Munich. Every visitor to Munich should know this folk festival, the Jakobidult: it is Munich's oldest festival—the traditional Auer Dult. It was held for the first time in 1310. This lovely Munich folk festival, the "Jakobidult," runs from July 25 to August 2, 2026. Each year, around 300 merchants, artists, artisans, food stall operators, and showmen participate in this wonderful Munich festival. In Munich, people enjoy festivals as they come. This "little pre-Wiesn" event takes place in the Au district until August 2, 2026. The Auer Dult is held three times a year—in May, July, and October (see below)! The annual Jakobidult once again features specialty food stalls, beer gardens, and artisans. Visitors of all ages will find refreshment, fun, and entertainment. Featuring a chain swing ride and a Ferris wheel from 1925, bumper cars and a boat swing, a can-toss game, a duck pond game, and shooting galleries.
