Carnival is in Munich! January 3rd - 11:11 AM: Enthronement of the 2025/26 Narrhalla Prince and Princess live at a large carnival party at Marienplatz - FREE ADMISSION!

Carnival date: Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the open-air stage at Marienplatz - Mega Party at the Enthronement, Marienplatz (Deutsch)

Munich. Marienplatz - Carnival Event: It's that time again: We're waking you from your winter slumber! On Saturday, January 3, 2026, the Narrhalla München will celebrate the official enthronement (11:11 a.m.) of the new Prince and Princess, who are also "The Official Carnival Prince and Princess of the City of Munich." The investiture will be of "His Highness" Prince Stephan I – the Bergisch Lion of the Isar Valley – and "Her Highness" Princess Samantha I – the sparkling dancer between the glittering Isar River and the Alpine glow. Following this, the Narrhalla Youth Prince and Princess, Jonathan I and Sara I, will be enthroned. Our Mayor, Verena Dietl, will deliver greetings from the state capital and symbolically present the city key. The Prince and Princess will reign over the city of Munich until Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Highlights of the event include the unveiling of the Narrhalla Carnival Order 2026 and the handover of the Prince's float.

The official Narrhalla Carnival Order 2026 will also be presented on the stage in front of the town hall. The Prince and Princess will receive their carriage: this year, the Prince's float is being provided by Automag GmbH Munich. Their Highnesses will thus be mobile throughout the entire carnival season and will attend numerous engagements.

The supporting program on Marienplatz on January 3rd, starting at 11:11 a.m., promises a lively party atmosphere

• Excerpts from the new show program by the Prince's Guard, the Youth and Children's Guard, and the Flag Regiment

• Guards and party music
• Live music by NACHTSTARK – the cult band from Munich's Oktoberfest
• Food and drinks will be available! Grilled specialties and beverages will be served.

It starts on February 7th, 2025 with the “Oide Wiesn Citizens Ball”

Yes, you read that right, the ball season opens in the theater with the "Oide Wiesn Citizens' Ball", which has long been established and is well attended.

 Then on February 8th, 2025 the big “Narrhalla Ball”

Let's look forward to the big soirée of the Munich carnival company Narrhalla with the carnival prince couple of the state capital, who will open the festivities with the traditional Prince's Waltz.

“Pasión de Baile” follows on February 9, 2025

Salsa has long since conquered the hearts of dancers in Munich and so Salsa Ball format "Pasión de Baile" with an evening full of Cuban flair will certainly be well received in 2025.

It continues on February 21, 2025 with the “Gaudeamus Ball”

Under the motto "Gaudeamus igitur" - Latin for "So let us be happy!" - Munich's Catholic corporations are celebrating what is probably their largest academic ball on February 21st in the Deutsches Theater. The ball is open to everyone. A young carnival audience will attend Dancing at the Gaudeamus Ball and partying hard.

Then we'll go to the famous "Munich Dance Night" on February 22, 2025.

The Munich dance schools look forward to this all year round, bringing all dance enthusiasts together for a rousing night of dancing full of music! This carnival dance night is organized by all dance schools as a joint project for every dancer's heart.

The “Children’s Carnival” on February 23, 2025 invites the youngsters

Dressed up as pilots, astronauts, princesses, magicians and so on, the little ones are entertained with music and fun games and additional exciting performances at the children's carnival in the German Theater.

“Ball of the Stars” on February 27, 2025

The Ball of the Stars brings unusual concepts to the ball hall every year. The guests look forward to the swing of the Hugo Strasser orchestra and also dance to the waltz sounds of the orchestra.

"ball.total" on February 28, 2025

The 12th ball.total is a mixture of art and delicacies. The GOP Varieté offers show acts from the current program. And in the Deutsches Theater there is dancing and delicious food.

“Rock That Swing” on March 1st, 2025

The Rock That Swing Ball starts the series of two balls at the Rock That Swing Festival. There are live bands from all over the world, DJs and dancing to ensure a great carnival evening.

“Jamboree Ball” on March 2nd, 2025

The Jamboree Ball will then be held as the second highlight of the Rock That Swing Festival.

Es beginnt am 7. Februar 2025 mit dem "Oide Wiesn Bürgerball"

Ja, sie lesen richtig, die Ballsaison eröffnet im Theater mit dem "Oide Wiesn Bürgerball" (der Link führt zu ausführlichen Infos in diesem Blog), der sich längst etabliert hat und gut besucht ist.

 Am 8. Februar 2025 dann der große "Narrhalla Ball"

Freuen wir uns auf die große Soirée der Münchner Faschingsgesellschaft Narrhalla mit dem Faschingsprinzenpaar der Landeshauptstadt, die im traditionellen Prinzenwalzer die Festivitäten eröffnen.

Am 9. Februar 2025 folgt "Pasión de Baile"

Salsa hat längst die Herzen der Tänzerinnen und Tänzer in München erobert und so kommt   Salsa-Ball-Formats "Pasión de Baile" mit einem  Abend voll  mit kubanischem Flair sicherlich auch 2025 gut an.

 

Am Valentinstag, dem  14. Februar 2025 soll "Roses & Love Ball" folgen

Alle Tanzen für eine gute Sache auf dem "Roses & Love Ball" der immerhin unter der Schirmherrschaft von Gloria Gray steht. Sie wird für ein  rauschendes Fest sorgen und den Reinerlös an drei Münchner Herzensprojekte weitergeben.

Tags drauf folgt am 15. Februar 2025 der große "Ball der Nationen"

Kein geringerer als die Tanzprofis vom "Tanzsportclub Gelb-Schwarz-Casino München" laden auch in diesem Jahr wieder zum großen "Ball der Nationen" ein. Man kann dabei sein, wenn die berühmten Paare der Weltspitze in den Standardtänzen um die 74. Trophäe tanzen.

Es folgt am 16. Februar 2025 der "Bal Classique"

Den Bal Classique feiern die Jungen Münchner Symphoniker  als „den“ eleganten Faschingsball Münchens. Ganze 30 Jahren erfreut sich der Ball der Klassik größter Beliebtheit. Er ist in München wirklich ein fester Bestandteil der Ballsaison

Weiter gehts am 21. Februar 2025 mit dem "Gaudeamus Ball"

Unter dem Motto "Gaudeamus igitur" - lateinisch für „Lasst uns also fröhlich sein!" - feiern am 21. Februar im Deutschen Theater die Katholischen Korporationen Münchens ihren wohl größten Akademikerball. Der Ball ist für alle offen. Ein junges Faschings-Publikum wird beim Gaudeamus-Ball tanzen und ausgiebig feiern.

Sodann geht es am 22. Februar 2025 in die berühmte "Münchner Tanznacht"

Darauf freuen sich das ganze Jahr die Münchner Tanzschulen, die alle Tanzbegeisterten für eine  rauschende Tanznacht voller Musik  zusammen bringen! Diese Faschings-Tanznacht wird von allen Tanzschulen als  Gemeinschaftsprojekt für jedes Tänzerherz gestaltet.

Der "Kinderfasching" am 23. Februar 2025 lädt dann den Nachwuchs ein

Verkleidet als Piloten, Astronauten, Prinzessinnen, Zauberer und so weiter, werden die Kleinen beim Kinderfasching im Deutschen Theater mit Musik und lustigen Spielen durch zusätzliche spannende Auftritte unterhalten.

"Ball der Sterne" am 27. Februar 2025

Der Ball der Sterne bringt jedes Jahr ungewöhnlichen Konzepte in die Ballhalle. Die Gäste freuen sich auf den Swing des Orchesters Hugo Strasser und tanzen auch zu Walzerklängen des Orchesters

"ball.total" am 28. Februar 2025

Der 12.  ball.total ist eine Mischung aus Kunst und Köstlichkeiten. Das GOP Varieté bietet Show-Acts des laufenden Programms. Und im Deutsche Theater wird getanzt und köstlich gespeist.

"Rock That Swing" am 01. März 2025

Mit dem Rock That Swing-Ball startet die Reihe von zwei Bällen des Rock That Swing Festivals. Es gibt Livebands aus aller Welt, DJs und Tanz für  einen tollen Faschings-Abend sorgen.

"Jamboree Ball"  am 02. März 2025

Der Jamboree Ball wird dann als der zweite Höhepunkt des Rock That Swing Festivals veranstaltet.

Der Münchner Ball "089 Kult" am 03. März 2025
