Automotive Tip: A New Exhibition Area at the ZeitHaus Dedicated to the Bugatti Myth
Visitors can now experience the Bugatti myth at the ZeitHaus – Wolfsburg's Autostadt opens a new exhibition area.

Wolfsburg – Autostadt in Wolfsburg is expanding its collection with vehicles and exhibits from the Bugatti brand. We fondly remember the 1990s: those were the days when, alongside numerous new VW models, a different Bugatti was always on display at the Autostadt in Berlin. Now we can admire all the models in Wolfsburg, because: the ZeitHaus in Wolfsburg has expanded its collection with several new additions, including prototypes and test vehicles from the era when Bugatti was part of the Volkswagen Group. With this exhibition, Autostadt highlights a significant chapter in automotive history, one that Bugatti wrote with its super sports cars! Visitors can now experience Bugatti's super models firsthand. The new "Mythos Bugatti" exhibition can be visited daily during Autostadt's opening hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a valid day or annual pass. This is also a great tip for motorsport enthusiasts and Bugatti fans who want to enjoy a wonderful day out with their families during the Autostadt's Winter Wonderland.

A new exhibition area at the ZeitHaus, dedicated to the Bugatti myth, builds upon the permanent exhibition "Relationship Boxes" and adopts its core principle:
Automobiles tell stories in pairs and trios. Five themed islands now showcase Bugatti vehicles – some with obvious, others surprising commonalities. This creates connections that reveal technical and design links, making the development of the Bugatti brand within the Volkswagen Group comprehensible for visitors.
The Vision
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Bugatti EB 118 (1998)
with its 18-cylinder engine, embodies the first concrete vision for the brand's revival within the Volkswagen Group. Complementing this is the engine of the EB 218 – which formed the technical basis for subsequent production models.
Concept Cars
The creation of the Veyron is on display here:
Two design models from 1999 document the journey from concept to true supercar. The first model is by Hartmut Warkuß and Jozef Kabaň, the second by Walter de Silva. Both showcase different approaches from renowned vehicle designers and illustrate how the vision gradually evolved into an automotive milestone.
Roadster
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse (2012)
was the fastest convertible of its time and embodies the Bugatti DNA: technical perfection, extreme performance, and unparalleled exclusivity. On the Roadster Island, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is presented in two versions – one with a hardtop and one as an open-top.
Special Edition
With the Divo (2019) and the Centodieci (2021), Bugatti presented two exclusive limited-edition models.
The Divo was designed for maximum cornering performance, featuring optimized aerodynamics and reduced weight.
The Centodieci was inspired by the design DNA of the legendary Bugatti EB 110, produced between 1991 and 1995.
Achim Anscheidt, who shaped the brand's style for over 19 years, was responsible for this reinterpretation.
World Record Car
The Bugatti Chiron WRC 300+ (2019) was the first production car in the world to reach a speed of over 300 mph (482 km/h) – literally a milestone in automotive history.
With a top speed of over 490 km/h, the record-breaking vehicle set a benchmark for internal combustion engines that still stands today. This themed area is complemented by the W16 engine – the central element of this record.
The ZeitHaus in Wolfsburg
can be visited daily during Autostadt's opening hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a valid day or annual pass.
