Don't be alarmed: Krampus is back! He's coming with reinforcements – in recent years, up to 50,000 spectators have flocked to Munich for the two runs

December 14, 2025 – The first Munich Krampus group, "Sparifankerl Pass," will parade through Marienplatz – from Augustiner Straße to the Old Town Hall – from 3 to 5 p.m. (Français, Italiano, Deutsch, English)

Munich. Horns, fur coats, gruesome faces, switches, and loud bells! Anyone wanting a truly spooky pre-Christmas experience – yes, even this tradition offers that – should come to the Krampus Run on December 14th at Munich's Marienplatz. They will start rattling, clattering, and roaring from 3 p.m. onwards on Sendlinger Straße: the gruesome companions of Saint Nicholas. For 500 years, the Perchten, Krampus, or "Klabaufs" have been part of the Christmas season in the Alpine region. There's no need to fear them, but the masks are truly terrifying.

The Krampus parade route on December 14th leads from Sendlinger Straße, through the Rosental park, past the Nativity Market at St. Peter's Church, and then to Marienplatz and the Old Town Hall. Saint Nicholas follows the colorful Krampus groups and, as always, brings up the rear of the procession, bringing a sense of calm. They enjoy startling spectators, engaging in wild dances, or cheering when someone screams. The Munich Krampus Group "Sparifankerl-Pass"

In 2004, Tom Bierbaumer founded the 20-man Munich Krampus group "Sparifankerl-Pass," reviving the Alpine tradition in the Bavarian capital.

The event is organized by the City of Munich, specifically the Department of Labor and Economic Development, and the Munich Christmas Market.

Originating from the Alpine region, the Krampus groups have established this annual parade as a tradition at the Munich Christmas Market.

Well, then, off to the Krampus parade! It all kicks off on 

Sunday, December 14, 2025, 

the second Sunday of Advent!

In the 16th century, the first so-called "Klabaufs" roamed the streets of the Alpine region. The individual costumes cost between €1,800 and €2,500. The Perchten are meant to drive out winter; they wear 4 to 10 horns, while the Krampus are adorned with two-horned masks. The Krampus outfit is heavy: a single mask weighs around 10 kilograms.

N'ayez crainte : le Krampus est de retour ! Il arrive en force : ces dernières années, jusqu'à 50 000 spectateurs ont afflué à Munich pour les deux courses

Le 14 décembre 2025, le premier groupe munichois de Krampus, « Sparifankerl Pass », défilera sur la Marienplatz, de l'Augustiner Straße à l'Hôtel de Ville, de 15h à 17h (Français, Italiano, Deutsch, English)

Munich. Cornes, manteaux de fourrure, visages terrifiants, baguettes et cloches stridentes ! Pour une expérience vraiment effrayante avant Noël (oui, même cette tradition a son charme), rendez-vous à la Course du Krampus le 14 décembre sur la Marienplatz à Munich. Dès 15h, les sinistres compagnons de Saint Nicolas s'élanceront sur la Sendlinger Straße. Depuis 500 ans, les Perchten, Krampus ou « Klabaufs » font partie intégrante des fêtes de Noël dans les Alpes. Nul besoin de les craindre, mais leurs masques sont véritablement terrifiants. Ils prennent plaisir à effrayer les spectateurs, à se livrer à des danses endiablées ou à applaudir lorsqu'on crie. Le défilé du Krampus, le 14 décembre, part de la Sendlinger Straße, traverse le parc Rosental, passe devant le marché de Noël de l'église Saint-Pierre, puis rejoint la Marienplatz et l'ancien hôtel de ville. Saint Nicolas suit les groupes de Krampus colorés et, comme toujours, ferme la marche, apportant une atmosphère de calme.

Le groupe Krampus de Munich « Sparifankerl-Pass »

En 2004, Tom Bierbaumer a fondé le groupe Krampus de Munich « Sparifankerl-Pass », composé de 20 membres, faisant ainsi revivre la tradition alpine dans la capitale bavaroise.

L'événement est organisé par la Ville de Munich, plus précisément par le Département du Travail et du Développement Économique, et le Marché de Noël de Munich.

Originaires des Alpes, les groupes Krampus ont instauré cette parade annuelle comme une tradition du Marché de Noël de Munich.

Si seulement j'avais peur !

Eh bien, en route pour la parade du Krampus ! Le coup d'envoi sera donné le dimanche 14 décembre 2025, le deuxième dimanche de l'Avent !

Au XVIe siècle, les premiers « Klabaufs » arpentaient les rues des Alpes. Le coût des costumes individuels varie entre 1 800 et 2 500 €. Les Perchten sont censés chasser l'hiver. Ils portent de 4 à 10 cornes, tandis que le Krampus est orné de masques à deux cornes. Le costume du Krampus est lourd : un seul masque pèse environ 10 kilogrammes.

8 décembre 2024 - Le premier groupe du Krampus munichois « Sparifankerl Pass » traverse la Marienplatz (English, Deutsch )

Munich - Marché de Noël.  Cornes, manteaux de fourrure, visages hideux, verges et cloches bruyantes ! Si vous voulez avoir une véritable frayeur avant Noël - oui, c'est ce que la tradition permet - alors venez au Krampus Run le 8 décembre sur la Marienplatz de Munich. Ils commenceront à claquer, à claquer et à rugir à partir de 15 heures dans la Sendlinger Straße : les compagnons effrayants de Saint-Nicolas. Les Perchten, Krampus ou « Klabaufs » font partie de la période de Noël dans la région alpine depuis 500 ans. Il ne faut pas les craindre, mais les masques sont vraiment « terribles ». Ils aiment effrayer les spectateurs, faire des danses endiablées ou se réjouir lorsque quelqu'un crie. Le parcours du 8 décembre part de la Sendlinger Straße, traverse Rosental, passe par le Kripperlmarkt d'Alten Peter et continue jusqu'à la Marienplatz jusqu'à l'ancien hôtel de ville. Saint-Nicolas suit les groupes colorés de Krampus et constitue, comme toujours, le feu arrière apaisant du défilé.

Le groupe Munich Krampus « Sparifankerl-Pass »

En 2004, Tom Bierbaumer fonde le groupe de 20 membres du Krampus munichois « Sparifankerl-Pass » et ramène les coutumes alpines dans la capitale bavaroise.
Les organisateurs sont la capitale du Land, Munich, avec le ministère du Travail et de l'Économie et le marché de Noël de Munich.
Originaires de la région alpine, les groupes Krampus ont fait de cette course annuelle une coutume au marché de Noël de Munich.

Eh bien, en route pour le Krampus Run ! Cela commence le dimanche 8 décembre 2024, 2ème Avent !!!

Munich - Christmas market and Santa Claus.  Horns, fur coats, hideous faces, rods and loud bells! If you want to get a real pre-Christmas scare - yes, that's what the tradition allows - then come to the Krampus Run on December 8th at Munich's Marienplatz. They will start rattling, clattering and with a lot of roaring from 3 p.m. on Sendlinger Straße: St. Nicholas' scary companions. The Perchten, Krampus or “Klabaufs” have been part of the Christmas season in the Alpine region for 500 years. You don't have to fear them, but the masks are really "terrible". They like to scare spectators, do wild dances or rejoice when someone screams. The running route on December 8th goes from Sendlinger Straße, across Rosental, through the Kripperlmarkt at Alten Peter and then to Marienplatz to the Old Town Hall. Saint St. Nicholas follows the colorful Krampus groups and, as always, forms the calming rear light of the parade.

The Munich Krampus group “Sparifankerl-Pass”
