The Munich Oktoberfest starts in about a quarter of an hour. The Oktoberfest hosts are currently on their way to Theresienwiese with their brewery teams. The parade started at 10:45 a.m. with the Oktobefest beer on Josephspitalstrasse. There are onlookers waiting everywhere and the run to the best campsites started on the Theresienwiese, where admission opened at 9 a.m. - Non-alcoholic drinks (except beer) are served from 10 a.m. and at 12 p.m. sharp the motto is “Ozapft is!” and the golden barley juice flows in all the tents and beer gardens! - Prime Minister Markus Söder with his wife Karin Baumüller-Söder, the Mayor of Munich Dieter Reiter and his wife Petra Reiter and the Munich economic officer Clemens Baumgärtner will be present at the traditional tapping. When Mayor Dieter Reiter has tapped the first barrel, he announces the opening of the Oktoberfest and presents the first beer to the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder.

How do you get to Oktoberfest in Munich?

It's best to take public transport

  •     U4/U5: the stops Theresienwiese and Schwanthalerhöhe are directly at the Oktoberfest
  •     U4/U5 or S-Bahn S7 / S20 - this is the best way to get to Heimeranplatz
  •     U3/U6: go to Goetheplatz and Poccistraße (near the entrance to the Oidn Wiesn
  •     S-Bahn: the Hackerbrücke is best for people from the surrounding area!

The opening hours at Oktoberfest 2024:



All beer tents, stalls and great rides will be open on Theresienwiese from September 21st to October 6th, 2024.

        Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m
        Fridays and Wednesday, October 2nd: 10 a.m. to midnight
        Saturday: 9 a.m. to midnight
        Sunday: 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m

The opening times of the Oiden Wiesn (with admission):


  •         Sunday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m
  •         Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m. to midnight
