Munich. The 188th Munich Oktoberfest, the largest folk festival in the world, is reaching its half-time mark in summery weather and that's why it's time for an interim assessment on this day. The Oktoberfest hosts should be satisfied with the first week of the Oktoberfest in Munich. Because the huge rush of visitors to the 188th Munich Oktoberfest - the festival management told the press - will probably be the most visited Oktoberfest in recent years, with almost 3.4 million visitors at halftime. - For your information: In 2019 there were 6.3 million festival visitors in Munich and in 2022 there were a whopping 5.7 million. By the way, there are 40 festival tents and over 100 rides and delicacies on the Theresienwiese. The "Freefall Towers" with the world's highest chain plane and the colorful Ferris wheel have so far had the highest number of visitors. And: This year's festival beer has 5.8 - 6.4% alcohol, which is due to the much higher original wort - one measure corresponds to 8 schnapps in terms of alcohol content! So far, around 6% more beer has been consumed than in 2022.
