Our 190th Munich Oktoberfest will take place from Saturday, September 20th, 2025, to Sunday, October 5th, 2025! (ENGLISH, DEUTSCH)

Munich. Oktoberfest season is approaching - the rides are currently being set up!!! It all starts on Saturday, September 20th, 2025!!! - We're giving you a taste of the best day of Oktoberfest: starting at 9 a.m., thousands of visitors will flock to the Theresienwiese. But only when the Wiesn innkeepers transport the beer to the Theresienwiese, at the very latest, will all Munich residents know: It's Oktoberfest! The beer is here! Decorated carriages, brewery teams, the mayor and the Münchner Kindl (Munich Child), along with the festival tent innkeepers, will parade on September 20, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. from Josephspitalstraße to the Theresienwiese below the Bavaria statue.

On the first Saturday of the Wiesn in 2025 - with the tapping of the first beer keg by Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter at 12 noon sharp, the Wiesn will officially be open!

• Tents will be open from 9 a.m., and non-alcoholic beverages (except non-alcoholic beer) will be available from 10 a.m.
• From 12 noon: "Ozapft is!" and beer will begin to be served

Le défilé avec le Münchner Kindl (l'Enfant de Munich), le maire Dieter Reiter et le ministre-président bavarois Markus Söder, l'entrée des aubergistes et l'« Ozapfn » (la tireuse à bière) marqueront le coup d'envoi traditionnel de l'Oktoberfest. Pour profiter d'une vue à distance, six webcams en direct, dont la webcam de la Bavière (Bavaria-Webcam ), seront installées pendant l'Oktoberfest. Des images et des vidéos en direct permettent aux invités et aux fans de l'Oktoberfest du monde entier de participer aux festivités à Munich.

Samedi 20 septembre 2025, à 10h45 – Entrée des aubergistes et des brasseries

Le Münchner Kindl, le maire de Munich, Dieter Reiter, et plus de 1 000 participants défileront à travers la ville en direction de la prairie de l'Oktoberfest.

L'« Entrée des aubergistes » et leurs carrosses décorés marquent le début de l'Oktoberfest depuis 1887.

• Samedi 20 septembre 2025, à 12h00 – « O'Zapft is » au Palais des festivals de Schottenhamel

À midi pile, l'annonce de « O'zapft is » sera faite et la bière coulera à flots sur la Theresienwiese.

Le maire tire le premier litre de bière du festival et, comme le veut la tradition, le remet au ministre-président bavarois, Markus Söder, pour dégustation.

Important dates for the 190th Oktoberfest 2025

The world's largest folk festival will take place for the 190th time from September 20th to October 5th.

Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. – Parade of the Innkeepers & Breweries

The Münchner Kindl, Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter, and over 1,000 participants will march through the city toward the Oktoberfest grounds.

The "Procession of the Innkeepers" and their decorated carriages have marked the beginning of Oktoberfest since 1887.

 

 Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM – "O'zapft is" at the Schottenhamel Festival Hall

At the stroke of 12:00 PM, the beer will be tapped and flowing on the Theresienwiese.

The mayor will tap the first liter of festival beer and, in keeping with tradition, hand it over to Bavarian Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder for tasting.

The Tachtler procession is led by Münchner Kindl, the Mayor of Munich and Bavaria's Prime Minister

The procession through Munich city center is led by the current Münchner Kindl, which can be seen everywhere in the town hall on Marienplatz as the city's coat of arms. This year it is 20-year-old Franziska Inselkammer. Also in the carriages at the front of the procession are Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter and Bavaria's Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder there. The breweries also send festively decorated, multi-horse floats and offer spectators a beautiful sight on the street or in the windows

First Oktoberfest Sunday “Live” on TV:

Many Bavarians also sit in front of the television when Bayerischer Rundfunk or München TV broadcast the traditional costume parade live.
Briefly about the history of the traditional costume parade:  

In 1835, the traditional costume parade moved through Munich for the first time on the occasion of the silver wedding anniversary of King Ludwig I and Therese of Bavaria. 25 years earlier, both had married on October 12, 1810, which was celebrated with the first Oktoberfest.

Munich, Theresienwiese. Today the official beer mug for Oktoberfest 2024 was presented in the Armbrustschützenzelt. Oktoberfest boss Clemens Baumgärtner had invited and everyone was there: Oktoberfest hosts and city councilors and even the Münchner Kindl. The new motif takes up everything about the Münchner Kindl. It's always an event when a new collector's jug costs € 29.50 without a pewter lid and € 49,- with a pewter lid. As a graphic designer, Annika Mittelmaier came up with this beautiful motif, which will attract worldwide attention in the next few weeks - because a collector's mug is always a nice souvenir for those who stay at home. Franziska Inselkammer, born in 2003 as a Munich child, is looking forward to the Krug and the Oktoberfest 2024 in three weeks.
