Munich Tip: Sixty years ago, the Beatles played their legendary concert at the Circus Krone—on June 24, 1966. To commemorate that magical "Bravo-Blitz-Tournee"—during which the "Fab Four" performed two shows at the Circus Krone venue—an exhibition titled "60 Years of the Beatles in Munich" will open on June 24, 2026, coinciding with the run of the musical *The Beatles – "All You Need Is Love!"* (July 15–19, 2026) at the Deutsches Theater (Baroque Hall/Auditorium). From June 24 to July 19, the exhibition will delight music fans. It is curated by Herbert Hauke, who runs the Rock Museum in the Olympic Tower (currently closed for an extended period due to construction work). Hauke is displaying Beatles photographs from his personal collection that document the Fab Four's legendary visit to the Circus Krone. Website: deutsches-theater.de

In 1960, four young men named John, Paul, George, and Ringo started out as the band "The Beatles."

Thus began the legendary era of the "Fab Four." The Beatles made music history and created unforgettable hits. The musical biography *All You Need Is Love!* celebrated its world premiere 26 years ago, in the year 2000. It kicked off on the open-air lakeside stage at Lake Chiemsee. Since then, the singers and actors have delighted audiences numbering in the millions.

Now, the major 25th-anniversary tour is arriving in Munich. It is a hit production that tells the story of the Beatles' evolution from a backing band into the world-famous "mop-top" group. The musical tours across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

They sold over a billion records and achieved the highest number of No. 1 albums in pop history. The songwriting duo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney—the most successful of all time—brought global fame to the four lads from Liverpool.
The Beatles' first performance at Hamburg's Star-Club is legendary; it was an event fondly remembered by Tommy Kent—a singer (rock 'n' roll and *Schlager*), actor, painter, and architect from Munich's Schwabing district.

It was here in 1961 that Munich singer and 1960s star Tommy Kent discovered the Beatles. A letter from Paul McCartney, featured in the exhibition "The Fantastic World of Tommy Kent," describes this event (link to article on the art and culture blog).

Hit producer Bernhard Kurz has once again demonstrated his knack for successful productions with this musical

"All You Need Is Love!" serves as a musical tribute to the Beatles—a project that earned hit producer Bernhard Kurz the "Artist Choice Award" for "Best Producer" in Las Vegas.

"All You Need Is Love! – The Beatles Musical" brings over 30 hits to the stage in Munich.

The performers impress with professional live vocals and a striking resemblance to the originals. Their acting talent—transporting the audience at the Deutsches Theater back 60 years during the spoken segments—is sure to captivate viewers. Featuring authentic costumes, video projections, and fantastic music, the Las Vegas-based band "Twist & Shout" demonstrates—through songs like "Help," "Love Me Do," "Yesterday," and "Hey Jude"—that the Beatles and their enduring appeal are immortal. It took less than a decade to go from being a backing band to sparking mass hysteria.
The musical in two acts:

  •     The Beatles' beginnings in Hamburg (1960) as a backing band in strip clubs and pubs
  •     Their first headline concerts
  •     And then, the breakthrough in the States.

In the second part, "Beatlemania":

    Fans in a frenzy
    Beatles fashion
And the spirit of the times

The climax (1970):

The world-famous concert on the rooftop of the Apple Records label in London
    The breakup
    …

But the Beatles myth lives on to this day!

All you need is love!

From July 15th to 19th live in the German Theater
