Munich. It all starts on June 12th, 2024 with the FAN FEST for EURO 2024 - an opening concert by Ed Sheeran, Dylan, Nelly Furtado and Mark Forster on Munich's Theresienwiese (article in this blog) ... The football festival starts on June 14th, 2024. European Championship in the “Munich Football Arena” in Munich: it all starts with the opening game between Germany and Scotland on Friday, June 14, 2024 (at 9 p.m.). The “Allianz Arena” will be renamed the “Munich Football Arena” during EURO 2024. With a total of 66,026 seats, many fans of both teams are expected here. During the games, fans cannot drive into the city - they have to park outside at S-Bahn connections and take the train or bus to the stadium. We expect 5 more matches in the Bavarian capital. The German team will also play in the preliminary round against Hungary in Stuttgart (Wednesday, June 19th at 6 p.m.) and Switzerland in Frankfurt (Sunday, June 23rd at 9 p.m.). The largest fan mile will be in Berlin. Here, behind the Brandenburg Gate, which is being converted into the largest football goal in the world, 24,000 square meters of artificial turf have already been rolled out - the plastic surface, which is not necessarily natural, will be distributed to daycare centers, golf courses and so on after the World Cup for continued use.
