Places to see beautiful fireworks in the Bavarian capital, Munich (Deutsch)
Munich. There are many spots in the Bavarian capital that offer a fantastic view of the upcoming New Year's Eve fireworks. Where can we find them? We've compiled a few here. When midnight strikes in Munich, all the partygoers want to get outside. But there are also rooftop terraces (like at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof or the Mandarin), many parks, bridges over the Isar River, gentle hills, and large open areas that invite you to enjoy the fireworks – including, of course, the Olympic Hill and the area around the Angel of Peace. Anyone planning their own fireworks display should know the following for New Year's Eve: IMPORTANT - In the city center: Fireworks are strictly prohibited on the entire Middle Ring Road; in many areas of the city center, a complete ban on fireworks is also in effect – this includes the entire Marienplatz, Stachus, the pedestrian zone on Kaufingerstraße, the romantic Viktualienmarkt, and several side streets, which will be clearly marked. Fireworks are also prohibited in the English Garden due to fire safety and nature conservation reasons. The same applies to Nymphenburg Palace Park and the Residenz Courtyards! Please inform yourself in advance so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant New Year's Eve. Information – including a city map – is available, for example, at www.muenchen.de/silvester

On New Year's Eve you can also fall into each other's arms at the Angel of Peace
In addition to the many Isar bridges like at the German Museum or the Zoo in Thalkirchen, you can enjoy a great view over the Lehel Munich from the Friedensengel. This is where all of Haidhausen and Bogenhausen meet. The view over Munich is breathtaking here, especially on New Year's Eve.

As always, the view from Olympiaberg over the state capital Munich is beautiful, and not just during the day
It takes a while to get to the Olympiaberg, but you can get close with the U3 and it's only a few hundred meters until you're on the hill. The Olympic Park is one of Munich's most popular New Year's Eve locations.
