The "Market of Ideas" takes place as a pre-Christmas event on the Theresienwiese in Munich until December 23, 2025  (Français, Italiano, Deutsch, English)

MUNICH. The Tollwood Winter Festival features 300 events – around 90 percent of which are free of charge. "This allows everyone to experience artistry, theater, and art," explains Stefanie Kneer, spokesperson for the Tollwood Winter Festival. The fire show by drumatical theatre, accompanied by drum rhythms à la Blue Man Group, is taking place at the Theresienwiese subway exit until Sunday, December 7. At the performance area, everyone can create their own art – at the "Celestial Sound Cloud" until Sunday, December 14. And then it gets musical: in the cauldron there is live music every day with Schlager, Country, Rock, Blues, Soul,
Swing, Jazz and Pop.

Fiery rhythms with glowing drumsticks

It's the unique combination of driving beats and a spectacular fire show that drumatical theatre presents
until December 7th at the Tollwood Winter Festival's fire show area. A
special highlight is the finale: an oversized cube engulfed in flames whirls across the
stage.

Body art becomes sound and light

Sounding bodies, celestial tones that float like a large cloud above the performance space:
In the “Celestial Sound Cloud,” which spans the performance space at the Tollwood grounds,
the audience creates the music with their own bodies...

Witches' Cauldron - Experience Live Music - Free Admission

In the Witches' Cauldron, the musical heart of the Tollwood Winter Festival, 63 bands will thrill audiences with their unique sounds.

From November 25th to December 23rd, a diverse program awaits you daily.

Special events for the youngest festival guests and their companions:

In addition to interactive readings with storyteller Andy Kuhn, the bands Tom & Heiner and Die Muckemacher invite you to joyful children's concerts.

At least 180 market stalls at the Market of Ideas offer all sorts of gift ideas, and over 50 food vendors offer international organic dishes from India to Taiwan. One drink you should definitely try is that tastes like liquid, hot apple strudel. And you can try your hand at curling on a curling rink.

It's over! On December 23rd, 2024, the entire Tollwood Winter Festival closes at 10 p.m (Zhōngguó rén, DEUTSCH, Français, Italiano, Nederlands)

Munich. Today there will be time again for the “Market of Ideas” and all the other attractions before the festival closes for this year on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10 p.m. - Don't worry: the big New Year's Eve party is taking place! Tomorrow you will find Christmas presents and crafts of all kinds at the winter festival. This is where creativity meets inspiration! Enjoy the winter atmosphere once again and stroll through the festival on the Theresienwiese, snack and meet friends.

 If it rains you can quickly go to the “Mercato” market tent...

This is the smaller of the two tents of the “Market of Ideas”. There are handicrafts there, which are mainly offered in fair trade quality. And for your physical well-being, you can go to the “EssZimmer” dining tent in a great upcycled pallet furniture ambience and under pasta sieve lamps. In the bazaar tent you can find great Christmas gifts such as unique pieces made of glass and ceramics from all over the world, door signs, picture frames and even international clothing...

  Or just something good to drink?

There are two bars with refreshing cold drinks, warming fruit punch or always mulled wine.

For the little ones, the children's tent is the highlight of the winter festival

•     From 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., youngsters can make gifts or create a colorful circus world with free admission. The great masks, colorful circus decorations and small, self-painted works of art created here inspire everyone.
•     And finally, there is a bedtime story for all children from 6:40 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., admission is also free.

Once again for curling at Tollwood on the Oktoberfest meadow

On December 23rd, athletes and everyone else can go to the curling rink from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

ymedioteatro: “SIE7E” brings theater, cabaret & performances to the performance stage

From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. you can be there again with free admission at ymedioteatro: the miniature theater that tells stories with its nostalgic fairground charm. All stars are played and quickly transformed by the hands of the performers. They become a figure using a small bag and become a guitarist using their spoon as an electric guitar, etc.

Peter Voice - Rock 'n' Roll, Rockabilly & West Coast Country

There will be a free live concert by the musician Peter Voice from Allershausen in the Hexenkessel tent from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with free admission. He covers songs from rock 'n roll or country music such as those by Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and Chris Stapleton.

    In the Funkenwerkstatt there is the Soul on Fire - performances on the fire show site

•     The fire show area will be heated up from 5:00 p.m. to max. 5:25 p.m. with free admission
•     and then again from 6:30 p.m. to max. 6:55 p.m. with free entry
•     and then again from 7:30 p.m. to max. 7:55 p.m. with free entry

And there is one last time for everyone: Tollwood shines  

On the festival grounds we will experience the light performance “Tollwood shines” again from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 7:07 p.m. with free entry

On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, admission to the party with live music from 7:30 p.m. until open end at the Tollwood Winter Festival on the Theresienwiese (partially seated) opens at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available for under 40 euros from the organizer and advance booking offices.

Tickets for The 7 Fingers are in demand - “Romeo and Juliet” - now there is an additional performance on December 22nd, 2024, at 2 p.m - at the Oktoberfest meadow in Munich

Munich. The Canadian company The 7 Fingers will perform from December 17th to 22nd, 2024. A “duel reality” show transforms Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” into a play about rivalry and solidarity.  Artistry, dance and acting elements will fascinate visitors to the Cirque Nouveau. There are athletic feats in one of the most emotional stories in world literature. There is no stop between the audience and the stage; the company involves the audience emotionally and intellectually in the event. The big question of our time “Which is stronger – separation through conflict or bonding through community?” will be provided!!! Admission to the Tollwood Winter Festival is free.

Tollwood Winter Festival from November 26th to December 22nd, 2024

MUNICH. The Tollwood Winter Festival starts on November 26th at Theresienwiese in Munich... and what is it? Even as the golden October warms up the Bavarian capital, the winter festival on the Theresienwiese is already being set up. You can hardly believe your eyes: Oktoberfest dismantling and Tollwood construction merge into one another (see photos). The first large tents of the Tollwood Winter Festival are already on the Munich Oktoberfest meadow. And in fact in a month, on November 26th, the market of ideas, the concerts, the gastronomy and the big circus will start at the Grand Chapiteau with Circa, Circo Zoé and The 7 Fingers! These three are the most interesting companies in the circus scene worldwide. They come to us at Theresienwiese from three continents and play in the Tollwood theater tent. Until December 22nd, the pre-Christmas period will be contemplative, exciting and eventful. ... and then everything closes before the unique Tollwood New Year's Eve party with huge fireworks starts here on December 31, 2024. In 2000, the Tollwood Festival took over the Theresienwiese in the heart of Munich for the first time

 
The Tollwood Winter Festival on the Oktoberfest meadow has long been part of Munich, which has a new motto every year and, as a reflection of a multicultural society, invites you to celebrate and enjoy. At the Christmas “Market of Ideas”, artisans offer great work and the many gastronomic offerings from all over the world bring an international flair to Munich.
