From Wednesday, August 26, to Thursday, August 27, at 2:00 PM (CEST), gamescom fans and visitors can vote for their favorites in the ARTS and PLATFORM categories, as well as in the Best Booth (Consumer Award), Best Merch, and Best Trailer/Announcement categories. Voting takes place both online via gamescom.global and on-site using a QR code. We list the nominees for the gamescom award 2026 below:

A total of eight nominations for SEGA titles


An international jury of leading games journalists and content creators has selected the most exciting titles from a multitude of submissions; these games will be playable in the entertainment area at gamescom 2026.

*METRO: 2039* by 4A Games and Deep Silver tops the list with five nominations. The game not only secured nominations in the "Best Visuals" and "Most Epic" categories but was also nominated across all platforms on which it is being released.

The indie game *Denshattack!* by Undercoders and Fireshine Games—announced during last year’s gamescom Opening Night Live—received a total of four nominations.

*Alien: Isolation 2* by Creative Assembly and SEGA also received four nominations.

With two nominations each for *Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000* (also by Creative Assembly) and *STRANGER THAN HEAVEN* (by RGG Studio), SEGA has garnered a total of eight nominations as a publisher.

Best Merch (Consumer Award)



The "Best Merch" category recognizes products that stand out through creative design, originality, and a clear connection to a game or franchise. Eligible entries include, for example, exclusive trade fair items or innovative products that visitors enjoy using and showing off. Voting takes place from Wednesday, August 26, to Thursday, August 27 (at 2:00 PM).

Best Trailer / Announcement (Consumer Award)



Gamescom fans and visitors vote for the best game trailer or the best new game announcement revealed during gamescom. All trailers and announcements shown during gamescom Opening Night Live are eligible for the vote.
