Classic Car - Garage Treasure - DeLorean. After all, it had the starring role in the film "Back to the Future" by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis (screenplay). The DeLorean. It could fly across all time boundaries and fascinated science fiction fans worldwide. Michael J. Fox traveled through time in it, and Doc Brown made it possible. The vehicle was named after John Zachary DeLorean of General Motors. Only about 9,000 were built between 1981 and 1982. The body was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, and the chassis came from Lotus. Production of the sports car at the DeLorean Motor Company LTD in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland, ceased entirely after the first two years. Designed for the US market, the sports car found no buyers. Technical Specifications for the DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean with the production code "DMC-12" has a water-cooled, longitudinally mounted, 6-cylinder V-engine. Its displacement is 2849 cc, producing a respectable 132 hp. The car sits low and long on the road, an impression confirmed by its dimensions. At 4.27 m long and 1.99 m wide (with the gullwing doors closed), it's only 1.14 m high. Anyone sitting inside is more like lying down – at eye level with a German Shepherd and other small dogs. The total weight of this stainless steel, fiberglass-reinforced gullwing is a mere 1268 kg. Only the doors are made of pure stainless steel; all other parts are polyurethane. Only two small windows can be opened slightly. A standard kitchen stainless steel cleaner should suffice to maintain the brushed stainless steel body.

DeLorean fans were able to admire eight gullwing models at the classic car meet.

This car was supposed to be virtually rust-free, as evidenced by the matte-polished exterior body panels—built on a fiberglass base. Die-hard DeLorean fans are also familiar with the underbody, which was once preserved with epoxy resin. But even that can age, with all the associated problems: cracks, flaking, and more.

Unfortunately, the road-legal original doesn't have a flux capacitor and isn't exactly a time machine

And the rear-wheel drive isn't exactly fast either. But for those who enjoy tinkering and driving on country roads, the DeLorean bug can easily bite. There's a reason the DeLorean World Tour exists. And at least 8 drivable examples arrived in Munich.

The organizers of the Salzburg Classic Rally, B&M Marketing, are now accepting registrations for the September classic car rally from September 17th to 19th, 2026. Last year's inaugural event thrilled all participants and spectators, who often lingered along the route, eager to snap a photo of their favorite classic car. The route wound through the green hills, along the serene roads of the Alpine republic, and occasionally climbed to the foothills where mountain passes awaited. The drivers in their magnificent cars showed off their prized possessions and their passengers the breathtaking Alpine panorama. With this, the Salzburger Land-Klassik rally around Wagrain in the Pongau region had arrived, bringing the experience and values ​​of the Bodensee-Klassik and the Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik to this new landscape. 48th International Classic Car Meeting in Baden-Baden

A must-attend event in the annual classic car meeting calendar! A top-class classic car meeting awaits experts and automotive enthusiasts next weekend in the spa town of Baden-Baden on the edge of the Black Forest.

From Friday, July 11th to Sunday, July 13th, 2025, Baden-Baden invites you to the Garage Gold Cure - 20,000 classic car enthusiasts from all over Europe are expected.

Baden-Baden. From July 11th to 13th, 2025, we will meet for the classic car event of the year in the spa gardens and on Kaiserallee: the 48th International Classic Car Meeting Baden-Baden. Anyone familiar with the spa gardens in Baden-Baden appreciates its elegance and lifestyle: during your spa treatments, enjoy a healthy glass of water in the Wandelhalle (Trinkhalle), then through the spa gardens to the casino in the Kurhaus (Kurhaus), indulge in delicious snails in the restaurant, and take a leisurely stroll through Lichtentaler Allee past the LA8 museums, the State Art Gallery, the Frieder Burda Museum, and on to the City Museum. All this can be done elegantly in a 2-horsepower horse-drawn carriage. ... And there's a special treat this weekend, when 350 vintage cars – a total of 80 brands – complement the exclusivity with a garage gold program in the spa gardens.

The classic car scene will experience an open-air museum of automotive history at the 48th International Oldtimer Meeting Baden-Baden

Over 500 classic car entries were submitted to a strict selection panel in recent weeks, which selected only the aforementioned 350 classic cars.

This meeting was first held in 1976 in the spa town of Baden-Baden

At that time, 35 vehicles participated and were admired by around 1,000 visitors. Since then, it has been considered "a must-attend event in the annual classic car meet-up" for international classic car enthusiasts and car fans. The supporting program for the classic car meeting is listed below.

This year's guest of honor is Aston Martin

Every cinephile knows the famous James Bond car: the Aston Martin DB5 (1963-1965). Sean Connery drove it in "Goldfinger," thus establishing the future Bond car, like the Silver Birch Coupé, with a few exceptions. Incidentally, the legendary film car was once auctioned for over 6 million euros.

This year, Audi is the guest of honor at the classic car meeting

Audi will be showcased in an exclusive special exhibition highlighting the milestones of the Audi brand. Furthermore, the Audi Center Baden-Baden and the Bauschatz-Gerstenmaier automobile group will shed light on the history of the four rings.

Concours d'Elegance Automobile

The classic car meeting traditionally takes place on the second weekend in July in the spa gardens and Kaiserallee. A highlight in Baden-Baden is the Concours d'Elegance Automobile. A total of 120 prizes are awarded to the winners – judged on condition, originality, or beauty.

Participants who travel the furthest with their cars or who present particularly interesting "classic car history" will also be honored.

All vehicles built before 1975 will be judged by the classic car jury – the experts here are automotive designers, engineers, and the organizer.

Du 11 au 13 juillet 2025, rendez-vous pour l'événement automobile de l'année dans les jardins de la station thermale et sur la Kaiserallee : la 48e Rencontre Internationale de Voitures de Collection de Baden-Baden. Quiconque connaît les jardins thermaux de Baden-Baden apprécie leur élégance et leur art de vivre : pendant vos soins, savourez un verre d'eau bienfaisante dans la Wandelhalle (Trinkhalle), traversez les jardins thermaux jusqu'au casino du Kurhaus (Kurhaus), savourez de délicieux escargots au restaurant et flânez tranquillement dans la Lichtentaler Allee, en passant par les musées LA8, la Galerie nationale d'art, le musée Frieder Burda et le musée municipal. Tout cela peut se faire avec élégance dans une calèche de deux chevaux. … Et ce week-end, une surprise spéciale : 350 voitures anciennes – 80 marques au total – complètent l'exclusivité avec un programme de garage en or dans les jardins thermaux.

L'histoire de l'automobile de collection sera présentée dans un musée à ciel ouvert lors du 48e Salon international des voitures anciennes de Baden-Baden

Plus de 500 voitures de collection ont été soumises à un jury de sélection rigoureux ces dernières semaines, qui n'a retenu que les 350 véhicules mentionnés précédemment.

Ce rassemblement a eu lieu pour la première fois en 1976 dans la ville thermale de Baden-Baden.

À l'époque, 35 véhicules y participaient et étaient admirés par environ 1 000 visiteurs. Depuis, il est considéré comme un événement incontournable du rendez-vous annuel des voitures de collection pour les passionnés et les passionnés d'automobile du monde entier. L'invitée d'honneur de cette année est Aston Martin

Cette année, Audi est l'invité d'honneur du rassemblement de voitures de collection

Audi sera mise à l'honneur lors d'une exposition spéciale exclusive mettant en lumière les étapes marquantes de la marque. De plus, le Centre Audi de Baden-Baden et le groupe automobile Bauschatz-Gerstenmaier mettront en lumière l'histoire des quatre anneaux.

La première Rolls-Royce électrique de collection immatriculée en Allemagne

Une Silver Dawn de 1952 illustre l'alliance parfaite entre tradition automobile et technologie moderne.

Le dimanche après-midi, tous les participants se réjouissent du
Concours d'Élégance Automobile

Ce rassemblement de voitures de collection a traditionnellement lieu le deuxième week-end de juillet dans les jardins thermaux et sur la Kaiserallee. Le Concours d'Élégance Automobile est un événement phare à Baden-Baden. Au total, 120 prix sont décernés aux lauréats, jugés sur l'état, l'originalité ou la beauté.

Les participants ayant parcouru le plus de kilomètres avec leur voiture ou présentant une « histoire de l'automobile de collection » particulièrement intéressante seront également récompensés.

Tous les véhicules construits avant 1975 seront jugés par le jury des voitures de collection, composé de designers automobiles, d'ingénieurs et de l'organisateur.
