Traditional Munich Oktoberfest romance in festive costumes and hearty music are reminiscent of historical festival times. In February, the Deutsches Theater will become the large “ball hall of the city of Munich”. Carnival has been celebrated here for over a hundred years. The balls in the German Theater are cult and also elegant in traditional costume. Now the dance or carnival ball season begins with the “Oide Wiesn Bürgerball”. The Oide Wiesn Citizens' Ball offers a small foretaste of Oktoberfest 2025. There is a ball program full of Bavarian tradition: Of course, the dress code “Tracht” is expected. The “Oide Wiesn Citizens’ Ball” in the Deutsches Theater has been held as the opening ball since 2014 by the organizer “Festring München e. V.” carried out.


“A ball for everyone who is involved in the Oktoberfest and for everyone who loves the tradition and flair of the Oktoberfest and especially the Oiden Wiesn,” is how Karl-Heinz Knoll, the president of the Festring (the association for the preservation of the Munich as well as Bavarian customs).

 Different rooms of the German Theater will be used in which music groups will perform. In addition to Bavarian brass music, there is new Bavarian music and so-called Heurigen music.

Of course, the hit should not be missing from traditional dance music.

As a guest of the ball you can experience a colorful program, stroll and celebrate in all rooms.

Trachtler, Schuhplattler or Goaßl-Schnoizern set the mood. And there are even dance leaders who rehearse the folk dances for everyone on site.
