Munich. For those staying in Munich for a while and wanting to experience the local festival-tent atmosphere every day, we recommend the Wirtshaus-Wiesn. Over 40 city-center taverns offer live music and a festive tent vibe. These establishments are already an integral part of the Oktoberfest experience, and anyone unfamiliar with the Wirtshauswiesn is missing out. Here, you experience the authentic original. Half of Munich—dressed in traditional attire—celebrates alongside visitors at the Hofbräuhaus, the Bratwurstherzl at Viktualienmarkt, the Nürnberger Bratwurst Glöckl am Dom (see photo), and Munich cafés like Café Rischart at Marienplatz, as well as in over 40 other taverns. – A quick tip: it’s best to reserve a table here, too! – When?
