Hanover. This year, the prestigious HERMES AWARD goes to Siemens. The company receives this coveted innovation prize for AI-supported industrial copilots that comprehensively cover the industrial value chain. An independent jury headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, selected the winner from among three nominated companies. For more than 20 years, Deutsche Messe AG has honored one company with the HERMES AWARD annually at HANNOVER MESSE. This is the most important international industry award. It recognizes a product or solution with a particularly high degree of technological innovation. Market readiness is an important criterion.

The award-winning solution is AI-powered Industrial Copilots, which increase workforce efficiency by eliminating repetitive tasks and boosting productivity

 For example, the Industrial Copilot for the Siemens engineering framework TIA Portal, which has more than 120,000 users worldwide, enables engineers of all experience levels to write precise, trustworthy code much faster. Siemens offers an industrial-grade suite of Industrial Copilots that comprehensively covers the industrial value chain – from design and planning to engineering, operations, and service. This solution makes generative AI accessible to many companies. Both cloud and on-premises versions are available, operating locally on the shop floor to meet different requirements.

Hannover. In diesem Jahr geht der renommierte HERMES AWARD an Siemens. Der Konzern erhält diesen begehrten Innovationspreis für KI-gestützte Industrial Copilots, die die industrielle Wertschöpfungskette ganzheitlich abdecken. Eine unabhängige Jury unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, Präsident der Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, ermittelte den Sieger unter drei nominierten Unternehmen. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren zeichnet die Deutsche Messe AG alljährlich im Rahmen der HANNOVER MESSE ein Unternehmen mit dem HERMES AWARD aus. Dabei handelt es sich um den international bedeutendsten Industriepreis. Ausgezeichnet wird ein Produkt beziehungsweise eine Lösung mit einem besonders hohen technologischen Innovationsgrad. Dabei ist die Marktreife ein wichtiges Kriterium.

Bei der prämierten Lösung handelt es sich um KI-gestützte Industrial Copilots, die die Effizienz der Arbeitskräfte steigern, indem sie repetitive Aufgaben eliminieren und die Produktivität erhöhen 

Mit dem Industrial Copilot für das Siemens-Engineering-Framework TIA Portal, das weltweit mehr als 120.000 Nutzer*innen hat, werden beispielsweise Ingenieur*innen aller Erfahrungsstufen in die Lage versetzt, präzisen, vertrauenswürdigen Code viel schneller zu schreiben. Siemens bietet eine industrietaugliche Suite von Industrial Copilots, die die industrielle Wertschöpfungskette ganzheitlich abdeckt – von Design und Planung bis hin zu Engineering, Betrieb und Service. Diese Lösung macht generative KI für viele Unternehmen zugänglich. Angeboten werden sowohl Cloud- als auch On-Premises-Versionen, die lokal auf dem Shopfloor arbeiten, um unterschiedliche Anforderungen zu erfüllen.

Scholz opened the first Hannover Messe after the Corona period with the promise: "A lot has been left undone in recent years, but we're catching up now." The Chancellor visited several dozen booths today. The main theme of the fair this year is "Industrial Transformation". The main focus here is on the exhibition areas Automation, Motion & Drives, Digital Ecosystems, Energy Solutions, Engineered Parts & Solutions, Future Hub, Compressed Air & Vacuum and Global Business & Markets. And how could it be otherwise, it is also about the current top topics of Industry 4.0, CO2-neutral production, artificial intelligence, machine learning, energy management as well as hydrogen and fuel cells. The partner country of the Hannover Messe 2023 this time is Indonesia. The German economy hopes for numerous orders from the partner country and the Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz would like a free trade agreement with Indonesia and would like to expand the raw materials partnership. More than 300 startups at HANNOVER MESSE

This year, many startups will show what is possible with everything from electrolysis systems on a multi-megawatt scale to quantum computers that store information in individual atoms.

The central startup area in Hall 17 consists of an exhibition and stage area. It offers space for product presentations and one-on-one meetings as well as various network formats.

The Global Director at HANNOVER MESSE Basilios Triantafillos told the press: "We offer various participation packages that individually meet the needs of startups ... The supporting program with a stage and special events expands the range of networking opportunities."

In addition to this, Hall 16 is home to the “Young & Innovative Companies” pavilion sponsored by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control.

Industrial Startup Stage: Pioneering spirit enriches the industry

For which problem does my product provide a solution? How do I bring it to market? How can startups and established companies work together effectively? What difficulties can arise? What's new in the world of startups? Answers to these questions can be found on the Industrial Startup Stage in Hall 17 at HANNOVER MESSE.

One of the highlights is the daily pitch session:

There, startups compete against each other in short rounds - on the Monday of the trade fair, for example, companies from the areas of Industry 4.0, "Future of Work" and 5G technology save money. Tuesday puts the spotlight on the Portuguese startup scene. On Wednesday, Carsten Lackner from VRdirekt will give a lecture on "Opportunities and Challenges for Companies in the Metaverse". On Thursday, the project "German Israeli Network of Startups and Mittelstand (GINSUM)", a German-Israeli innovation project by ELNET Deutschland e. V., before. GINSUM connects Israeli companies with German companies and startups. On the Friday of the trade fair, Alexander Wachter from Possehl Online Solutions GmbH will report on the "path from in-house startup to spin-off".

Hannover. Die Weltleitmesse der Industrie, die HANNOVER MESSE 2023 wurde gestern Abend im Beisein von Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz eröffnet. Scholz eröffnete die erste Hannover Messe nach der Corona-Zeit mit dem Versprechen: "In den vergangenen Jahres ist viel liegen geblieben, aber das holen wir jetzt auf."  Der Kanzler besuchte heute mehrere Dutzend Messestande. Das Leitthema der Messe in diesem Jahr lautet „Industrial Transformation“. Es geht hierbei vor allem um die Ausstellungsbereiche Automation, Motion & Drives, Digital Ecosystems, Energy Solutions, Engineered Parts & Solutions, Future Hub, Compressed Air & Vacuum und Global Business & Markets. Und wie sollte es anders sein, es geht auch um die momentanen  Top-Themen Industrie 4.0, CO2-neutrale Produktion, künstliche Intelligenz, maschinelles Lernen, Energiemanagement sowie Wasserstoff und Brennstoffzellen. Das Partnerland der Hannover Messe 2023 ist diesmal Indonesien. Mehr als 300 Startups auf der HANNOVER MESSE 

In diesem Jahr zeigen viele Startups was mit Elektrolysesysteme im Multi-Megawatt-Maßstab bis zu Quantencomputern, die Informationen in einzelnen Atomen speichern, alles möglich ist.

Die zentrale Startup-Area in der Halle 17 besteht aus einer Ausstellungs- und Bühnenfläche. Sie bietet Platz für Produktpräsentationen und Einzelgespräche sowie verschiedene Netzwerkformate.

Der Global Director bei der HANNOVER MESSE  Basilios Triantafillos sagte gegenüber der Presse: „Wir bieten verschiedene Beteiligungspakete, die die Bedürfnisse von Startups individuell erfüllen ... Das Rahmenprogramm mit Bühne und Sonderveranstaltungen erweitert das Angebot zum Netzwerken.“

Ergänzend dazu befindet sich in der Halle 16 der vom Bundesamt für Wirtschaft und Ausfuhrkontrolle geförderte Gemeinschaftsstand „Junge & innovative Unternehmen“.

Industrial Startup Stage: Pioniergeist bereichert die Industrie

Für welches Problem liefert mein Produkt eine Lösung? Wie bringe ich es auf den Markt? Wie können Startups und etablierte Unternehmen effektiv zusammenarbeiten? Welche Schwierigkeiten können sich ergeben? Was gibt es Neues in der Welt der Startups? Antworten auf diese Fragen gibt es auf der Industrial Startup Stage in der Halle 17 der HANNOVER MESSE.

Zu den Highlights zählt die tägliche Pitch-Session: 

Dort treten Startups in kurzen Runden gegeneinander an – am Messemontag zum Beispiel sparren Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Industrie 4.0, „Future of Work“ und 5-G-Technologie. Der Dienstag stellt die portugiesische Startup-Szene ins Rampenlicht. Am Mittwoch referiert Carsten Lackner von VRdirekt zum Thema „Chancen und Herausforderungen für Unternehmen im Metaverse“. Am Donnerstag stellt sich das Projekt „German Israeli Network of Startups and Mittelstand (GINSUM)“, ein deutsch-israelisches Innovationsprojekt von ELNET Deutschland e. V., vor. GINSUM vernetzt israelische Unternehmen mit deutschen Unternehmen und Startups. Am Messefreitag berichtet Alexander Wachter von Possehl Online Solutions GmbH vom „Weg vom Inhouse-Startup zur Ausgründung“.
