Munich. The MASH action sports festival kicks off today, Friday, June 26. This weekend, everyone is gathering for the Munich MASH Festival at the Olympic Park: street dancers, skateboarders, wakeboarders, MTB riders, and the BMX community are meeting at the Olympic Park starting at 3:00 PM today. Munich MASH is a free action sports festival featuring competitions, live music, and a chill-out area... From June 27 to 29, 2025, the MASH Festival and competitions across all five disciplines—featuring the world's best athletes—will draw crowds to the Olympic Park. For three days, the Olympic Park becomes a fascinating place to experience sports, excitement, and community. Five competitions showcasing outstanding international athletes, along with the extensive offerings of the MASH Festival, present action sports "at its best." One park, five sports, and pure lifestyle—this, too, is Munich.

"Just like every year, I am looking forward to three days of MASH and sincerely hope that, despite the heatwave, tens of thousands of visitors will once again come to the park. MASH is a fixture on the calendars of many action sports fans, not least because we introduce new elements each year—such as the focus on inclusion this year," explains Marion Schöne, head of the Olympic Park. She adds: "The wonderful setting of our park and the blend of thrilling action sports and a relaxed atmosphere are what make MASH so special."
The state capital, Munich, has been a key partner and supporter of the action sports festival from the very beginning.
"Anyone who has attended MASH and experienced the event's unique appeal understands why the state capital, Munich, has happily supported it for years. Action sports are hugely popular in Munich and resonate strongly with young people. Supporting this is a matter close to my heart, and it is important to ensure that access is easy and inclusive. MASH offers exactly that: sport, excitement, and fantastic shared experiences—all without needing to buy a ticket. I am looking forward to MASH and strongly encourage the people of Munich to come to the Olympic Park," says Verena Dietl, Deputy Mayor for Sports.
One venue, five contests, and plenty of excitement and airtime
The sports program features five contests
Skateboarders – Vert returns to the Olympic Park
Spectacular tricks and plenty of airtime await as the vert ramp returns to the Olympic Park.
Just like at the 2013 X Games, the four-meter-high, 19-meter-wide halfpipe will be set up on the platform in front of the grassy tiers by the Olympic Lake.

Jump line at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz – for BMX riders
The same goes for the 80-meter-long jump line at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz, where not only BMX riders but—for the first time in years—MTB riders will also compete. The latter last participated in MASH back in 2016.

This is precisely where the mountain bikers will hold their competition, marking a spectacular MASH comeback following their last appearance in 2016.
Naturally, the wakeboarders are back in the lineup, too
But there is something new to experience here as well: alongside the "classic" competitions, there will be a "Best Trick" contest. While such a contest has taken place in previous years, this one will be different.
This year, the contest will be held on a kicker built specifically for MASH; its size promises a unique challenge—after all, there is currently no larger kicker in existence.
And yet another comeback: street dancers are returning to the park:
They will face off in the decisive qualifier of the Red Bull Dance Your Style Germany tour at the Theatron.

Vibrant, electrifying, inclusive, and full of creative ideas—that’s MASH Fest. This is where the scene’s pulse beats strongest.
The chill-out area invites you to relax and unwind, while a wide range of activities—such as skateboarding, dance, and graffiti workshops—promise fantastic experiences.
There is something for everyone, from introductory sports sessions, artistic performances, and musical entertainment to a diverse array of food and drink.
And, of course, the after-party with the Crux Pistols on Saturday evening is a must-attend event.

MASH Fest is a hub of cultural diversity and fresh experiences
Sun and heat protection at the MASH venue
Germany has been experiencing peak temperatures for days, and the forecast for the MASH weekend in Munich promises nothing but sunshine. To make the experience as comfortable as possible for visitors attending the 45- to 60-minute contests and exploring MASH Fest, additional shaded areas and drinking water stations are being set up across the site. Sunscreen dispensers are also available throughout the venue. Last but not least, temporary water misters will be deployed in the spectator areas. For those looking for cooler air between contests, the Olympic Hall (Level 3) is also open to visitors.
The opening hours for the MASH festival are:
Friday, June 26: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Saturday, June 27: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday, June 29: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
