“There is a Hofbräuhaus in Munich”! If you haven't seen the most famous inn in the world, you don't know Munich! A must for visitors to Munich from all over the world are: 1. The Hofbräuhaus on Platzl, 2. the strong beer festival in the Hofbräukeller on Wiener Platz and 3. the Hofbräufest tent at the Munich Oktoberfest

Munich. The famous Hofbräuhaus is located in the heart of Munich's old town on the Platzl directly opposite the "Hard Rock Cafe Munich". From Marienplatz you can get there in 4 minutes. In the Hofbräuhaus you can find live music and tradition every day. Entry is free! The inner courtyard of the Hofbräuhaus is an insider tip on warm days!!! With hours of cozy live music, which has a special aura especially in the evenings, there are famous Munich delicacies, hearty Bavarian dishes, but also Bavarian vegetarian dishes, Steckerlfisch and, from the end of September, the specially brewed Hofbräu Oktoberfest beer 2025! For souvenirs for those staying at home and of course for all HB fans, there is a "Hofbräuhaus fan shop" with souvenirs: glasses, mugs, clothing from the Hofbräuhaus collection and accessories. Important Hofbräu dates for fans: Monday, March 3rd is Rose Monday at the Hofbräuhaus (address - see below): Traditionally, Rose Monday white sausages are available here for €1 each (while stocks last)! And from Friday, March 14th to Saturday, March 15th, 2025, the strong beer festival will be celebrated in the famous Hofbräukeller: Bavarian beer connoisseurs are already looking forward to the freshly brewed, strongest beer among the bock beers: the Doppelbock "Hofbräu Delicator" (address - see below). The Staatliches Hofbräuhaus brewery in Munich belongs to the Free State of Bavaria.

If you don't know Munich yet, you should definitely visit the attraction, the "Hofbräuhaus" on Platzl, founded in 1589!

 And don't worry, there's enough space:

•     Around 3,000 visitors can be entertained indoors
•     There are up to 400 seats around the fountain in the cozy beer garden

• The Hofbräu Strong Beer Festival will soon take place here from Friday, March 14th to Saturday, March 15th, 2025

 

The strong beer festival is celebrated for the second time in the famous Hofbräukeller. Doors open at 6 p.m. before the party begins at 7 p.m. until midnight. The famous ballroom on the 1st floor of the Hofbräukeller tempts you with the “Hofbräu Delicator” – the strong beer highlight of the master brewers from Munich! By the way, the dark Doppelbock will be the strongest beer among the Bock beers this year and will have an alcohol content of 8.4% vol. and, as the beer sommelier noted: this year it will flow into the beer mugs with a beautiful dark brown color and delight the throat with its spicy, strong and malty taste.  

There are 450 seats on the ground floor and, in Munich beer garden weather, another 1,750 seats outside.

Groups can reserve tables for the strong beer festival on March 14th and 15th, 2025 on the upper floor

•     The price includes half a liter of strong beer per person

Before the big Munich Oktoberfest starts on the Theresienwiese, the press is allowed to take a tour of the tents every year and this is how the following photo was taken, which shows Bavaria in the background.

Maxl Graf wrote the famous song "There is a Hofbräuhaus in Munich",
