Il Gruppo Volkswagen sviluppò inizialmente l'autobus VW a Wolfsburg nel 1960 per il proprio trasporto interno

Inizialmente l'autobus VW veniva utilizzato solo in fabbrica. Nessuno allora pensava ad una serie di trasportatori. L'azienda ha semplicemente riproposto il telaio scartato di un Maggiolino. Era coperto con pannelli di legno e aveva un'area di carico.

È così che è iniziato tutto. Poi è seguita la storia di successo con i modelli T1, T2, T3 e T4, durata decenni e terminata solo nel 2003.

All'inizio solo un soprannome Bulli o Bully

Quando fu decisa la serie T1, la fabbrica stava cercando un nome. "Bulli" o "Bully" è stato uno dei tanti suggerimenti per dare un nome al nuovo modello. A questo proposito però i diritti sul marchio “Bulldog” erano già stati registrati e sussisteva il rischio di confusione. Con VW Bus è andata così.

I marchi denominativi Bulli e Bully sono stati acquisiti dal gruppo VW solo in occasione del 60° anniversario dell'autobus VW.

Inizia la produzione in serie del Tipo 2 T1

La produzione in serie del Tipo 2 T1 iniziò a Wolfsburg nel marzo 1950. Ecco alcuni dettagli tecnici:

La serie di modelli Bulli dal 1950 al 2003

Il T1 è stato costruito dal 1950 al 1967.
Il T2 dal 1967 al 1979 (furono prodotti complessivamente 2,5 milioni di veicoli)
Il T3 è stato costruito dal 1979 al 1992.
Il T4 è stato completamente ridisegnato. È stato il primo modello a trazione anteriore. Il Bulli è stato ridisegnato dal 1990 al 2003.

La storia di successo della leggendaria serie Bully della VW si è conclusa con il T4. Tutti e quattro i modelli erano disponibili come minibus, camion con pianale e furgone.

Le groupe Volkswagen a initialement développé le bus VW à Wolfsburg en 1960 pour son propre transport interne

Le bus VW n’était initialement utilisé qu’en usine. Personne ne pensait à une série de transporteurs à l’époque. L’entreprise a simplement réutilisé le châssis mis au rebut d’une Beetle. Il était recouvert de panneaux de bois et il y avait une zone de chargement.

C'est comme ça que tout a commencé. Cela a été suivi par l'histoire à succès des modèles T1, T2, T3 et T4, qui a duré des décennies et n'a pris fin qu'en 2003.

Au début juste un surnom de Bulli ou Bully

Lorsque la série T1 a été décidée, l'usine cherchait un nom. "Bulli" ou "Bully" était l'une des nombreuses suggestions pour nommer le nouveau modèle. Cependant, les droits de la marque « Bulldog » avaient déjà été enregistrés à cet effet et il existait un risque de confusion. C'est comme ça que c'est resté avec VW Bus.

La série de modèles Bulli de 1950 à 2003

Le T3 a été construit de 1979 à 1992.
Le T4 a été entièrement repensé. C'était le premier modèle à traction avant. Le Bulli a été redessiné de 1990 à 2003.

De Volkswagen Groep ontwikkelde de VW-bus in Wolfsburg in 1960 aanvankelijk voor eigen intern transport

De VW-bus werd aanvankelijk alleen in de fabriek gebruikt. Niemand dacht toen aan een transporterserie. Het bedrijf hergebruikte simpelweg het afgedankte chassis van een Kever. Die was bedekt met houten panelen en je had een laadruimte.

Zo begon het allemaal. Daarna volgde het succesverhaal met de T1-, T2-, T3- en T4-modellen, dat tientallen jaren stand hield en pas in 2003 ten einde kwam.

In eerste instantie alleen een bijnaam Bulli of Bully

Toen besloten werd tot de T1-serie, zocht de fabriek naar een naam. "Bulli" of "Bully" was een van de vele suggesties voor de naamgeving van het nieuwe model. Hiervoor waren echter al de merkrechten “Bulldog” geregistreerd en bestond er gevaar voor verwarring. Zo bleef het bij VW Bus.

De woordmerken Bulli en Bully werden pas op het 60-jarig jubileum van de VW-bus door de VW Groep overgenomen.

De serieproductie van de Type 2 T1 begon

De serieproductie van de Type 2 T1 begon in maart 1950 in Wolfsburg. Hier zijn een paar technische details:

De Bulli-modelserie van 1950 tot 2003

The Volkswagen Group developed the VW Bus in Wolfsburg in 1960, initially for its own internal transport

The VW Bus was initially used only at the factory. At that time, no one was even thinking about a van series. The company simply converted the decommissioned chassis of a Beetle. It was covered with wooden panels, and they had a loading area.

That's how it all began. The success story followed with the T1, T2, T3, and T4 models, which lasted for decades and only ended in 2003.

Initially just a nickname: Bulli or Bully

Once the T1 series was decided upon, the factory looked for a name. "Bulli" or "Bully" was one of many suggestions for the new model. However, trademark rights to the "Bulldog" had already been registered, and there was a risk of confusion. So the VW Bus remained.

The word marks Bulli and Bully were only acquired by the VW Group on the 60th anniversary of the VW bus.

It all began with series production of the Type 2 T1.

The Bulli model series from 1950 to 2003:

The T1 was built from 1950 to 1967.
