Cologne. The August Sander Prize for Portrait Photography was originally established by Ulla Bartenbach and Prof. Dr. Kurt Bartenbach. In 2026, the prize will be awarded for the fifth time in cooperation with the Photographic Collection/SK Foundation for Culture, Cologne. The prize aims to promote young, contemporary artistic approaches in the spirit of objective-conceptual photography. Against the backdrop of August Sander's significant portrait photographs, the focus is on the human portrait. The August Sander Prize is awarded every two years in Cologne. National and international artists born on or after January 1, 1986, specializing in photography are eligible to participate.

• The prize is endowed with €5,000.
• In addition, the Photographic Collection/SK Foundation for Culture will, if possible and upon individual consultation, organize an exhibition of the winner's work.

• Submissions should consist of a largely completed series, from which a maximum of 20 photographic prints can be selected.

• Only works that follow a thematically coherent group or sequence of images will be considered.

Eine Gute Nachricht für nationale und internationale Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die ab dem 1. Januar 1986 geboren wurden und ihre Arbeiten noch einreichen mögen (Español, Deutsch, English, Italiano, Français)

Köln. Der August-Sander-Preis für Porträtphotographie wurde einst von Ulla Bartenbach und Prof. Dr. Kurt Bartenbach gestiftet. Im Jahr 2026 wird der Preis zum fünften Mal in Zusammenarbeit mit der Photographischen Sammlung/ SK Stiftung Kultur, Köln, vergeben.  Der Preis soll weltweit junge zeitgenössische künstlerische Ansätze im Sinne der sachlich-konzeptuellen Photographie fördern. Vor dem Hintergrund der bedeutenden Porträtphotographien von August Sander steht das Thema des menschlichen Porträts im Mittelpunkt. Der August-Sander-Preis wird alle zwei Jahre in Köln verliehen. • Der Preis ist mit 5.000 € dotiert. 
• Dazu richtet die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur nach Möglichkeit und individueller Abstimmung eine Ausstellung mit Arbeiten der Preisträger*in aus.

• Für die Einreichung eignet sich eine schon weitgehend erarbeitete Serie, aus der maximal 20 photographische Abzüge
•  Es werden nur Arbeiten zur Begutachtung herangezogen, die einer thematisch gebundenen Bildgruppe oder Sequenz folgen,

• Die vorgelegten Werke sollen bei anderen Wettbewerben noch keinen Preis erhalten haben.

Der jährliche, traditionelle Tanz der Marktweiber 2026 auf dem Viktualienmarkt in München findet am Faschingsdienstag, dem 17. Februar 2026, statt. Alles beginnt um 10:00 Uhr mit dem Bühnenprogramm, bei dem die Marktfrauen ihre Tänze in bunten und aufwendigen Kostümen zeigen. Diesem  Höhepunkt des Münchner Faschings beendet die heiße Faschingsphase, die im Jahr 2026 um den Rosenmontag (16. Februar) und Weiberfastnacht (12. Die Innenstadtwirte vom Andechser am Dom, Augustiner Klosterwirt, Augustiner Stammhaus, Weissen Bräuhaus im Tal, Augustiner am Platzl, Hofbräuhaus, Zum Franziskaner, Restaurant Donisl, Hackerhaus, Schlagerbar ROY und Der Pschorr (Partykeller Alice).

Ein Event ist das Weißwurstessen bei den Innenstadtwirten am Rosenmontag
 

Am Rosenmontag zum Weißwurstessen! Das ist ein alter Brauch am Montag-Vormittag ab 10 Uhr, denn die Weißwurst darf das Zwölf-Uhr-Läuten nicht hören. 

 

Sonderpreise am Rosenmontag bei den teilnehmenden Wirten:   ein bis zwei Euro pro Weißwurst 

2026 sind zum Beispiel dabei: der Andechser am Dom, der Donisl, das Hofbräuhaus, das Spatenhaus, die Augustiner Wirtschaften am Dom und am Platzl, Klosterwirt und Stammhaus, das Weisse Bräuhaus und der Franziskaner.

 

"Tanz der Marktweiber" (auf diese Wortwahl bestehen sie)

 

Wer die quirligen Frauen in ihren bunten Gewändern einmal gesehen hat oder besser erlebt hat, der ist begeistert. Den Tanz der Marktfrauen vom Viktualienmarkt gibt es in München seit über 100 Jahren. Er wurde ins Leben gerufen um den Ruf der „grantelnde Marktweiber“ aufzupolieren - damals und bis in die 1980er Jahre tanzten sie an ihren Marktständen - die Honigfrau und ihre Kolleginnen. Seit über 30 Jahren wird diese Tradition am Faschingsdienstag auf einer Bühne fortgesetzt. Am letzten Faschingsdienstag um 10 Uhr treten sie auf. Jedes Jahr. Bei jedem Wetter. Dann schweben sie in ihren bunten Kostümen, die jedes Jahr wieder überraschen, über die Bühne auf dem Viktualienmarkt. Sie tanzen und lachen sich in die Herzen der Zuschauer. Die Gewänder der tanzenden Marktfrauen vom Viktualienmarkt sind längst Museumsreif und wie die Damen selbst und ihre Vorführung am Faschingsdienstag ein Stück Münchner Kulturgeschichte.

25 Years of RETRO CLASSICS in Stuttgart - An anniversary for racing fans, brand enthusiasts, lovers of garage treasures, and automotive and motorsport history

The anniversary edition of RETRO CLASSICS 2026 features great stories and powerful emotions - It all kicks off on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (RETRO NIGHT from 6:00 PM)  (Deutsch, English, Italiano, Français)

Stuttgart. Hard to believe, but exactly 25 years ago, classic car, modern classic, racing car, motorsport, and classic car fans, along with exhibitors from the automotive and motorsport history sector, gathered for the first RETRO CLASSICS in Stuttgart. From February 19-22, 2026, this trade fair for driving culture celebrates its quarter-century anniversary. This motor show promises to be something truly special – or so the announcement suggests, piquing our curiosity. Strong highlights will include exceptional special exhibitions, brand-defining milestones, and inspiring personalities from automotive and motorsport history. We can therefore look forward to a spectacular show and in-depth discussions with racing legends, 650 square meters of exhibition space showcasing museum-quality racing cars from Mercedes to Porsche, a special exhibition entitled "Racing Motorcycles of the Solitude Era," the BMW Classic & Type Clubs, and much more.

The major special exhibition forms an emotional core of the show:

"Hans in Luck – HH 97"

In the central atrium at the East Entrance, the exhibition "Hans in Luck – HH 97" pays tribute to the life's work of racing legend Hans Herrmann. Herrmann was one of the most important German racing drivers of the post-war era – he passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 97.

True motor and racing fans will flock to this special exhibition, as it also delves into the history of motorsport.

Herrmann raced against legends like Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. With his talent and driving skills, he influenced an entire generation of motorsport enthusiasts.


His greatest triumph came in 1970 with his overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Porsche 917.

The most important exhibits from his racing career will be displayed in a 650-square-meter space, with support from the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums.

The exhibition is curated and organized by Hans Herrmann biographer Tobias Aichele.

Motorsport history on two wheels takes center stage in Hall 5:

"Racing Motorcycles of the Solitude Era"

The Leonberg General Motorcycle Sports Club (AMSC) presents a unique special exhibition here featuring "Racing Motorcycles of the Solitude Era," which summarizes the most tradition-rich chapter of South German motorsport history.

The announcement of around 40 historic racing motorcycles, offering a unique cross-section of more than a century of racing, is sure to pique interest.

From the early hill climbs at the beginning of the 20th century

• through the Grand Prix era of the 1960s
• to modern cult events like Glemseck 101

Here, the technical and sporting development of motorcycle racing is impressively documented. The track-like presentation and a specially designed pit lane allow the dynamics of the Solitude race track to be experienced spatially.

Another highlight of the anniversary edition is the grand presentation of the BMW Classic & Type Clubs in Hall 7.

The anniversaries of the brand's history offer fascinating insights.

The focus is on:

• 40 years of the BMW M3,
• 50 years of the BMW 6 Series,
• 60 years of the BMW 02,
• and 110 years of BMW.

The presentation is complemented by the 25th anniversary of the BMW Mini Club, featuring classic Mini vehicles.

In addition, we will see selected rarities from the BMW collection:

• the renowned BMW Classic Truck with exclusive exhibits,
• as well as contributions from the BMW Classic Parts Service,

who would like to have an original photograph of racing legends or historic racing cars on their wall:

Unique, limited-edition, and signed collector's photographs of racing legends, taken by Werner Eisele at the racetrack and in the pits, can often be found at the Stephen Hoffman Gallery (Galerie Stephen Hoffman) in Munich, located behind the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.

It's long been a hidden gem, and we've heard that there will soon be another motor racing photography exhibition there (in 2026)!

L'edizione anniversario di RETRO CLASSICS 2026 offre grandi storie ed emozioni intense - Tutto inizia giovedì 19 febbraio 2026, dalle 11:00 alle 19:00 (RETRO NIGHT dalle 18:00) (Deutsch, English, Italiano, Français)

Stoccarda. Difficile da credere, ma esattamente 25 anni fa, gli appassionati di auto d'epoca, auto d'epoca moderne, auto da corsa, motorsport e auto d'epoca, insieme agli espositori del settore della storia dell'automobilismo e del motorsport, si sono riuniti per la prima RETRO CLASSICS a Stoccarda. Dal 19 al 22 febbraio 2026, questa fiera della cultura automobilistica celebra il suo quarto di secolo di attività. Questo salone dell'auto promette di essere qualcosa di davvero speciale, o almeno così suggerisce l'annuncio, stuzzicando la nostra curiosità. Tra i momenti salienti ci saranno mostre speciali eccezionali, pietre miliari che hanno segnato la storia del marchio e personalità ispiratrici della storia dell'automobilismo e del motorsport. Possiamo quindi aspettarci uno spettacolo spettacolare e dibattiti approfonditi con leggende delle corse, 650 metri quadrati di spazio espositivo con auto da corsa di qualità museale, dalla Mercedes alla Porsche, una mostra speciale intitolata "Motociclette da corsa dell'era Solitude", i BMW Classic & Type Club e molto altro ancora.

La grande mostra speciale costituisce il cuore emozionale della mostra:

"Hans in Luck - HH 97"

Nell'atrio centrale dell'ingresso est, la mostra "Hans in Luck - HH 97" rende omaggio all'opera di una vita della leggenda delle corse automobilistiche Hans Herrmann. Herrmann è stato uno dei più importanti piloti tedeschi del dopoguerra, scomparso il 9 gennaio 2026 all'età di 97 anni.

I veri appassionati di motori e corse accorreranno a frotte per questa mostra speciale, che approfondisce anche la storia del motorsport.

Herrmann ha gareggiato contro leggende come Juan Manuel Fangio e Stirling Moss. Con il suo talento e le sue capacità di guida, ha influenzato un'intera generazione di appassionati di motorsport.

Il suo più grande trionfo arrivò nel 1970 con la vittoria assoluta alla 24 Ore di Le Mans a bordo della Porsche 917.

I reperti più importanti della sua carriera agonistica saranno esposti in uno spazio di 650 metri quadrati, con il supporto dei musei Mercedes-Benz e Porsche.

La mostra è curata e organizzata da Tobias Aichele, biografo di Hans Herrmann.

Un degno addio a un'icona del motorsport internazionale.

La storia del motorsport su due ruote è al centro della scena nel Padiglione 5:

"Motociclette da corsa dell'era Solitude"

Il General Motorsports Club di Leonberg (AMSC) presenta qui una mostra speciale unica nel suo genere, "Motociclette da corsa dell'era Solitude", che riassume il capitolo più ricco di tradizione della storia del motorsport della Germania meridionale.

L'esposizione di circa 40 motociclette da corsa storiche, che offrono uno spaccato unico di oltre un secolo di corse, susciterà sicuramente interesse.

Dalle prime cronoscalate all'inizio del XX secolo

• attraverso l'era dei Gran Premi degli anni '60
• fino a moderni eventi cult come Glemseck 101

Qui, lo sviluppo tecnico e sportivo delle corse motociclistiche è documentato in modo impressionante. La presentazione simile a quella di un circuito e una corsia box appositamente progettata permettono di vivere la dinamica del circuito di Solitude in modo spaziale.


Un altro momento clou dell'edizione dell'anniversario è la grande presentazione dei BMW Classic & Type Club nel Padiglione 7.

Gli anniversari della storia del marchio offrono spunti affascinanti.

L'attenzione è rivolta a:

• 40 anni della BMW M3,
• 50 anni della BMW Serie 6,
• 60 anni della BMW 02,
• e 110 anni di BMW.

La presentazione è completata dal 25° anniversario del BMW Mini Club, con veicoli Mini d'epoca.

Inoltre, vedremo rarità selezionate della collezione BMW:

• il rinomato BMW Classic Truck con pezzi esclusivi,
• oltre ai contributi del BMW Classic Parts Service,
• e il Museo e Archivio BMW con speciali esposizioni di motori.

Questo rende l'area un luogo d'incontro per gli appassionati del marchio.

Nel Padiglione 10, l'Automobil-Park Auwärter è dedicato al mondo dei veicoli commerciali storici.

La mostra espone rari

risalenti a circa 70 anni fa, appartenenti alla storia dei veicoli commerciali.

Lo sviluppo del trasporto commerciale è illustrato in modo vivido. Particolare attenzione è rivolta agli

• e ai camion esposti.

25 ans de RETRO CLASSICS à Stuttgart - Un anniversaire pour les passionnés de course, les amateurs de marques, les collectionneurs de voitures anciennes et les férus d'histoire automobile et de sport automobile

L'édition anniversaire de RETRO CLASSICS 2026 promet des histoires passionnantes et des émotions fortes. Rendez-vous le jeudi 19 février 2026, de 11h à 19h (Soirée Rétro à partir de 18h) (Deutsch, English, Italiano, Français)

Stuttgart. Difficile à croire, mais il y a exactement 25 ans, les passionnés de voitures classiques, de voitures de course, de sport automobile et de voitures de collection, ainsi que les exposants du secteur de l'histoire automobile et du sport automobile, se réunissaient à Stuttgart pour la première édition de RETRO CLASSICS. Du 19 au 22 février 2026, ce salon dédié à la culture automobile célèbre son quart de siècle. Ce salon automobile promet d'être exceptionnel – du moins, c'est ce que suggère l'annonce, attisant notre curiosité. Parmi les temps forts, on peut citer des expositions temporaires remarquables, des événements marquants pour les marques et la présence de personnalités inspirantes de l'histoire de l'automobile et du sport automobile. Nous pouvons donc nous attendre à un spectacle grandiose, des échanges enrichissants avec des légendes de la course, 650 mètres carrés d'espace d'exposition présentant des voitures de course dignes d'un musée, de Mercedes à Porsche, une exposition spéciale intitulée « Les motos de course de l'ère Solitude », les clubs BMW Classic et Type, et bien plus encore.

L'exposition temporaire majeure constitue le cœur émotionnel du salon :

« Hans in Luck – HH 97 »

Dans l'atrium central de l'entrée Est, l'exposition « Hans in Luck – HH 97 » rend hommage à la vie et à l'œuvre de la légende du sport automobile Hans Herrmann. Herrmann fut l'un des plus importants pilotes allemands de l'après-guerre. Il s'est éteint le 9 janvier 2026, à l'âge de 97 ans.

Les passionnés de sport automobile se presseront à cette exposition, qui explore également l'histoire de ce sport.

Herrmann a affronté des légendes telles que Juan Manuel Fangio et Stirling Moss. Par son talent et son pilotage, il a influencé toute une génération de passionnés.

Son plus grand triomphe fut sa victoire aux 24 Heures du Mans en 1970 au volant d'une Porsche 917.

Les pièces les plus importantes de sa carrière de pilote seront exposées dans un espace de 650 mètres carrés, grâce au soutien des musées Mercedes-Benz et Porsche.

L'exposition est conçue et organisée par Tobias Aichele, biographe de Hans Herrmann.

L'histoire du sport moto à l'honneur dans le hall 5 :

« Les motos de course de l'ère Solitude »

Le Club motocycliste général de Leonberg (AMSC) présente ici une exposition exceptionnelle intitulée « Les motos de course de l'ère Solitude », qui retrace le chapitre le plus riche en traditions de l'histoire du sport moto du sud de l'Allemagne.

L'annonce de la présence d'une quarantaine de motos de course historiques, offrant un panorama unique de plus d'un siècle de compétition, ne manquera pas de susciter l'intérêt.

Des premières courses de côte du début du XXe siècle,

• en passant par l'ère des Grands Prix des années 1960,
• jusqu'aux événements cultes modernes comme le Glemseck 101,

l'évolution technique et sportive de la course moto est ici remarquablement documentée. La présentation, qui évoque un circuit, et une voie des stands spécialement aménagée permettent de ressentir l'atmosphère unique du circuit de Solitude.

Un autre temps fort de cette édition anniversaire est la grande présentation des BMW Classic et Type Clubs dans le hall 7.

Les anniversaires de l'histoire de la marque offrent un aperçu fascinant.

À l'honneur :

• 40 ans de la BMW M3,
• 50 ans de la BMW Série 6,
• 60 ans de la BMW 02,
• et 110 ans de BMW.

La présentation est complétée par le 25e anniversaire du BMW Mini Club, avec la mise à l'honneur de Mini classiques.

25 Jahre RETRO CLASSICS in Stuttgart -  Ein Jubiläum für Rennsportfans, Markeninthusiasten, Liebhaber von Garagengold, Automobil- und Motorsportgeschichte

 

Jubiläumsausgabe der RETRO CLASSICS 2026 mit großen Geschichten und starken Emotionen - Los gehts am Donnerstag, 19.02.2026 von 11 Uhr - 19 Uhr (RETRO NIGHT ab 18 Uhr) (Deutsch, English, Italiano, Français)

Stuttgart. Kaum zu glauben vor genau 25 Jahren trafen sich die Oldtimer-, Youngtimer-, Rennwagen, Motorsport- und Classic-Car-Fans und die Aussteller der Automobil- und Motorsportgeschichte zur  ersten RETRO CLASSIC in Stuttgart. Vom 19. bis 22. Februar 2026 feiert diese Messe für Fahrkultur ein VIERTELJAHRHUNDERT. Diese Automobilmesse soll etwas ganz besonderes werden - so die Ankündigung, die neugierig macht. Starke  Akzente sollen außergewöhnliche Sonderschauen, markenprägende Meilensteine und bewegende Persönlichkeiten der Automobil- und Motorsportgeschichte setzen. Freuen wir uns also auf eine Supershow und ausführliche Fachgespräche mit Rennsportlegenden, 650 Quadratmetern Ausstellungsfläche mit musealen Rennwagen von Mercedes bis Porsche, eine Sonderschau namens „Rennmotorräder der Solitude-Ära“ und die BMW Classic & Type Clubs und vieles mehr.

Einen emotionalen Kern der Messe bildet die große Sonderschau

 „Hans im Glück – HH 97“

Im zentralen Atrium am Eingang Ost würdigt die Ausstellung „Hans im Glück – HH 97“ das Lebenswerk der Rennsportlegende Hans Herrmann. Herrmann war einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Rennfahrer in der Nachkriegszeit - am 9. Januar 2026 verstarb er im Alter von 97 Jahren. 

Echte Motor- und Rennsportfans werden zu dieser Sonderschau strömen, denn sie interessiert auch die Rensportgeschichte

Herrmann fuhr gegen Legenden wie Juan Manuel Fangio und Stirling Moss. Er prägte mit seinem Talent und seiner Fahrphysik ganze Generation von Motorsportlern. 

Sein größter Triumph gelang ihm 1970 mit dem Gesamtsieg bei den 24 Stunden von Le Mans auf dem Porsche 917.

Auf 650 Quadratmetern werden mit Unterstützung der Museen von Mercedes-Benz und Porsche die wichtigsten Exponate seines Rennfahrerlebens gezeigt

Die Ausstellung wird kuratiert und organisiert von dem Hans-Herrmann-Biografen Tobias Aichele.

Eine würdige Verabschiedung einer Ikone des internationalen Motorsports.

Motorsportgeschichte auf zwei Rädern steht in Halle 5 im Fokus:

„Rennmotorräder der Solitude-Ära“ 

Der Allgemeine Motorradsport-Club Leonberg e.V. (AMSC) bietet hier eine einmalige Sonderschau mit „Rennmotorrädern der Solitude-Ära“, die das traditionsreichste Kapitel süddeutscher Motorsportgeschichte zusammenfasst.

Die Ankündigung von rund 40 historischen Rennmotorräder, die einen einzigartigen Querschnitt durch mehr als ein Jahrhundert Renngeschehen bieten machen neugierig

• Von den frühen Bergrennen zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts 
• über die Grand-Prix-Zeit der 1960er-Jahre
•  bis hin zu modernen Kultveranstaltungen wie dem Glemseck 101

Hier wird die technische und sportliche Entwicklung des Motorradrennsports eindrucksvoll dokumentiert. Die streckenähnliche Präsentation und eine eigens eingerichtete Boxengasse lassen die Dynamik der Solitude-Rennstrecke räumlich erlebbar werden. 

Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt der Jubiläumsausgabe ist der große Auftritt der BMW Classic & Type Clubs in Halle 7

Die Jubiläen der Marken-geschichte bieten interessante Einblicke 

Im Mittelpunkt stehen 

• 40 Jahre BMW M3, 
• 50 Jahre BMW 6er, 
• 60 Jahre BMW 02 
• sowie 110 Jahre BMW. 

Ergänzt wird der Auftritt durch das 25-jährige Bestehen des BMW Mini Clubs mit klassischen Mini-Fahrzeugen. 

Zudem sehen wir dort ausgewählte Raritäten aus der BMW Sammlung

•  der bekannte BMW Classic Truck mit exklusiven Exponaten
•  sowie Beiträge des BMW Classic Teileservice
•  und des BMW Museums und Archivs mit besonderen Motorenexponaten 

machen den Bereich zu einem Treffpunkt für Markenenthusiasten.

In Halle 10 widmet sich der Automobil-Park Auwärter der Welt historischer Nutzfahrzeuge

 Die Ausstellung zeigt seltene 

• Reisebusse, 
• Lastkraftwagen 
• und Schlepper 

aus rund 70 Jahren Nutzfahrzeuggeschichte. 

Die Entwicklung des gewerblichen Verkehrs  wird ausgiebig anschaulich. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit gilt dem 

• Mercedes O 319 
• historischen Oldtimer-bussen
• und Lkw-Exponaten.

Längst ein Geheimtipp und wie wir hörten, soll es dort auch bald (2026 )wieder eine Motor-Racing-Fotografie-Ausstellung geben!
