OKTOBERFEST - Bavaria - Munich - Beer Day. The breweries are at the big Munich Oktoberfest (Sat., Sept. 21, 2024 – Sun., Oct. 6, 2024) ... ... So off to Munich! - the beautiful city with its beer festivals is always worth a trip... All you can say again and again is: a warm welcome to the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Munich...
or as the Bavarian in the beer tent says to the tourists: "Sit down
here , then there are more of us!" ... The barley juice flows like
“gold” into the glass “safes”. A wonderfully golden wheat beer and a
cool light beer... Investing in beer is always a safe investment for the
enjoyment of your palate...
April 23rd is traditionally an important day for all breweries, as the Purity Law was passed in Ingolstadt on this day in 1516
Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria demanded that from now on only water, hops, malt and yeast should be used for brewing beer. That was supposed to change a lot and even prohibit adulteration of the popular drink to this day. Fly agaric or intoxicating datura and other coloring ingredients were now forbidden in beer!
To date, only these four ingredients are approved for German beer
... apart from water, malt, hops and yeast, nothing is allowed in the brewing kettle. And you don't have to point out that when it comes to beer: "without colorings, preservatives or even flavor enhancers"!

The lederhosen were also a quality testing tool: a bench was smeared with beer and the “beer testers” stayed on it for up to three hours. At the command “UP” everyone jumped up.
If the bench stuck, the beer passed. Otherwise the brewer would face a penalty.

Today there are over 6,000 beers of different types in Germany - but brewed according to a purity law
The taste differences are based on our own recipe, which means:
- which brewing water is used,
- which grain was processed and how
- and of course every brewery looks for the different hop aromas.
Yes, a good brewmaster can make a difference to his fans! Word gets around quickly about a good variety.

Beer as a German cultural asset
Traditionally,
“German Beer Day” is celebrated by breweries with festivals, early
