A discussion of the arts! MUSEUM FRIEDER BURDA - Friday, May 17, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m
What is future? The Frieder Burda Museum, as an art institution in discussion with the sciences
ON THE TRACES OF THE IMPOSSIBLE in the exhibition ImPOSSIBLE - an evening dedicated to art, science, music, literature and theater
BADEN-BADEN. On May 17th, extreme mountaineers, musicians, environmental scientists and social researchers will discuss questions about the individual, social and planetary boundaries in our time - our dimension. The question discussed is: If the future is today, then what is tomorrow? The concept for the evening was devised by Ingolf Baur, TV presenter, and Mattes Herre, actor at the Theater Baden-Baden.

The event takes place within the current exhibition ImPOSSIBLE
"Spaceship Earth - a journey to the limits of humanity. How would the inhabitants of another planet look at the Earth? Humanity has already exceeded six of nine planetary boundaries. The biosphere is destabilized, at the same time the pressure of global processes continues to grow: life has become risky, is humanity facing a bottleneck in its development history? What impulses does it need to get back on track?
One thing is clear: the future of our civilization depends on precise knowledge of its limits: where are they, which can be moved, what is IMPOSSIBLE? A cross-genre walk through the exhibition in the Burda Museum maps the boundaries of human activity and its opportunities: Who are we? Who do we want to become? And to what limits are we prepared to go?" (Press release from May 8th - Museum Frieder Burda)
