Art Basel ha lanciato oggi la sua prima fiera nella regione MENASA (Medio Oriente, Nord Africa e Asia meridionale): la fiera d'arte inaugurale, "Art Basel Qatar", con il tema "Becoming".

Qatar. Downtown Msheireb a Doha. Con Art Basel Qatar, la fiera d'arte svizzera apre un nuovo capitolo per il mercato dell'arte globale. Art Basel Qatar è presentata in collaborazione con Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) e QC+. La fiera d'arte internazionale si terrà dal 4 al 7 febbraio presso l'autostrada M7 e nel Doha Design District nel centro di Msheireb (Msheireb Downtown Doha). Invece del tradizionale modello di stand espositivi, questa nuova fiera d'arte prevede presentazioni individuali degli artisti. La nuova fiera, che rappresenta un momento cruciale nei 55 anni di storia di Art Basel, è una risposta al duraturo impegno del Qatar nei confronti della cultura.

Alla vigilia del primo VIP Preview Day della mostra, Art Basel e Visit Qatar,

partner principale della fiera, hanno celebrato l'evento di benvenuto con la presentazione di SONG, una nuova opera site-specific di Jenny Holzer e decima opera del programma Progetti Speciali della fiera. L'opera ha animato il museo attraverso due proiezioni simultanee sulla facciata principale e nel cortile, accompagnate da un'unica performance coreografica con oltre 700 droni nel cielo notturno.

L'edizione inaugurale di Art Basel Qatar porta 87 espositori internazionali nella nuova sede espositiva.

Saranno presentati 84 artisti in totale, più della metà dei quali provenienti dalla regione MENASA.

La direzione artistica della fiera è affidata a Vincenzo de Bellis, Chief Artistic Officer e Global Director of Fairs di Art Basel, insieme a Wael Shawky, direttore artistico della prima edizione di Art Basel Qatar.

Vincenzo de Bellis, Direttore Artistico e Direttore Globale delle Fiere d'Arte, ha spiegato: "Con Art Basel Qatar, abbiamo voluto ripensare la struttura e l'esperienza di una fiera d'arte. Il formato multi-sede di Msheireb e la decisione di presentare esclusivamente presentazioni di singoli artisti creano un ritmo più lento e ponderato, che privilegia l'attenzione, il contesto e il valore rispetto alla velocità e all'accumulo. Questo approccio riflette la nostra visione dell'evoluzione delle fiere d'arte: come piattaforme che rimangono commerciali, consentendo al contempo un coinvolgimento più profondo e sostenibile con la pratica artistica".


Wael Shawky, direttore artistico della prima edizione di Art Basel Qatar, ha dichiarato: "Ciò che mi ha affascinato di questo progetto è stata l'opportunità di creare una fiera d'arte che non separasse mercato e formazione, ma piuttosto li considerasse entrambi parte dello stesso ecosistema. Il formato aperto di Art Basel Qatar permette agli artisti di presentare le proprie idee nella loro interezza, non solo in frammenti, e invita il pubblico a interagire direttamente con le opere. In questo senso, la fiera non è solo un luogo in cui acquistare opere d'arte, ma una piattaforma culturale in grado di creare conoscenza, dialogo e opportunità per gli artisti a lungo termine".

Art Basel a inauguré aujourd'hui sa toute première foire dans la région MENASA (Moyen-Orient, Afrique du Nord et Asie du Sud) : « Art Basel Qatar », placée sous le thème « Devenir ».

Qatar. Msheireb Downtown, Doha. Avec Art Basel Qatar, la foire d'art suisse ouvre un nouveau chapitre pour le marché mondial de l'art. Art Basel Qatar est présentée en partenariat avec Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) et QC+. La foire internationale se déroulera du 4 au 7 février sur l'autoroute M7 et dans le Doha Design District, à Msheireb Downtown (Doha). Au lieu du modèle traditionnel de stands d'exposition, cette nouvelle foire propose des présentations individuelles par les artistes. Représentant un tournant dans les 55 ans d'histoire d'Art Basel, cette foire témoigne de l'engagement de longue date du Qatar envers la culture.

À la veille de la première journée VIP d'Art Basel Qatar,

le partenaire principal de la foire a célébré l'événement en dévoilant SONG, une nouvelle œuvre in situ de Jenny Holzer, dixième pièce du programme « Projets spéciaux », lors d'une réception au Musée d'art islamique (MIA) de Doha. L'œuvre a investi le musée grâce à deux projections simultanées sur la façade principale et la cour, accompagnées d'une performance chorégraphiée de plus de 700 drones dans le ciel nocturne.

Cette première édition d'Art Basel Qatar réunit 87 exposants internationaux dans ce nouveau lieu d'exposition.

Au total, 84 artistes seront présentés, dont plus de la moitié sont originaires de la région MENASA.

La direction artistique de la foire est assurée par Vincenzo de Bellis, directeur artistique et directeur mondial des foires d'Art Basel, en collaboration avec Wael Shawky, directeur artistique de la première édition d'Art Basel Qatar.

Vincenzo de Bellis, directeur artistique et directeur international des foires d'art, explique : « Avec Art Basel Qatar, nous souhaitions repenser la structure et l'expérience d'une foire d'art. Le format multi-lieux à Msheireb et le choix de présenter exclusivement des œuvres d'artistes individuels instaurent un rythme plus lent et plus réfléchi, privilégiant la concentration, le contexte et la valeur plutôt que la rapidité et l'accumulation. Cette approche reflète notre vision de l'évolution des foires d'art : des plateformes qui restent commerciales tout en permettant un engagement plus profond et plus durable avec la pratique artistique. »

Wael Shawky, directeur artistique de la première édition d'Art Basel Qatar, a déclaré : « Ce qui m'a séduit dans ce projet, c'est l'opportunité de créer une foire d'art qui ne dissocie pas le marché et l'éducation, mais les considère au contraire comme faisant partie d'un même écosystème. Le format ouvert d'Art Basel Qatar permet aux artistes de présenter leurs idées dans leur intégralité, et non de manière fragmentaire, et invite le public à interagir directement avec les œuvres. En ce sens, la foire n'est pas seulement un lieu d'acquisition d'art, mais une véritable plateforme culturelle qui peut générer des connaissances, des échanges et des opportunités pour les artistes sur le long terme. »

Art Basel Qatar is presented in partnership with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and QC+. The international art fair will be held from February 4 to 7 at the M7 motorway and in the Doha Design District in Downtown Msheireb (Msheireb Downtown Doha). Instead of a traditional exhibition booth model, this new art fair features individual presentations by the artists. The new fair, which represents a pivotal moment in Art Basel's 55-year history, is a response to Qatar's long-standing commitment to culture.

On the eve of the first VIP Preview Day of the exhibition, Art Basel and Visit Qatar,

the fair's main partner, celebrated with the unveiling of SONG, a new site-specific work by Jenny Holzer and the tenth piece in the fair's Special Projects program, at a welcome event at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha. The work activated the museum through two simultaneous projections across the main facade and the courtyard, accompanied by a single, choreographed performance featuring over 700 drones in the night sky.

The inaugural edition of Art Basel Qatar brings 87 international exhibitors to the new exhibition venue.

A total of 84 artists will be featured, more than half of whom are from across the MENASA region.

The fair's artistic direction is overseen by Vincenzo de Bellis, Chief Artistic Officer and Global Director of Fairs at Art Basel, together with Wael Shawky, artistic director of the first edition of Art Basel Qatar.

La foire d'art « art Karlsruhe. Foire internationale d'art classique, moderne et contemporain » sera un événement majeur, réunissant collectionneurs, chercheurs, amateurs, conservateurs de musée et artistes, ainsi que 180 galeristes venus de 18 pays. Elle retracera 125 ans d'histoire de l'art

Karlsruhe. La foire d'art « art Karlsruhe » offre un panorama de la diversité du marché de l'art actuel. Le dialogue entre histoire et présent est au cœur des préoccupations des commissaires de la foire. L'exposition présente des œuvres d'Ernst Ludwig Kirchner à Mary-Audrey Ramirez, et de Joan Miró aux installations interactives d'intelligence artificielle. À art karlsruhe, 125 ans d'histoire de l'art se rejoignent : « Notre paysage artistique est résolument axé sur la qualité. Le noyau dur de galeries prestigieuses, présentes depuis de nombreuses années, est de plus en plus complété par de nouveaux venus et des exposants fidèles. Par ailleurs, l'intérêt des galeries internationales croît significativement », déclare Kristian Jarmuschek, président du conseil consultatif d'art karlsruhe. « Pour moi, c'est le meilleur signe : le salon fonctionne – pour les galeries, pour les visiteurs et pour le marché. »

Le point d'orgue de l'événement art:opening,

sera la remise du prix art karlsruhe,

- spécialement pour le lauréat -

Le point d'orgue de l'événement est la remise du Prix art karlsruhe, décerné par le Land de Bade-Wurtemberg et la Ville de Karlsruhe à l'artiste et à la galerie.

Ce prix de 15 000 € récompense l'exposition « one:artist » la plus marquante et salue le parcours artistique de l'artiste ainsi que l'engagement de la galerie présentatrice. L'œuvre sélectionnée rejoindra la collection art karlsruhe du Musée d'art de Karlsruhe.

Chaque exposition « one:artist » présentée à la foire est automatiquement nominée pour le Prix art karlsruhe.

La sculpture est au cœur de l'identité de la foire.

Depuis sa création, la sculpture est un élément essentiel d'art karlsruhe et restera son médium emblématique en 2026. Dans les halls 1, 2 et 4, 18 espaces dédiés à la sculpture invitent les visiteurs à découvrir des œuvres réalisées dans une grande variété de matériaux et de formes d'expression.


La galerie mianki présente le projet FABRIC : IN THE WIND de Katharina Schnitzler dans son espace sculpture (Hall 1 / H1/C15). L'artiste travaille avec des tissus historiques tels que la soie du Honan, le velours et le lin, qu'elle expose aux éléments. Le soleil, le vent et la terre laissent leur empreinte sur les textiles, leur conférant patine, marques et une beauté nouvelle. Sept à neuf œuvres textiles grand format sont suspendues dans l'espace sculpture, ondulant sous la brise.

Une impression presque contrastée se dégage de l'œuvre d'Elisa Manig (Galerie Jarmuschek + Partner, Berlin ; Hall 2 / H2/F04) : Shakles se compose de deux brins d'environ cinq mètres de long chacun, réalisés à partir d'éléments en acier noir cintré et plié, à la surface brunie. L’accès à l’art demeure une préoccupation majeure. « Nous souhaitons toucher de nouveaux collectionneurs grâce à des formats d’initiation clairs et bien conçus », explique Olga Blaß, chef de projet d’art karlsruhe. « Collectionner l’art commence par la curiosité. Et se termine souvent par un sentiment particulier : la joie d’avoir trouvé une œuvre durable. »

Les expositions spéciales seront à nouveau au cœur de la programmation d'Art Karlsruhe en 2026 :

LBBW présente « Traces numériques », une exposition qui explore le présent numérique à travers des œuvres d'Isa Genzken et d'Avery Gia Sophie Schramm. Stefanie Patruno, directrice du Musée d'art de Karlsruhe, rendra hommage à l'artiste de renommée internationale Rolf Behm, originaire de Karlsruhe, avec une exposition dont elle est la commissaire. La collection Dietmar Kohlrusch présentera pour la première fois à Karlsruhe des œuvres majeures du Pop Art, notamment des pièces de Warhol, Haring et Lichtenstein.

L'exposition présente des œuvres d'Ernst Ludwig Kirchner à Mary-Audrey Ramirez, et de Joan Miró aux installations interactives d'intelligence artificielle. À art karlsruhe, 125 ans d'histoire de l'art se rejoignent : « Notre paysage artistique est résolument axé sur la qualité. The €15,000 prize recognizes the most compelling one:artist show and honors the artistic achievements of the individual artist as well as the commitment of the presenting gallery. The selected artwork will be acquired by the Karlsruhe Art Museum for the art karlsruhe collection.

Every one:artist show at the fair is automatically nominated for the art karlsruhe Prize.

Sculptures define the fair's character

Sculpture has been a defining element of art karlsruhe from the very beginning, and it will remain the fair's signature medium in 2026. In Halls 1, 2, and 4, 18 spacious sculpture areas invite visitors to discover works in a wide variety of materials and forms of expression.


The mianki gallery presents Katharina Schnitzler's project FABRIC: IN THE WIND in its sculpture area (Hall 1 / H1/C15). The artist works with historical fabrics such as Honan silk, velvet, and linen, exposing them to nature. Sun, wind, and earth leave their mark on the textiles, giving them patina, scars, and a new beauty. Seven to nine large-format fabric works hang in the sculpture area, moving in the breeze.

A nearly contrasting impression is created in the sculpture area by Elisa Manig (Galerie Jarmuschek + Partner, Berlin; Hall 2 / H2/F04): Shakles consists of two strands, each approximately five meters long, made of bent and folded black steel elements with a burnished surface. The elements are threaded onto heavy-duty straps, hang parallel from the ceiling, each weighing around 40 kilograms, and terminate on a mound of gravel and rubble.

The sculpture areas are complemented by selected sculpture spots in the exhibition circuits, presented by, among others, KORNFELD (Berlin), ASPN (Leipzig) and Claeys (Freiburg).

A key concern remains access to art collecting. "We want to reach new collectors with clear, well-curated entry-level formats," says Olga Blaß, project manager of art karlsruhe. "Collecting art begins with curiosity. And often ends with a special feeling: the joy of having found something lasting."

La galleria Mianki presenta il progetto FABRIC: IN THE WIND di Katharina Schnitzler nella sua area dedicata alle sculture (Padiglione 1 / H1/C15). L'artista lavora con tessuti storici come la seta Honan, il velluto e il lino, esponendoli alla natura. Sole, vento e terra lasciano il loro segno sui tessuti, conferendo loro patina, cicatrici e una nuova bellezza. Da sette a nove opere in tessuto di grande formato sono appese nell'area dedicata alle sculture, muovendosi al vento.

Un'impressione quasi contrastante è creata nell'area dedicata alle sculture da Elisa Manig (Galerie Jarmuschek + Partner, Berlino; Padiglione 2 / H2/F04): Shakles è costituito da due fili, ciascuno lungo circa cinque metri, realizzati con elementi in acciaio nero piegati e pieghettati con una superficie brunita. Gli elementi sono infilati su robuste cinghie, pendono parallelamente dal soffitto, pesano ciascuno circa 40 chilogrammi e terminano su un cumulo di ghiaia e detriti.

Munich. On October 11, 2024, the Bavarian Palace Administration will start the 22nd Munich Residence Week. The motto sounds promising: “New Horizons”. Over the next 10 days you will have the opportunity to explore Germany's largest inner city palace, the "Munich Residence". There are special themed tours and music for a whole ten days. In addition to the Residenz am Hofgarten in Munich, the Nymphenburg and Schleißheim palaces will also be there. In 2024, Elector Karl Theodor will be at the center. He was an important supporter of science, art and music... The elector's cultural heritage is illuminated in detailed themed and outdoor tours. In Munich we still benefit today from the ideas of Karl Theodor, who founded the English Garden.  Karl Philipp Theodor, who was Charles IV Count Palatine and Elector of the Palatinate as well as Duke of Jülich-Berg from December 31, 1742, finally became Elector of Bavaria on December 30, 1777 as Charles II. He was an educated, enlightened prince and the first ruler of Electoral Palatinate-Bavaria. ... During the castle tours, visitors will learn more about the history of this elector and the castles and experience history up close at the historic site.

Karlsruhe - Germany. The art fair year begins when art KARLSRUHE opens its doors as a fair for classical modern and contemporary art from February 22nd to 25th, 2024. In Karlsruhe we find one of the most beautiful exhibition centers in Europe with wide, airy halls to enjoy the view of unobstructed exhibition stands with outstanding works of art in fine daylight and, above all, without pillars.

Works of art from the last 120 years will be available for purchase at the art fair in Karlsruhe in the coming days

Our photo shows the “GALERIE JEANNE – Graphics & Designs” trade fair stand and was taken in one of the last years. The gallery brings graphics and works on paper from the 20th century and contemporary art and will be exhibiting this year in Hall 1, Stand B18.
The “Galerie Jeanne – Graphics & Designs” has been an important address for international, high-quality graphics and works on paper from the 20th century, classical modernism, pop art and contemporary art in Munich for 42 years. At the Galerie Jeanne stand at “art Karlsruhe”, collectors of high-quality art will find an expert selection of prints, monotypes, drawings, prints and other art techniques on the image medium of paper.
