Munich. The DTM is expanding its involvement in SimRacing: Fans of virtual motorsport can now experience the DTM on the iRacing platform. Community races are planned on the world's largest SimRacing platform before each of the eight DTM events in the 2026 season. The DTM on iRacing complements the existing SimRacing offering on the RaceRoom platform, which will also host the DTM eSports Championship again in 2026.
With over 350,000 registered players, iRacing is one of the world's largest and most popular providers of motorsport simulations
The platform is aimed particularly at fans of realistic, hardcore racing simulations, who can compete against each other in an open, global ranking system. With the DTM, iRacing gains a significant new partner, in addition to its existing collaborations with NASCAR, IndyCar, and other racing series.
“The interest in the DTM among sim racers is enormous – we see this both in online races and in the simulators at the DTM events on site. We are delighted to make the virtual DTM accessible to an even wider circle of sim racers through our partnership with iRacing. In our long-term cooperation, we are planning joint marketing and community activities in addition to the integration into the simulation,” says ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss.
“We are delighted to add the DTM to our ever-growing portfolio of professional racing series on iRacing,” says iRacing President Tony Gardner. “The iRacing DTM Series is a fantastic opportunity for the global sim racing community to experience the thrill of the DTM in a virtual format – with races open to everyone and a calendar that closely mirrors the real thing. We look forward to an exciting season!”
The iRacing DTM Series always kicks off at 8 p.m. on the Thursday before a DTM race.
The start times are chosen to allow sim racers worldwide to participate. The iRacing community will get started on April 23 at the virtual Red Bull Ring. This will be followed by races at Zandvoort, Spa, and Brands Hatch, before the second half of the season continues at Oschersleben – followed by the Nürburgring, the Sachsenring, and the grand finale at the Hockenheimring.
Anyone registered on the platform can participate in the new virtual racing series and bring the DTM action home. All official liveries for the 2025 DTM season will soon be available for iRacing via the renowned platform "Trading Paints."
The race format is based on the successful DTM concept:
Race races will be 55 minutes long with pit stops. This promises exciting duels and thrilling head-to-head racing, just like in the real DTM.
