Munich. Depuis 1996, la communauté irlandaise de la capitale bavaroise célèbre chaque année, le week-end précédant la fête nationale irlandaise (17 mars), la plus grande fête de la Saint-Patrick d'Europe continentale. Le samedi 14 et le dimanche 15 mars 2026, des milliers de personnes célébreront le saint patron de l'Irlande sur les places et dans les rues de Munich. Cette tradition perdure depuis 30 ans dans la capitale bavaroise. La Saint-Patrick est un événement incontournable du calendrier munichois. Suggestion spéciale pour le samedi soir :

La culture irlandaise et écossaise est à l'honneur avec des prestations, entre autres, de:

• le Paul Daly Band,
• la chanteuse Tanja Heger,
• le joueur de cornemuse Konrad Stock,
• et le groupe de danse de l'Association écossaise de Munich.

Le point d'orgue du week-end est le défilé du dimanche 15 mars 2026 à midi.

Le rôle honorable de Grand Maréchal sera assumé par Alison Moffat-McLynn en 2026. Wolfgang Schramm, 76 ans, de Munich, revêtira à nouveau le costume de Saint Patrick.

Le défilé est le point d'orgue des festivités de la Saint-Patrick : une procession reliant Münchner Freiheit à Odeonsplatz.

Le défilé débute à midi, dimanche, à Münchner Freiheit.

• Accompagné de la princesse Faye Marie O'Meara, saint Patrick mènera la procession,
• qui se dirigera de Münchner Freiheit vers Odeonsplatz.

Près de 1 400 participants, répartis en environ 70 groupes, parcourront les 2,5 kilomètres du trajet. L'entrée est gratuite pour les spectateurs. Le parcours emprunte les rues Leopoldstrasse et Ludwigstrasse jusqu'à Odeonsplatz.

Traditionnellement, le défilé en l'honneur du saint patron de l'Irlande, saint Patrick, met en scène des porte-drapeaux, des clubs sportifs, des associations de costumes traditionnels et des groupes folkloriques :

• des Highlanders,
• des joueurs de rugby,
• des passionnés du Moyen Âge et
• des lutins
• déambulent dans les rues, accompagnés de fanfares.

Des milliers de spectateurs assistent au défilé – beaucoup sont déguisés avec des accessoires appropriés :

• chapeaux verts ou lunettes en forme de trèfle irlandais typique.

Les festivités de la Saint-Patrick débutent le samedi 14 mars 2026 à 11h00.

Scène près de la statue équestre, Ludwigstrasse :

L'hymne national irlandais sera joué sur la scène près de la statue équestre, Ludwigstrasse, suivi de la bénédiction du trèfle traditionnel irlandais.

Ensuite, le programme de musique et de danse, riche et traditionnel, commencera.

Ceux qui ne peuvent pas assister au défilé dimanche ont l'occasion, dès aujourd'hui, samedi 14 mars 2026, de se joindre aux Irlandais, aux habitants de la région et aux personnes venues du monde entier pour célébrer cet événement, symbole de réussite en matière de compréhension internationale.

Les deux jours, de nombreux stands de restauration et une scène pour le programme culturel seront installés devant la Feldherrnhalle.

Les groupes de musique et de danse, qui se produiront même sur deux scènes le dimanche, viennent d'Irlande, de Munich et du Monténégro (pour le groupe O'Konrads).

Monaco. Dal 1996, la comunità irlandese nella capitale bavarese celebra ogni anno la più grande festa di San Patrick dell'Europa continentale nel fine settimana precedente la festa nazionale irlandese (17 marzo). Sabato 14 e domenica 15 marzo 2026, migliaia di persone festeggeranno il santo patrono d'Irlanda nelle piazze e nelle strade di Monaco. Questa tradizione è radicata nella capitale bavarese da 30 anni. La celebrazione è un appuntamento fisso nel calendario degli eventi di Monaco di Baviera. Nel 2026, l'onorevole ruolo di Gran Maresciallo sarà ricoperto da Alison Moffat-McLynn. Wolfgang Schramm, 76 anni, di Monaco di Baviera, indosserà ancora una volta il costume di San Patrizio.

La parata è il momento clou delle celebrazioni di San Patrizio: una processione da Münchner Freiheit a Odeonsplatz.

La parata inizia alle 12:00 di domenica a Münchner Freiheit:

Insieme alla Principessa Faye Marie O'Meara, San Patrizio guiderà la processione, che si snoderà da Münchner Freiheit a Odeonsplatz.

Quasi 1.400 partecipanti, suddivisi in circa 70 gruppi diversi, percorreranno il tragitto di 2,5 chilometri. L'ingresso è gratuito per gli spettatori. Il percorso si snoda lungo Leopoldstrasse e Ludwigstrasse fino a Odeonsplatz.

Tradizionalmente, la parata in onore del santo patrono d'Irlanda, San Patrizio, vede la partecipazione di portabandiera, società sportive, associazioni di costumi tradizionali e gruppi folcloristici:

• Highlander,
• giocatori di rugby,
• appassionati di rievocazioni medievali,
• e leprecauni
• sfileranno per le strade accompagnati da bande musicali.

Migliaia di spettatori assistono alla parata, molti dei quali vestiti con accessori a tema:

• cappelli verdi o occhiali a forma del tipico trifoglio irlandese.

Il Festival di San Patrizio inizia 

sabato 14 marzo 2026 alle ore 11:00

Palco presso la statua equestre in Ludwigstrasse:

Innanzitutto, verrà eseguito l'inno nazionale irlandese sul palco allestito presso la statua equestre in Ludwigstrasse, seguito dalla benedizione del tradizionale trifoglio irlandese.

Successivamente, avrà inizio il popolare e tradizionale programma di musica e danza.

Chi non potrà partecipare alla parata di domenica avrà l'opportunità oggi, sabato 14 marzo 2026, a partire dalle ore 11:00, di unirsi agli irlandesi, agli abitanti del luogo e a persone provenienti da tutto il mondo in questo splendido esempio di riuscita comprensione internazionale.

In entrambe le giornate, di fronte alla Feldherrnhalle saranno allestiti numerosi stand gastronomici e un palco per il programma culturale di accompagnamento.

Le band e i gruppi di danza che si esibiranno dal vivo, che domenica si alterneranno addirittura su due palchi, provengono da Irlanda, Monaco di Baviera e Montenegro (nel caso del gruppo O'Konrads).

The St. Patrick's Day Festival kicks off on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Stage at the equestrian statue on Ludwigstrasse:

First, the Irish national anthem will be played on the stage at the equestrian statue on Ludwigstrasse, followed by the blessing of the typical Irish shamrock.

München.  Die Iren begehen in der Bayerischen Landeshauptstadt seit 1996 immer am Wochenende vor dem irischen Nationalfeiertag St. Patrick's Day (am 17. März) die größte Feier auf dem europäischen Festland.   Am Samstag, den 14. und am Sonntag, den 15. März 2026 feiern Tausende auf einigen Plätzen und Straßen den irischen Nationalheiligen in München. 30 Jahre besteht diese Tradition in der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt. Der Umzug startet am Sonntag um 12:00 Uhr an der Münchner Freiheit:

Zusammen mit der Parade Princess Faye Marie O´Meara wird St. Patrick den Umzug anführen,
der von der Münchner Freiheit bis zum Odeonsplatz geht. 

Knapp 1.400 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer in ca. 70 verschiedenen Gruppierungen absolvieren die 2,5 Kilometer lange Strecke. Die Zuschauer und Schaulustigen sind kostenfrei dabei. Die Route führt über die Leopold- und Ludwigstraße bis hin zum Odeonsplatz.

Traditionell sind bei der Parade zu Ehren des irischen Nationalheiligen St. Patrick Flaggenträger und Sportklubs, Trachtenvereine und Folklorevereine dabei: 

• Highlander, 
• Rugbyspieler, 
• Mittelalterfans 
• und Leprechauns 
• marschieren mit Musikkapellen durch die Straßen. 

Tausende Zuschauende verfolgen den Umzug – viele verkleidet mit passenden Accessoires: 

• grünen Hüten oder Brillen in Form des typisch irischen Kleeblatts.

Los geht das St. Patrick’s Day Festival bereits am Samstag, dem 14. März 2026 ab 11 Uhr 

Bühne am Reiterdenkmal in der Ludwigstraße:

• Zunächst wird auf der Bühne am Reiterdenkmal in der Ludwigstraße die irische Nationalhymne erklingen und das typisch irische Kleeblatt gesegnet.
•  
• Im Anschluss startet dann das bewährte und beliebte Musik- und Tanzprogramm.

Wer am Sonntag nicht zur Parade kommen kann, hat heute, am Samstag (14. März 2026, ab 11 Uhr), die Möglichkeit, mit Irinnen und Iren, Einheimischen und Menschen aus der ganzen Welt bei diesem Paradebeispiel für gelungene Völkerverständigung mitzumachen.

An beiden Tagen sind vor der Feldherrnhalle zahlreiche Gastronomiestände und eine Bühne fürs begleitende Kulturprogramm aufgebaut

Die Livebands und Tanzgruppen, die sich am Sonntag sogar auf zwei Bühnen verteilen, stammen aus Irland, München und Montenegro (im Fall der Band O’Konrads).

With a large festival and a Green Parade, Munich's Irish celebrate their national holiday, St. Patrick's Day – which is celebrated in Ireland every year on March 17th.

Event tip: 27th St. Patrick's Day Festival 2025 on March 15th & 16th in Munich around Odeonsplatz – the grand parade starts at 12 noon on Sunday with an adapted security concept.

Munich. Munich is under the sign of the green Irish shamrock. The annual St. Patrick's Day Festival in Munich is the largest celebration of the Irish national holiday on the European mainland. Every year in March, a grand parade takes place on the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day (which is celebrated in Ireland on Monday, March 17th). The celebrations will take place around Odeonsplatz on two Irish days with music and dance under the motto: "Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh," which means "Happy St. Patrick's Day" in Irish! Stages have already been set up at Odeonsplatz. This is where the green festival will take place, featuring Irish music, Irish specialties, and fun-filled socializing. The program of music and folklore groups performing here on Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16, is listed below. Since 1996, Munich has celebrated the weekend before St. Patrick's Day on March 17.

A special Irish-Bavarian connection was established with the opening of the Irish Consulate General in Munich in 2024

Ireland opened its Consulate General in Munich in 2024. The current Consul General, James C. O'Shea, is supporting the St. Patrick's Day Festival 2025. His 16-year-old daughter, Nina Caitríona, will take on the honorable role of Parade Princess this year.

Munich's Wolfgang Schramm will take on the famous role of St. Patrick, leading the parade on Sunday (see below) together with the Grand Marshal and the "Parade Princess." Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter is once again the patron of the celebrations this year. The organization was handled by the Munich Irish Network e. V. (MIN) and volunteers.

The grand, green parade on Sunday, March 16, 2025, will be the highlight of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations

The St. Patrick's Day parade begins at noon at Münchner Freiheit. Around 70 dance, music, and folklore groups, with approximately 1,500 people, are scheduled to participate. The route will take the procession from Münchner Freiheit along Leopoldstrasse and Ludwigstrasse, past the Ludwig Maximilian University, and finally to Odeonsplatz. Wolfgang Schramm embodies the figure of St. Patrick in the parade and will lead the procession along with the female Grand Marshal and the "Parade Princess."

The parade, which honors the Irish national saint, St. Patrick, will feature traditional marching bands, flag bearers, bagpipers in traditional kilts, various sports clubs, and traditional costume and folklore societies. We can look forward to seeing the large glasses shaped like the typical Irish shamrock, the Highlanders and rugby players, many knightly medieval fans, and leprechauns – those green-clad nature spirits with their large green huts, who live throughout Ireland as the shoemakers of the fairies!

In addition to music from Irish groups, food stands will offer Irish specialties.

Guests can especially look forward to a performance by the Owen Gerrard Band, which will travel all the way from Dublin and will be joined by two Milanese musicians, Daniele Morelli and Luca Cantelli. And presumably, Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter will be there on Sunday for the greenest weekend of the year. standing on stage and playing guitar with the Paul Daly Band.

Munich's St. Patrick's Day celebrations have been taking place since 1996.

Every year, volunteer members of various associations organized under the umbrella organization of the Munich Irish Network e.V. organize this green weekend in Munich.
For many years, Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter has been the patron; he and the City of Munich's Department of Labor and Economic Development support the festivities.

Munich Tourism, Events and Hospitality offers support in organizing, public relations, and designing the event.

• the Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Programme,
• Augustiner, Bushmills, Guinness, and Otto Pachmayr also make important contributions to the success of the event.

Bavaria and Ireland have another nice thing in common:

Mit einem großen Fest und einer Grünen Parade feiern die Münchner Iren ihren Nationalfeiertag St. Patrick's Day - der jedes Jahr am 17. März in Irland gefeiert wird

 

Veranstaltungstipp: 27. St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2025 am 15. & 16. März in München rund um den Odeonsplatz - die große Parade startet am Sonntag um 12 Uhr mit einem angepassten Sicherheitskonzept

 

München. München im Zeichen des grünen irischen Kleeblatts. Das jährliche St. Patrick’s Day
Festival in München ist die größte Feierlichkeit für den irischen Nationalfeiertag auf dem
europäischen Festland. Jedes Jahr im März findet am Sonntag vor dem St. Patrick's Day (der am Montag, den 17. März in Irland begangen wird) eine große Parade statt. Gefeiert wird rund um den Odeonsplatz an 2 Irischen Tagen mit Musik und Tanz-Programm unter dem Motto: "Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh" was auf Irisch bedeutet "Fröhlichen St. Patrick's Day"! Am Odeonsplatz wurden schon Bühnen aufgebaut. Hier findet das grüne Festival mit irischer Musik, irischen Spezialitäten und lustiger Geselligkeit statt. Das Programm der Musik- und Folkloregruppen, die am Samstag, den 15. März und auch am Sonntag, den 16. März hier auftreten, haben wir unten aufgeführt. Seit dem Jahr 1996 wird am Wochenende vor dem irischen Nationalfeiertag (St. Patrick's Day) am 17. März in München gefeiert.

Eine spezielle, irish-bayerische Connection wurde mit der Eröffnung des Irischen Generalkonsulats in München im Jahr 2024 manifestiert

Irland hat 2024 sein Generalkonsulat in München eröffnet. Der aktuelle Generalkonsul James C. O’Shea unterstützt das St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2025. Seine 16-jährige Tochter Nina Caitríona wird heuer die ehrenvolle Aufgabe der Parade Princess übernehmen. 

In die berühmte Rolle des St. Patrick wird der Münchner Wolfgang Schramm sich einfügen, der gemeinsam mit dem weiblichen Grand Marshal und der "Parade Princess" die Parade am Sonntag (siehe unten) anführen wird. Die Schirmherrschaft für die Feierlickeiten hat auch dieses Jahr Münchens Oberbürgermeister Dieter Reiter übernommen. Die Organisation wurde vom Munich Irish Network e. V. (MIN) und ehrenamtlichen Helfern übernommen.

Die große, grüne Parade am Sonntag, 16. März 2025 bildet das Highlight der Feierlichkeiten zum St. Patrick's Day

Der St. Patrick's-Umzug beginnt um 12 Uhr an der Münchner Freiheit. Angekündigt sind an die 70 Tanz- Musik und Folklore-Gruppen mit circa 1500 Personen. Die Route führt den Zug von der Münchner Freiheit aus über die Leopold- und Ludwigstraße an der Ludwig-Maximilians Universität vorbei bis hin zum Odeonsplatz. Wolfgang Schramm verkörpert im Umzug die Figur des Heiligen Patrick und wird den Zug zusammen mit dem weiblichen Grand Marshal und der „Parade Princess" den Umzug anführen. 

In der Parade, mit der der irische Nationalheilige St. Patrick  geehrt wird, sieht man traditionelle Musikkapellen, Flaggenträger, Dudelsack-Spieler im traditionellen Kilt, verschiedene Sportklubs und Trachten- bzw. Folklorevereine. Freuen wir uns auf die großen Brillen in Form des typisch irischen Kleeblatts, die Highlander und Rugbyspieler, viele ritterliche Mittelalterfans und Leprechauns - jene grün gekleideten Naturgeister mit ihren großen grünen Hütten, die als die Schuhmacher der Feen überall in Irland leben!

Neben Musik von irischen Gruppen werden Gastrostände irische Spezialitäten anbieten. 

Besonders freuen können sich die Gäste auf den Auftritt der Owen Gerrard Band, die extra aus Dublin anreist und um die beiden Mailänder Daniele Morelli und Luca Cantelli verstärkt wird. Und vermutlich wird beim grünsten Wochenende des Jahres der  Münchner Oberbürgermeister Dieter Reiter am Sonntag auf der Bühne stehen und mit der Paul Daly Band die Gitarre spielen.

• Schirmherr seit vielen Jahren ist Münchens Oberbürgermeister Dieter Reiter, er und das Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft der Landeshauptstadt München unterstützen die Feierlichkeiten. 
• München Tourismus, Veranstaltungen und Hospitality bietet Support in Sachen Organisation, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und in der Gestaltung der Veranstaltung. 
• Einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Gelingen der Veranstaltung leisten überdies Tourism Ireland,
