Munich - Live concerts 2025. Iggy Pop, the "Godfather of Punk" meets Patti Smith, the Godmother of Punk at the Tollwood Summer Festival! Iggy Pop is coming to the Tollwood Summer Festival on June 24th, 2025! The exceptional artist, who shaped music history with songs like “Lust for Life,” “The Passenger” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” will delight fans in the music arena. With over 50 years of stage experience, Iggy Pop stands for pure passion and uncompromising creativity like no other. Iggy Pop is a living legend of rock music history - celebrating the roots of punk and demonstrating its timeless power. The 77-year-old American “Godmother of Punk” Patti Smith will also perform in Munich on July 14, 2025. Patti's "Horses" in 1975 marked the dawn of a new musical age. The Age of Punk! And Patti Smith was there. She was a woman. She rebelled. She wanted freedom. She played the guitar. She sang. At that time Patti was already 29 years old. Their music and their lyrics represented the desire for freedom of an entire generation. Rebel, punk singer, lyricist and all with emotion. This woman is iconic! The “Queen of Cool” started out in New York in the 70s and knew every rock star. Who doesn't know it, your “Because The Night”! By the way, this title was written by Bruce Springsteen.

Munich Summer Festival 2024

Munich: Tollwood Summer Festival from June 21st to July 21st, 2024 in the Olympiapark Süd

The Tollwood Summer Festival in the beautiful Olympic Park brings the finest beer and food culture, art and international live music to Munich

Meeting point “Market of Ideas”, demonstrations and workshops by theater and performance groups and, above all, Tollwood concerts (German, French, Italian)

Munich. The summer festival in Munich's beautiful Olympic Park starts at the beginning of summer and runs parallel to the 2024 European Football Championship. The motto of the Tollwood summer this year is "Together: Stop!" - for democracy and protecting the earth. For a full 32 days, the park at the stadium, which was built for the Olympic Games in 1972, will attract many music fans, people interested in culture and visitors to Munich. As every year, there is the colorful “Market of Ideas”, demonstrations and workshops by theater and performance groups and, above all, Tollwood concerts with international live music. In addition to handicrafts from all over the world, the organic gastronomy allows you to enjoy and relax. By the way, more than 90 percent of all events do not charge an entry fee!

International stars in the music arena

Let's put it this way: the opening weekend on the evening of June 21st and 22nd will give you goosebumps when ALL visitors will make the Olympiapark Süd sing together because there will be singing. For example, the songs “Give Peace a Chance” by John Lennon and “Let the Sunshine In” from the musical Hair. Thousands are expected to raise their voices in rhythmic singing. And drones will write glowing symbols that can be seen from afar in the night sky. The song symbolizes the festival's motto "Together: Stop!"

Maurice Ravel's Bolero will be a catchy tune for festival visitors

This world-famous piece of music will fill the Tollwood Festival on June 25th and 29th and July 2nd, 4th, 9th, 13th, 17th and 21st. The masterpiece of music history will be set to music by an orchestra whose instrumentation is tailored to the open air situation and in a version tailored to the site. The organizer says: It will be great musical fun!

Tollwood celebrates beer culture

There would be no Tollwood summer festival without the big breweries and also not without new, small and innovative brewers.  Organic beer, craft beer and a changing beer culture that offers beer-based cocktails, for example, are also announced. There are also delicious dishes: hearty or delicate, which harmonize with the barley juice.

The Tollwood culture, which rounds off the Bavarian national drink, also goes well with beer enjoyment

For example, this will be the case

  •     Pastor Rainer Maria Schiessler presents a sharp-tongued cabaret for a morning pint,
  •     there is a pub quiz to test your beer knowledge;
  •     there is dialect
  •     and always music

People are excitedly waiting for the newly designed “Wüda Hund” craft beer garden and the brasserie.

Tollwood offers 500 events in the Munich Olympic Park

  •     The newly designed art space invites you to create art together: Together:Stop!
  •     The Half Moon Bar invites you to dance with dance classes and the silent disco.

  •     In the amphitheater, enchanting artists delight the audience.
  •     In the Andechser tent, which will be managed this summer by Nikola Strnad and Klaus Dalheimer, there will be 66 times of the finest live music.
  •     The moon hovers above it on Andechser Hügel - with the Museum of the Moon, Luke Jerram lets the earth's satellite shine again over the Tollwood Summer Festival.

Tollwood offers for children and young people

  •     wide range of crafts,
  •     cooking together
