Chief roadie and photographer Peter Hince from London has already written two books about his life with Queen. Freddie Mercury felt very comfortable in Munich!

London - Munich. From the opening act of "Mott The Hoople" to the most successful rock band of all time - Peter Hince accompanied QUEEN for over 10 years and many front and backstage photographs were taken. Peter Hince was head roadie for Freddie Mercury and experienced a "hot time" in the truest sense with the band QUEEN! The author experienced how Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon wrote rock history together with Freddie Mercury, the legendary frontman, lead singer and composer of QUEEN, partying the night away in Munich nightclubs and so on... Reading his books is impressive and entertaining and exciting. ...For example, Freddie Mercury's apartment in Munich's Glockenbachviertel was legendary. Because: Freddie felt comfortable in Munich, here he could go for walks and party unmolested. In 2015 his book "Queen intim. Groupies, Gin and Glitter - On Tour with Queen" was published on the German Book Market, which is highly recommended at this point. And in 2023 the next book "Queen up close - never-before-seen photos, rarities and fascinating insights into the life of the rock band" by Peter Hince was published. With many never-before-seen photos and memorabilia, Queen Uncovered (the English edition) is a must for Queen fans.

The photos of “Queen” in Munich

Peter Hince's paperback contains exclusive photos of the band and allows a very personal insight behind the band's scenes.

With around 320 million records sold, QUEEN is probably one of the most successful and popular rock bands of all time. Peter Hince first met the group in 1973; At that time they were the opening act for the band "Mott The Hoople" and it took less than two years until he went on tour with QUEEN as head roadie.
In 2015, Peter Hince's book "Queen intimate. Groupies, Gin and Glitter - On Tour with Queen" was published on the German Book Market

In the "Galerie Stephen Hoffman - Fine Art Photography" in Prannerstrasse at the back of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, the original and signed collector's photographs by Peter Hince are shown and offered for sale.

It is an experience to see these recordings with Freddie and Queen as original prints.

“Queen unseen” is a must-read for Queen fans

Anyone who grew up with the music of the seventies and eighties has experienced those moments when a new single or LP came onto the market. People were looking forward to the concerts and many people still have those tickets today, the ones that meant freedom back then - at least for the duration of a concert. A contemporary document.

Peter Hince: ‘Queen uncovered’ – Original Photographs (ENGLISH)

"Queen up close - never-before-seen photos, rarities and fascinating insights into the life of the rock band" is the name of Peter Hince's new book. Featuring many never-before-seen photos and memorabilia, Queen Uncovered is a treasure trove of amazing content from the personal archive of former Queen's roadie and renowned writer Peter Hince. His collection of photographs and ephemera from personal and public moments is published here for the first time.  It is a illustrated and documented book, a unique photographic shot of one of the most famous rock bands of all time.

From the concerts in Munich to Japan, Hince accompanies Queen from the studio to the street to the stage. Facsimiles of handwritten notes from recording sessions, photos of the band in the studio, images of cassette tapes given to Hince for his club debut, Freddie Mercury with and without a moustache. . . The list goes on.

In addition to many candid moments, there are great photos of the various items collected from more than a decade of touring: backstage passes, matchbooks, set lists and more...

Peter Hince got close to QUEEN on a daily basis

Freddie - or rather, "Fred", as Hince called him in the book, often had his "legendary outbursts of temper" and Hince, who everyone called "Ratty", always came up with something to counteract this. In the book "Queen Intim" he lets the reader experience his everyday life at "Queen" and tells in easy reading what it was really like for him.

Tantrums and swapping guitars: That's what it was really like on tour with Queen

For more than ten years, Peter Hince toured the world with Queen and experienced "Sex, Drugs & Rock'n'Roll". On and behind the stage, in the recording studio or at a lavish party in a Munich bar. As head of the road crew, he was responsible for ensuring that Freddie Mercury was able to deliver his phenomenal performances again and again. Those legendary performances that many still remember today - it wasn't just the technical support that was in demand, but often also his psychological support.

Peter Hince witnessed Freddie composing "Crazy Little Thing Of Love" in the bathtub and calling for his guitar in a suite at the Munich Hilton Hotel. The hotel where the band played football in the lobby one night after a lavish party.
