Enthronement of the 2025 prince couples - on January 11, 2025 - from 10:30 a.m
Munich. New year, new rulers in Munich! On Saturday, January 11th, 2025 it will be that time again, like every year, the new Narrhalla prince couple Christian IV & Michaela II will be enthroned. The royal couple receives the keys to the city in a solemn ceremony. From then on, they will hold over 200 celebration dates and rule until Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025. In addition to the official carnival prince couple of the state capital Munich, the child and youth prince couple of Narrhalla Johan I & Hannah I. will also be enthroned live at the Rindermarkt in the heart of Munich from 10:30 a.m.

The stage program of the Garden and party atmosphere
There is party music and there are delicacies on tap and from the grill. This year the intronization will take place at the Rindermarkt - close to Marieplatz. Entry is free.
The official carnival prince couple Christian IV & Michaela II of the state capital Munich!
Christian IV. (Christian Deussen) feels at home on stage and writes his own carnival songs such as “We are all human – and 100%” or his song for the coming term “Beste Zeit”, which he will sing live. Carnival in Munich 2025!
Michaela II (Dr. Michaela Hämmerle) has been dancing with the Narrhalla's Prinzengarde since 2019. She awaits her reign with curiosity.
The royal couple receives the key to the city and then they celebrate!
The enthronement is the starting signal for the carnival in Munich, where the carnival prince couple officially receive their insignia for the foolish power, i.e. the cloak, the scepter and the diadem. The most important part of this is the city key, which the city gives out. Afterwards there will be a celebration with the guards and music in the center of Munich until 4 p.m.
Carnival in Munich 2025 - January 11th to March 4th, 2025
The Munich carnival is on November 11th. started at 11 a.m. 11 minutes and will enter its funniest phase from January 11, 2025.
And in the next few months there will be the popular carnival procession of the Damian Knights, the colorful street carnival “Munich foolish” and finally, every year, the traditional highlight of the Munich carnival awaits: the “Dance of the Market Women” on Shrove Tuesday, March 4th, 2025.
During the so-called open-air carnival, “München Narrisch” is celebrated in the city center from February 27th to March 4th on the wildest days in a huge open-air party. Every year the entire pedestrian zone becomes a party zone and people sing, dance and laugh with or without costumes.
