IAA MOBILITY 2025: Startups in Focus

70 Startups - International founders present their innovations and solutions at the IAA MOBILITY in Munich

Munich. In addition to the world's largest mobility and tech companies, around 70 international startups will present their ideas for digital and climate-friendly mobility at the IAA MOBILITY 2025. The entrepreneurs will take advantage of this unique opportunity to showcase their work among leading international companies and establish new partnerships. The fields of artificial intelligence (AI), digital solutions, charging infrastructure, solutions related to autonomous driving (AD), and recycling and the circular economy are particularly well represented among the registered startups.

VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel makes it clear:

"Startups are an important part of the IAA Summit, which will take place from September 9 to 12, 2025, at the Munich-Riem exhibition center. The fact is: Collaboration between startups and established companies in the automotive and tech industries can make a significant contribution to overcoming current challenges. There are already numerous success stories in this area."

In 2025, startups from almost 20 countries will be presenting

such as China, Germany, Estonia, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, the USA, and Austria.

"Our three Startup Areas are located in Halls A2, B2, and B3 and offer participating startups high visibility. Each of these Startup Areas will attract many visitors, as they are located in close proximity to the larger exhibitors. At IAA MOBILITY 2025, we will once again bring together a variety of startups, investors, and industry leaders," says Mindel.

This strategy has proven successful and will continue to improve. "A full 90 percent of visitors rated the Startup Areas as one of the top areas of IAA MOBILITY 2023 and will visit them again in 2025," adds Christian Vorländer, Vice President Mobility at Messe München.

München. Neben den weltweit größten Mobility- und Tech-Unternehmen werden auf der IAA MOBILITY 2025 etwa 70 internationale Startups ihre Ideen für eine digitale und klimafreundliche Mobilität vorstellen. Die Unternehmerinnen und Unternehmer nutzen die einmalige Gelegenheit, sich zwischen international führenden Unternehmen zu präsentieren und neue Partnerschaften einzugehen. Thematisch besonders stark vertreten unter den angemeldeten Startups sind die Bereiche Künstliche Intelligenz (KI), Digital Solutions, Charging Infrastructure, Lösungen rund um das Thema Autonomes Fahren (AD) und die Themen Recycling und Circular Economy.

VDA-Geschäftsführer Jürgen Mindel macht deutlich: 

„Startups sind ein wichtiger Bestandteil des IAA Summit, der vom 09. bis 12. September 2025 auf dem Messegelände in München-Riem stattfindet. Fakt ist: Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Startups und etablierten Unternehmen der Automobil- und Tech-Industrie kann bei der Bewältigung aktueller Herausforderungen einen wichtigen Beitrag leisten. Hier gibt es bereits etliche Erfolgsgeschichten.“

2025 präsentieren sich Startups aus fast 20 Ländern

wie China, Deutschland, Estland, Frankreich, Israel, Italien, Japan, Luxemburg, Niederlande, Norwegen, Rumänien, Südkorea, Schweden, Schweiz, Taiwan, Tunesien, Ukraine, USA und Österreich.


„Unsere drei Startup Areas befinden sich in den Hallen A2, B2 und B3 und offerieren den teilnehmenden Startups hohe Sichtbarkeit. Jede dieser Startup Areas wird viele Besucherinnen und Besucher verzeichnen, da sie sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zu den größeren Ausstellern befinden. Auf der IAA MOBILITY 2025 führen wir wieder ganz gezielt verschiedene Startups, Investoren sowie Branchenführer zusammen“, so Mindel.

Diese Strategie hat sich durchgesetzt und wird weiterhin verbessert. „Ganze 90 Prozent der Besucher bewerteten die Startup Areas als einen der Top-Bereiche der IAA MOBILITY 2023 und werden diese 2025 wieder besuchen“, ergänzt Christian Vorländer, Geschäftsbereichsleiter Mobility der Messe München.
