ENGLISH VERSION: Exhibition and book recommendation: limited, large-format artist book for the exhibition by Nicolas Party will be published at the beginning of March 2024
The artist's book for the exhibition WHEN TOMORROW COMES by NICOLAS PARTY
Exhibition by Nicolas Party at the MUSEUM FRIEDER BURDA in Baden-Baden until February 18, 2024
Baden-Baden. The exhibition period for WHEN TOMORROW COMES by NICOLAS PARTY at the Frieder Burda Museum in Baden-Baden is coming to an end. After February 18, 2024, the murals will dissolve into pastels and disappear as originals. The art in the museum becomes “dust in the air”. What remains is the memory of those monumental colorful chalk drawings and the knowledge that you were there. A precious moment before the work of art disappeared. But the works will not be completely forgotten, as they have been recorded in an elaborate limited-edition artist's book for the exhibition. The book is filled with high-quality photographs. It contains fold-out pages and was printed in a special format. The artist Nicolas Party determined the graphic design together with the museum and the publisher. What happens when art goes: An artist's book with an expected publication date of early March 2024.

The exhibition WHEN TOMORROW COMES by NICOLAS PARTY is only available for two weeks
What can painting achieve today? Paint walls and make them shine. This is what Nicolas Party does with just nine murals in pastel. It took the artist a full four weeks to paint the light-flooded architecture of the Richard Meier Building in Baden-Baden. From November to February 18th we were able to see them or better experience them because the giant formats are etched in our memory. And then it says “It’s over!” The originals will never be seen in this form again! They will disappear from the museum wall and complete our Inner Gallery - the one that everyone only carries in their own memory.
So: plan your visit to the Frieder Burda Museum by February 18, 2024!
The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday, always from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
