The art and culture weekend in Munich

Munich. At the weekend, 30,000 art lovers came to the Munich museums for the Long Night, countless more took advantage of the residency week to get to know the castles, and many visited the Munich Highlight art fair to see unique collector's art that international and renowned regional gallerists presented in the residency can be seen in its original form before many of the gems found their way into private or museum hands. And Munich shone!

Munich's art and culture scene made the city shine

The Long Night of the Munich Museums, the Munich Highlights, an art fair of international superlatives and the Residence Week made the last weekend a golden October weekend. Overall, an extraordinary festival of art was celebrated.

At the HIGHLIGHS art fair we saw David Yarrow, Helmut Newton, Douglas Kirkland, Markus Klinko and other icons of photo art at the exhibition stand of the Stephen Hoffman Gallery - Fine Art Photography -, we can find the gallery in Munich at Prannerstrasse 5 (back of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof) - Photo: at the 15th Highlights 2024, Helga Waess (press archive)

The Munich art and culture scene breathed PURE ART this weekend!

Over 100 museums and special places opened their doors. The day and night belonged to art! Those works that allow us to breathe deeper and not only impress, but make life more beautiful. Atmospherically lit museums and magnificent art presentations became a magnet for the public and, here and there, for collectors.

“The 25th Long Night of Museums has once again transformed the city into a large, fascinating cultural world. The mix of large, well-known institutions and hidden places creates unique moments every year,” said David Boppert, Managing Director of Münchner Kultur GmbH. “This anniversary was a special experience that impressively showcased the diversity and liveliness of culture in Munich.” = in German:
„Die 25. Lange Nacht der Museen hat die Stadt wieder in eine große faszinierende Kulturwelt verwandelt. In addition to the tower tour in the German Museum, it was also the reopened State Archaeological Collection, the new fire brigade exhibition and of course the Bavarian State Collections in the art area that made the night short.
