Munich. Cette année, Marilyn Monroe — née Norma Jeane (1er juin 1926 – 4 août 1962) — aurait célébré son 100e anniversaire. Pour marquer l'événement, la Galerie Stephen Hoffman – Fine Art Photography, située au cœur du centre-ville de Munich, expose des photographies originales, signées et en édition limitée, réalisées par d'éminents photographes : Lawrence Schiller (*1936), Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022), Milton H. Greene (1920–1985), André de Dienes (1913–1985) et Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023). À travers leurs tirages emblématiques, ces artistes ont façonné l'image publique de Marilyn Monroe — une image qui perdure encore aujourd'hui. Les photographies présentées dans l'exposition ont été réalisées en studio, sur des plateaux de tournage ainsi que dans la sphère privée de cette actrice de légende, saisissant MM selon le style distinct et la perspective unique de chaque photographe.

Lawrence Schiller (*1936)

Lawrence Schiller est le seul photographe de Marilyn Monroe encore en vie. Lawrence Schiller a immortalisé l'image « Marilyn Monroe dans le film *Something’s Got to Give* » à Los Angeles, en Californie, en 1962, créant ainsi une icône de l'art photographique. Divers clichés dépeignent MM au bord de la piscine, et le spectateur peut presque sentir que le photographe jouissait de la confiance absolue de Marilyn Monroe.
La conversation enregistrée de Schiller avec Marilyn Monroe — qui documente cette période — est devenue légendaire : « Tu es déjà célèbre. Maintenant, tu vas rendre *moi* célèbre », dit le photographe Lawrence Schiller à Marilyn Monroe alors qu'ils discutaient des photographies qu'il s'apprêtait à réaliser d'elle. « Ne sois pas si prétentieux », le taquina Marilyn ; « les photographes sont facilement remplaçables. » C'était en 1962 ; Schiller, alors âgé de 25 ans, se trouvait à Hollywood en reportage pour *Paris Match* afin de photographier Marilyn sur le tournage de son nouveau film, *Something’s Got to Give*. Il connaissait déjà Marilyn — les deux s'étaient rencontrés lors du tournage de *Let’s Make Love* — mais rien au monde n'aurait pu le préparer au jour où, au cours des séances de tournage alors en cours, elle se présenta nue au bord de la piscine. « …Sa peau mouillée scintillait. Ses yeux étincelaient. Son sourire était séducteur », se rappela Schiller à propos de ce moment qui allait donner un élan majeur à sa carrière, tout en assurant à Marilyn les gros titres et les couvertures de magazines qu'elle espérait. Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022)

En 1961, Marilyn Monroe posa pour lui en studio, drapée sous un drap de soie blanche. Pour le magazine *LOOK*, Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022) passa une nuit en studio avec Marilyn, saisissant la star d'une manière si naturelle — et avec une telle intimité personnelle — qu'elle n'avait jamais été photographiée ainsi auparavant. Dans son livre *A Night with Marilyn*, le photographe relate sa première rencontre personnelle avec la star. Elle s'avéra être la « soirée la plus mémorable » de sa vie. C'est Marilyn elle-même qui dicta la manière dont elle souhaitait poser — une méthode qui s'accordait parfaitement avec l'approche de Douglas Kirkland. Milton H. Greene (1920–1985)

Greene fut un ami proche et un confident de Marilyn Monroe entre 1953 et 1957 ; il lui insuffla la confiance en soi nécessaire pour défier les tout-puissants studios hollywoodiens et tracer sa propre voie. Ce lien fut renforcé par le fait que Greene — contrairement à tout autre photographe — entretenait un contact quasi constant avec Marilyn. Ses photographies de « MM » devinrent des icônes de l'art photographique, valant à Milton H. Greene de nombreux prix, médailles, honneurs et distinctions, tant au niveau national qu'international — notamment ceux décernés par l'American Institute of Graphic Arts et l'Art Directors Club. En 1999, le magazine *TIME* désigna la célèbre photographie « Ballerina Sitting » — réalisée dans le studio de Milton H. Greene — comme l'une des trois plus grandes photographies du XXe siècle.

André de Dienes (1913–1985)

Un agent présenta André de Dienes à une jeune femme de 19 ans : Norma Jeane Dougherty — la future Marilyn Monroe. De Dienes reconnut en elle une authentique fraîcheur juvénile, un photogénisme inné et un sex-appeal indéniable. André de Dienes engagea immédiatement la blonde beauté pour un travail de mannequinat. — Les premières photographies de la jeune MM réalisées par De Dienes sont présentées dans l'exposition.

Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023)

En 1960, en tant que photographe de l'agence Magnum, Elliott Erwitt a documenté Marilyn Monroe durant le tournage du film *Les Désaxés* (The Misfits) à Reno, dans le Nevada. C'est à ce titre de photographe Magnum qu'il a immortalisé MM sur le plateau — la saisissant parfois dans des moments privés, intimes et détendus. Sa photographie intitulée *The Misfits* représente Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift, Eli Wallach, le réalisateur John Huston et le scénariste Arthur Miller lors d'une pause sur le tournage.

Monaco. Quest'anno, Marilyn Monroe — nata Norma Jeane (1° giugno 1926 – 4 agosto 1962) — avrebbe festeggiato il suo 100° compleanno. Per celebrare l'occasione, la Galerie Stephen Hoffman – Fine Art Photography, situata nel centro di Monaco, espone fotografie originali, firmate e in edizione limitata, realizzate da fotografi di spicco: Lawrence Schiller (*1936), Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022), Milton H. Greene (1920–1985), André de Dienes (1913–1985) ed Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023). Attraverso le loro stampe iconiche, questi artisti hanno plasmato l'immagine pubblica di Marilyn Monroe, un'immagine che perdura ancora oggi. Lawrence Schiller (*1936)

Lawrence Schiller è l'unico fotografo di Marilyn Monroe ancora in vita. Lawrence Schiller immortalò l'immagine "Marilyn Monroe nel film *Something’s Got to Give*" a Los Angeles, CA, nel 1962, creando così un'icona dell'arte fotografica. Vari scatti ritraggono MM a bordo piscina, e l'osservatore può quasi percepire che il fotografo godesse dell'assoluta fiducia di Marilyn Monroe.
La conversazione registrata da Schiller con Marilyn Monroe — che documenta questo periodo — è diventata leggendaria: "Sei già famosa. Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022)

Nel 1961, Marilyn Monroe posò per lui in uno studio, avvolta in un lenzuolo di seta bianca. Munich. This year, Marilyn Monroe—born Norma Jeane (June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962)—would have celebrated her 100th birthday. To mark this occasion, Galerie Stephen Hoffman – Fine Art Photography, located in Munich’s city center, is exhibiting signed, limited-edition original photographs by prominent photographers: Lawrence Schiller (*1936), Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022), Milton H. Greene (1920–1985), André de Dienes (1913–1985), and Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023). Through their iconic prints, these artists have shaped the public image of Marilyn Monroe—an image that endures to this day. The photographs featured in the exhibition were taken in studios, on film sets, and within the private sphere of this legendary actress, capturing MM in the distinct style and from the unique perspective of each respective photographer.

Lawrence Schiller (*1936)

Lawrence Schiller is the only surviving photographer of Marilyn Monroe. Lawrence Schiller captured the image "Marilyn Monroe in the film *Something’s Got to Give*" in Los Angeles, CA, in 1962, thereby creating an icon of photographic art. Various shots depict MM by the pool, and the viewer can practically sense that the photographer enjoyed Marilyn Monroe’s absolute trust.
Schiller’s recorded conversation with Marilyn Monroe—which documents this period—has become legendary: "You’re already famous. Now you’re going to make *me* famous," photographer Lawrence Schiller told Marilyn Monroe as they discussed the photographs he was about to take of her. "Don’t be so conceited," Marilyn teased him; "photographers are easily replaced." That was in 1962; the 25-year-old Schiller was in Hollywood on assignment for *Paris Match* to photograph Marilyn on the set of her new film, *Something’s Got to Give*. He already knew Marilyn—the two had met during the filming of *Let’s Make Love*—but nothing in the world could have prepared him for the day, during the filming sessions then underway, when she presented herself nude by the swimming pool. "…Her wet skin glistened. Her eyes sparkled. Her smile was seductive," Schiller recalled of the moment that would serve as a major career boost for him, while securing for Marilyn the headlines and magazine covers she had hoped for. (Cf. Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022)

In 1961, Marilyn Monroe posed for him in a studio, draped beneath a white silk sheet. For *LOOK* magazine, Douglas Kirkland (1934–2022) spent a night in the studio with Marilyn, capturing Monroe in a manner so natural—and with such personal intimacy—that she had never been photographed before. In his book *A Night with Marilyn*, the photographer recounts his first personal encounter with the star. It proved to be the "most memorable evening" of his life. Marilyn herself dictated how she wished to pose—a method that aligned perfectly with Douglas Kirkland’s own approach. He photographed celebrities as they chose to present themselves: in a deeply personal and intimate light.

Milton H. Greene (1920–1985)

Greene was a close friend and confidant to Marilyn Monroe between 1953 and 1957; he instilled in her the self-confidence to challenge the all-powerful Hollywood studios and to forge her own path. This bond was fostered by the fact that Greene—unlike any other photographer—maintained almost constant contact with Marilyn. His photographs of "MM" became icons of photographic art, earning Milton H. Greene numerous national and international awards, medals, honors, and distinctions—including those from the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Art Directors Club. In 1999, *TIME* magazine named the famous "Ballerina Sitting"—captured in Milton H. Greene’s studio—as one of the top three photographs of the 20th century.

André de Dienes (1913–1985)

An agent introduced André de Dienes to a 19-year-old young woman: Norma Jeane Dougherty—the future Marilyn Monroe. De Dienes recognized her genuine youthful freshness, her innate photogenic quality, and her sex appeal. André de Dienes immediately hired the blonde beauty for a modeling job. — De Dienes’s early photographs of the young MM are on display in the exhibition.

Elliott Erwitt (1928–2023)

In 1960, as a Magnum photographer, Elliott Erwitt documented Marilyn Monroe during the filming of *The Misfits* in Reno, Nevada. In his capacity as a Magnum photographer, he documented MM on set—at times capturing her in intimate and relaxed, private moments. His photograph *The Misfits* depicts Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift, Eli Wallach, director John Huston, and screenwriter Arthur Miller during a break in filming.

Monaco di Baviera. Il 50° Ballo del cinema tedesco si terrà questa sera, 24 gennaio 2026, all'Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Dopo la ristrutturazione dello scorso inverno, il principale hotel della città offre un'atmosfera straordinaria, moderna e festosa per questo ballo per l'anniversario. Ieri, i Bavarian Film Awards sono stati assegnati ai migliori del settore al Prinzregententheater di Monaco di Baviera e oggi gli ospiti potranno ballare fino a notte fonda al grande Ballo del cinema nel rinomato hotel a 5 stelle in Promenadeplatz. Il tappeto rosso sarà srotolato all'Hotel Bayerischer Hof per il 50° Ballo del cinema tedesco 2026. Tra gli ospiti festosi ci sarà il Ministro-Presidente Dr. Markus Söder, dopo il cui saluto ufficiale il Ballo del Cinema Tedesco verrà inaugurato con il valzer di apertura intorno alle 21:00. Ora verrà servito il delizioso menu, creato dalla cucina del Bayerischer Hof. ...e poi le danze continueranno fino al mattino. 50° Ballo del Cinema Tedesco 2026 e le Nuove Stelle

Alle 18:00, i fotoreporter saranno sul red carpet per catturare foto festive e di alta qualità delle star. Seguirà il ricevimento ufficiale con champagne con Laurent Perrier dalle 19:00 alle 19:30.

Circa mezz'ora dopo, i presentatori del Ballo del Cinema Tedesco Nina Eichinger e Steven Gätjen daranno il benvenuto agli ospiti, mentre il presidente della SPIO (Associazione Tedesca dei Produttori Cinematografici), Peter Schauerte, presenterà le Nuove Stelle.

Verrà poi mostrato un trailer che offrirà una panoramica dell'anno cinematografico 2025 e un'anteprima dell'anno cinematografico 2026.

Munich. The 50th German Film Ball takes place this evening, January 24, 2026, at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Following its renovation last winter, the city's premier hotel offers an outstanding, modern, and festive ambiance for this anniversary ball. Yesterday, the Bavarian Film Awards were presented to the best in the industry at Munich's Prinzregententheater, and today, guests can dance the night away at the grand Film Ball in the renowned 5-star hotel on Promenadeplatz. The red carpet will be rolled out at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof for the 50th German Film Ball 2026. Among the festive guests will be Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder, after whose official greeting the German Film Ball will be opened with the opening waltz at approximately 9 p.m. Now the delicious menu, conjured up by the kitchen of the Bayerischer Hof, is being served. ...and then the dancing continues until the morning. How wonderful that we were able to see photographs of Brigitte Bardot, Faye Dunaway, Sean Connery, James Dean, Roger Moore and Sebastian Bezzel today during a stroll through the arcade of the Bayerischer Hof Hotel and in the "Stephen Hoffman - Fine Art Photography Gallery" (Prannerstrasse 5, Munich - rear of the Bayerischer Hof Hotel).

50th German Film Ball 2026 and the New Stars

At 6:00 p.m., press photographers will be on the red carpet to capture festive and high-quality photos of the stars. This will be followed by the official champagne reception with Laurent Perrier from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m.

About half an hour later, the German Film Ball hosts Nina Eichinger and Steven Gätjen will welcome the guests, and the president of the SPIO (German Association of Film Producers), Peter Schauerte, will introduce the New Stars.

A trailer will then be shown, offering a review of the 2025 film year and a preview of the 2026 film year.

Aujourd'hui, pour le 10e anniversaire de sa disparition, nous rendons hommage à la superstar David Bowie (8 janvier 1947 - 10 janvier 2016) (Deutsch,  English, Français, Italiano)

Le 8 janvier 2026, David Bowie aurait eu 79 ans. Le grand musicien, producteur, chanteur, compositeur et acteur britannique, véritable légende, qui n'a cessé de se réinventer, tant musicalement que visuellement, nous a quittés deux jours après son anniversaire, le 10 janvier 2016. Aujourd'hui marque le 10e anniversaire de sa mort. Bowie a profondément influencé la culture pop, à tel point que ses fans, même aujourd'hui, s'exclament encore : « Je suis un fan de Bowie ! » Bowie a vécu à Berlin dans les années 1970 et, en août 2016, une plaque commémorative a été apposée à son ancien domicile, au 155 Hauptstraße, dans le quartier de Berlin-Schöneberg, en son honneur. La superstar de la pop et du rock y a vécu jusqu'en 1978.

Mariage avec Iman

À Munich, collectionneurs et fans de Bowie peuvent trouver ces photographies hyper-glamour signées, en édition limitée, à la galerie Stephen Hoffman, située derrière l'hôtel Bayerischer Hof.

Le photographe londonien Terry O'Neill a réalisé des clichés uniques de David Bowie.

Il grande, anzi leggendario, musicista, produttore, cantante, compositore e attore britannico, che si è costantemente reinventato non solo musicalmente ma anche visivamente, è scomparso due giorni dopo il suo compleanno, il 10 gennaio 2016. Oggi ricorre il decimo anniversario della sua morte. Bowie ha influenzato profondamente la cultura pop, tanto che i suoi fan, anche in età avanzata, dicono ancora: "Sono un Bowie boy!" Bowie visse a Berlino negli anni '70 e nell'agosto 2016 è stata installata una targa commemorativa in sua memoria nella sua ex residenza in Hauptstraße 155 a Berlino-Schöneberg. La superstar del pop e del rock visse lì fino al 1978.

On January 8, 2026, David Bowie would have turned 79. The great, indeed legendary, British musician, producer, singer, songwriter, and actor, who constantly reinvented himself not only musically but also visually, passed away two days after his birthday, on January 10, 2016. Today marks the 10th anniversary of his death. Bowie profoundly influenced pop culture, so much so that his fan base—even in their later years—still says: "I'm a Bowie boy!" Bowie lived in Berlin in the 1970s – and in August 2016, a commemorative plaque was installed at his former residence at Hauptstraße 155 in Berlin-Schöneberg in his memory. The pop and rock superstar lived there until 1978.

Rare, limited-edition collector's photographs by Markus Klinko depict David Bowie at various stages of his iconic career

Around the year 2000, Bowie met the renowned photographer Markus Klinko in New York. Klinko not only photographed Bowie for GQ magazine, which had named him "Man of the Year," but also continued to collaborate with him, capturing his persona in highly sought-after collector's photographs.

In Munich, collectors and Bowie fans can find these signed, limited-edition hyper-glamour photographs at the Stephen Hoffman Gallery, located behind the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.

Brigitte Bardot as a strong woman in the Wild West

The film "The Petroleum Girls" (original title 'Les Pétroleuses') was directed by Christian-Jaque in 1971 and was a major box office success. In this Spaghetti Western comedy, Brigitte Bardot stars as Louise and Claudia Cardinale as Marie. The leader of the outlaw women, Louise, and her three sisters are the daughters of the infamous gangster boss Frenchie King. As their leaders, Marie and Louise continue the fight for the lucrative oil wells. In 1858, Louise and her sisters rob a train. Among their loot is a deed to a ranch: the Little P. Ranch, which the sisters fiercely defend from then on. It's all about the oil wells. Only after several weddings is the sheriff able to restore peace to his community and reunite the daughters with the families of the area.

Terry O’Neill was on set as a photographer, and with this shot of a cool, fighting woman in the Wild West, he created an icon of photography.

Dal 1979 al 1985, Freddie Mercury (il cui vero nome era Farrokh Bulsara) visse di tanto in tanto nel suo appartamento di Monaco, incontrò gli altri membri della band al Musicland Studio di Reinhold Mack per le registrazioni e organizzò feste nei club e negli hotel della capitale bavarese.

Peter Hince ha vissuto la rock band QUEEN ogni giorno, sia a livello personale che professionale.

Freddie – o meglio, "Fred", come lo chiama Hince nel libro – aveva spesso i suoi "leggendari scoppi d'ira" e Hince, che tutti chiamavano "Ratty", trovava sempre un modo per contrastarli.

Scoppi di rabbia e scambi di chitarre: com'era davvero andare in tour con i Queen

Per più di dieci anni, Peter Hince ha girato il mondo con i Queen e ha vissuto "sesso, droga e rock 'n' roll". Sul palco e fuori, in studio di registrazione o a una festa sontuosa in un bar di Monaco. Come capo della crew, era responsabile di garantire che Freddie Mercury fosse in grado di offrire le sue performance fenomenali, ancora e ancora. Quelle esibizioni leggendarie che molti ricordano ancora oggi: non era solo il suo supporto tecnico ad essere necessario, ma spesso anche quello psicologico.

"Crazy Little Thing of Love"

Peter Hince vide Freddie comporre "Crazy Little Thing of Love" nella vasca da bagno e chiedere la sua chitarra. Questo accadde in una suite del Munich Hilton Hotel. L'hotel dove la band giocò a calcio nella hall una sera dopo una festa sontuosa.
