and layout of Bavaria Park was commissioned by King Ludwig I between 1825 and 1831 as the "Theresienhain." His court gardener, Seitz, planted the park with oak trees.
Those who exercise here at a safe distance can discover, among other things, a bronze stag and two bronze horses.
