February 19th - 22nd: 25th RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 in Stuttgart

February 9–22 – RETRO CLASSICS® 2026

RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 in Stuttgart presents the automobile at the intersection of street culture and operational history, brand presentations and motor racing.

Thursday, February 19, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (RETRO NIGHT from 6:00 p.m.) Classic cars and US cars attract car enthusiasts to Stuttgart today, even with winter tires (Deutsch)

Stuttgart – 25 years of Retro Classics. Despite heavy snowfall, RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 opens today. This major automotive trade fair in southern Germany presents everything related to driving culture from February 19–22. Various special exhibitions offer an overview of automotive history. Further information can be found in our article from February 6, 2026: The trade fair for driving culture in Stuttgart: 25 years of RETRO CLASSICS – an anniversary for racing fans, brand enthusiasts, lovers of garage treasures, and automotive and motorsport history. It all starts on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (RETRO NIGHT from 6:00 PM).

Hall 3 showcases, among other things, American automotive culture.

Around 20 vehicles tell the story of legendary trucks, uncompromising dragsters, elegant coupes, and iconic movie cars. From heavy commercial vehicles of the early 1950s to radical racing conversions and style-defining cruisers, the breadth of the US car era is on display.

The exhibits include:

  • a 1952 COE Truck V8, a 1941 Ford Business Coupe Dragster,
  • an original 1931 Ford Model A Speedster from Argentina,
  • and a 1954 Lincoln Capri Hardtop Coupe.

  • A special highlight is a 1949 Mercury, famous as the stunt car from the film "Firm City Cobra."

Original conditions, restored icons and informative steles convey technology, design and the spirit of American street culture.

Also in Hall 3, US car specialist Karl Geiger of Geiger Cars from Munich presents an exclusive special exhibition of modern Corvette icons.

The centerpiece is the new Corvette ZR1 as an uncompromising performance statement.

It is flanked by various Corvette C8 variants, including the

  • Coupé,
  • Convertible,
  • and E-Ray,

as well as other striking ZR1 models.

  • The presentation combines racing DNA with timeless aesthetics and appeals equally to Corvette enthusiasts and lovers of modern high-performance sports cars.

In Hall 5, the Stuttgart Police History Association strikes a more subdued, yet compelling tone.

On display is an authentically staged historical accident scene depicting a traffic accident from decades past. Police and emergency services are already on the scene, portrayed in period uniforms and with meticulous attention to detail. Vehicles, accident debris, a simulated road closure, and typical elements of the traffic environment of that era bring everyday life from earlier times to life. The special exhibition invites visitors to pause and reflect, recounting history in a respectful and dignified manner.

Further anniversary themes will shape the presentation in Hall 7.

Among other things, the 40th anniversary of the Opel Omega A will be celebrated there.

Introduced in 1986, the model set standards in the upper mid-range segment and impressed with its modern technology, aerodynamic design, and high level of driving comfort. Available as a sedan and station wagon, the Omega A became a success story and was named "Car of the Year" in Europe in 1987.

The 60th anniversary of the Opel Rekord C will also be commemorated.

With its famous Coke-bottle design, it became a style-defining icon of the mid-range segment and a symbol of the post-war economic boom years, starting in 1966. Over 1.2 million units were built, making it one of the most popular Opel models of its time.

With this thematic diversity, RETRO CLASSICS® 2026 underscores its ambition to

  • not only exhibit automotive history but to bring it to life in all its facets – from spectacular sports cars to everyday classics and moving historical moments.
