Englisch version: Cirque du Soleil - Theresienwiese
The acrobats travel through a cabinet of curiosities and meet Mr. Microcosmos
It will be KURIOS at the Cirque du Soleil until February 25, 2024 in Munich on the Theresienwiese
Munich. The Cirque du Soleil's varied program comes into the ring in a truly "curious" way and takes all the audience along with it from the very first moment. The large blue and yellow circus tent on Munich's Theresienwiese arouses curiosity. There are parking spaces right in front of it and the “Theresienwiese” subway station is less than a 2-minute walk away. The Cirque du Soleil troupe was once founded by Guy Laliberté - "once" means 40 years ago that the former street artist realized his dream. The circus people from Canada and all over the world have been traveling internationally ever since, inspiring young and old all over the world. In the program currently being shown at the Oktoberfest meadow, a researcher becomes part of a scientific fantasy. The acrobats travel through a cabinet of curiosities and get to know Mr. Microcosmos and all the curious characters involved. Until February 25, 2024 - our tip: be sure to order tickets in advance! The circus is back in town - the ring is free for the revue of the Canadian artist troupe Cirque du Soleil
The circus numbers under the motto "Kurios" still inspire after 10 years of touring, because human pyramids and rocking balancing acts are hard to beat in terms of perfection at Cirque du Soleil. One is amazed at the flexibility, lightness and art of illusion with which each actor manages to deceive our eyes again and again. Faster, higher, further seems to be the motto. Take James Gonzalez, the Rola Bola artist who balances in the roof of the tent as if he were an arachnid.
A hot air balloon that lets little men, shadow men, dance inside or on top of it
This captures the imagination of the crowd. It's captivating how the artist's hands depict these creatures. Another man is a yo-yo, in the broadest sense, and an air bike just goes by, while others hop on a huge net like flying fish under the dome. 13 people form a pyramid group that cannot be surpassed in somersaults and offers top-class acrobatics.
And the clown isn't missing either:
As a tamer, Facundo Gimenez also portrays his animals himself.
All backdrops inspire the imagination and take you back to the time of hot air balloons
Between nostalgia and a vision of the future, the demonstration tells the story of a scientist's plan
From the steam engine to the light bulb, to electro music and robots, visitors to the Cirque du Solei experience a journey through time. The audience follows Mathieu Hubener as the spherical Mr. Mikrokosmos and the postwoman who disappears into the air, where Anne Weisbecker continues cycling under the 20 m high ring and, so to speak, inspires the scientist's imagination.

“Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities”
The new show runs under the MOTTO “Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities” and is billed as a “homage to the era of the Industrial Revolution and the pursuit of human ingenuity.” Let's see what unites the mechanical world with the laws of physics and how nostalgic designs and current AI or futuristic elements permeate the circus air with a dose of magic.
