Unfortunately, the stylish fashion celebration on February 1st, the "Dance in Traditional Dress" event, is already sold out. This event invites guests not only to indulge in delicious food but also to network. However, there are still three carnival events at the Donisl, for which tickets are only available on the day of the event and only on-site: Firstly, there's the Thursday before Ash Wednesday, which falls on February 12th this year, and secondly, the highlight of Carnival on Rose Monday, February 16th, and finally Shrove Tuesday, which brings Carnival season in Munich to a close on February 17th. DONISL, located at Weinstrasse 1, is right on Marienplatz in Munich... and is always worth a visit! A must for Munich visitors who want to experience authentic Bavarian pub culture!

The Donisl - Munich's traditional restaurant on Marienplatz

The building that houses the restaurant dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was used as a grain measurer's house from 1315 onwards. Four centuries later, Max List opened his "Bierwirtschaft am Markt" (beer tavern at the market) there in 1715. The Donisl got its name from Dionysius Haertl, who leased the establishment in 1760. … we'll skip ahead here (the complete list of proprietors is available on the website donisl.com) and go directly to the current proprietor, Peter Reichert, who, as tenant for almost five years (as of 2021), together with his partner Franziska Kohlpaintner and 50 employees, has transformed this traditional Bavarian restaurant near the town hall into a special place with fantastic culinary events.

A deep connection to the local culture and the cosmopolitan outlook of the Bavarian capital create a truly authentic Munich atmosphere.

High-quality Hacker-Pschorr beer is served from wooden barrels alongside Bavarian and traditional Munich dishes… and from time to time, you can enjoy live Bavarian music, which has surprised us on many a visit to the pub and added to that feeling of home.

February 12, 2026: On Shrove Thursday, the party will be in full swing at Donisl from 4 pm until 1 am.

Munich's biggest pub carnival is on offer!!!

Munich's market traders and fairground operators are throwing THE carnival party right on Marienplatz; the Prince and Princess of Munich's market traders and fairground operators, the men's ballet "Fun Unlimited," and the men's guard "Kirnarra" will all be there. Everyone will be celebrating on two levels, and DJ Christian will be providing the party atmosphere.

Charivari 95.5 will also be at the Donisl on Rose Monday, with DJs spinning tunes on two floors to keep the party going.

Tickets for this event are also only available at the Donisl on February 16, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM – ticket price per person: €20.

February 17, 2026 - Grand Carnival Party on Shrove Tuesday (from 2 PM to midnight)

On Shrove Tuesday, the fun reaches its climax in two areas. Various DJs will be spinning party hits and classic German songs while the bar is open.

L'edificio che ospita il ristorante risale al Medioevo, quando dal 1315 in poi fu utilizzato come casa di un misuratore di grano. Quattro secoli dopo, nel 1715, Max List aprì lì la sua "Bierwirtschaft am Markt" (birreria al mercato). Il Donisl prese il nome da Dionysius Haertl, che affittò il locale nel 1760. ... andiamo avanti (l'elenco completo dei proprietari è disponibile sul sito web donisl.com) e passiamo direttamente all'attuale proprietario, Peter Reichert, che, in qualità di affittuario per quasi cinque anni (dal 2021), insieme alla sua socia Franziska Kohlpaintner e a 50 dipendenti, ha trasformato questo ristorante tradizionale bavarese vicino al municipio in un luogo speciale con fantastici eventi culinari.

Un profondo legame con la cultura locale e la visione cosmopolita della capitale bavarese creano un'atmosfera monacense davvero autentica.

Le bâtiment qui abrite le restaurant date du Moyen Âge. À partir de 1315, il servait de maison de mesureur de grains. Quatre siècles plus tard, en 1715, Max List y ouvrit sa « Bierwirtschaft am Markt » (brasserie au marché). Le Donisl doit son nom à Dionysius Haertl, qui loua l'établissement en 1760. … Passons maintenant à l'actuel propriétaire, Peter Reichert, qui, en tant que locataire depuis près de cinq ans (en 2021), a transformé, avec sa partenaire Franziska Kohlpaintner et une cinquantaine d'employés, ce restaurant bavarois traditionnel situé près de l'hôtel de ville en un lieu unique proposant des événements culinaires exceptionnels.

Un lien profond avec la culture locale et l'ouverture cosmopolite de la capitale bavaroise confèrent à ce pub une atmosphère munichoise authentique.

La bière Hacker-Pschorr, de grande qualité, est servie directement des fûts en bois, accompagnée de plats bavarois et traditionnels munichois… et, de temps à autre, on peut y apprécier de la musique bavaroise en direct, une agréable surprise lors de nos nombreuses visites, qui contribue à cette impression de convivialité.

Les commerçants et forains munichois organisent LA fête du carnaval sur la Marienplatz ! Le Prince et la Princesse des commerçants et forains de Munich, le ballet masculin « Fun Unlimited » et la garde masculine « Kirnarra » seront présents. La fête se déroulera sur deux niveaux et DJ Christian assurera l’ambiance.

Les billets pour cet événement sont disponibles uniquement au Donisl ce jour-là, à partir de 14h, au prix de 15 €.

16 février 2026 : Grande fête du Carnaval avec service de bar le lundi des Roses (de 16h à 1h).

Charivari 95.5 sera également présent au Donisl le lundi des Roses, avec des DJ qui mixeront sur deux pistes pour faire danser toute la nuit.

Der Donisl - die Münchner Traditionsgaststätte am Marienplatz

Das Haus der Gaststätte stammt aus dem Mittelalter, wo es ab 1315 als Kornmesserhaus genutzt wurde. Vier Jahrhunderte später sollt Max List seine „Bierwirtschaft am Markt“ (1715) eröffnen. Der Donisl bekam seinen Namen von Dionysius Haertl, der 1760 das Lokal pachtete. … wir kürzen an dieser Stelle ab (die Reihenfolge der Wirtsleute wird auf der Homepage donisl.com ausführlich dargestellt) und kommen direkt zu dem heutigen Wirt Peter Reichert, der als Pächter seit fast 5 Jahren (2021) zusammen mit seiner Lebensgefährtin Franziska Kohlpaintner und 50 Mitarbeitern diese ur-bayerische Traditionsgaststätte am Rathaus zu einem besonderen Ort mit tollen kulinarischen Events gestaltet hat.

 Heimatverbundenheit und die Weltoffenheit der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt lassen hier das Münchner Lebensg‘fui (Legensgefühl) spüren.

Es wird hochwertiges Hacker-Pschorr Bier aus Holzfässern zu bayrischen und traditionellen altmünchner Speisen serviert … und von Zeit zu Zeit erlebt man hier Bayerische Live-Musik, die uns bei so manchem Wirtshausbesuch überraschte und zusätzliches Heimatg'fui erzeugte.

Angekündigt ist hier der größte Wirtshausfasching Münchens !!! 

Die Münchner Marktkaufleute und Schausteller feiern DIE Faschingsparty direkt am Marienplatz; dabei sein wird das Prinzenpaar der Münchner Marktkaufleute und Schausteller, das Männerballett „Fun Unlimited“ sowie die Männergarde „Kirnarra“. Alle werden auf zwei Ebenen feiern und – für die Partystimmung sorgt DJ Christian.

Kartenverkauf gibt es an diesem Tag für diese Feier nur im Donisl - ab 14:00 Uhr - Eintritt 15,- €

16. Februar 2026: Großer Wirtshaus Fasching mit Barbetrieb am Rosenmontag (von 16 bis 1 Uhr nachts)

Am Rosenmontag ist Charivari 95.5 im Donisl ebenfalls dabei, wenn auf zwei Ebenen wechselnde Djs für Partystimmung sorgen.

17. Februar 2026 - Großer Wirtshaus Fasching am Faschingsdienstag (von 14 bis 0 Uhr)

Am Faschingsdienstag geht der Spaß in zwei Areas in die Endrunde. Bei Barbetrieb mit Partyhits und Schlager Oldies legen verschiedene DJ's auf.
