Tipp: Lichtentaler Allee with Dahlia Garden in Baden-Baden

Baden-Baden: Dahlia Garden 2026 – "Beauty Contest": THE DAHLIA OF 2026

The Dahlia Garden – The most beautiful dahlia of all has been chosen: It bears the name "Kazusa-Shiranami" and stands as the winning dahlia of the Baden-Baden Dahlia Garden for 2026...

For flower enthusiasts, we have compiled photographic impressions of the Baden-Baden dahlias currently in bloom, taken on October 6, 2026

Baden-Baden. Flowers taller than a person entice visitors to the Lichtentaler Allee... Sunshine, blue skies, fresh air, the lush green of trees—some over 150 years old—already turning here and there into a reddish gold, and the gentle babbling of the small river winding its way from Lichtental Abbey to the spa town. Pavilions like the Bénazet Pavilion appear here and there, leading eventually to the famous Dahlia Garden on Baden-Baden’s Lichtentaler Allee. This blooming garden continues to attract tourists even in October. A total of 1,800 dahlias find their home here between the Klosterwiese meadow and the Oos River, which babbles along nearby. The Dahlia Garden, designed by Garden Director Walter Rieger, has existed since 1967. Baden-Baden is likely the only spa town that has spent the last few weeks searching for the most beautiful dahlia. Among the 64 blooming, colorful four-o'clock flowers, one variety was ultimately chosen by 500 visitors: the "Kazusa-shiranami" in flowerbed No. 55.

The "Kazusa-shiranami"

Originating in Japan, it reaches a height of nearly two meters and boasts incredibly large blooms—larger than a spread hand. Resembling an explosion of dark red, the flower seems to spray its color outward from the center, with countless petals reaching toward a white outer edge.
