Black Forest Rally: A leisurely drive through the beautiful Black Forest! This vintage car weekend in the scenic Black Forest kicks off on Friday, September 25, with a grand opening event at the Hotel Alte Post in Mülheim, starting at 3:00 PM. The rally itself begins on September 26. Over the course of two full days, the route covers a total distance of well over 450 km, passing the Kaiserstuhl region and the Mummelsee lake. The organizers promise a "two-day adrenaline-filled weekend." Rally participants navigate without GPS, relying instead on maps and roadbooks. The route leads through the "heart of the Black Forest." The B500—recently in local headlines due to the installation of speed cameras to enhance safety—offers a stunningly scenic drive featuring panoramic curves that should not be underestimated.

Munich. Everything for the dachshund! On the second weekend in October, everyone's eyes will be on the dachshunds when the Motorworld announces "On your paws, get set, go!" - including the Carrera SafetyDog! On October 11th and 12th, 2025, Motorworld Munich will also open its doors for the "DogWorld 2025" exhibition. After its successful premiere in 2024, the dog and lifestyle festival will take place here for the second time – the special highlight is the 3rd Munich Dachshund Race powered by Allianz: the largest indoor dachshund race in Germany. And you can immediately take a look at the automobiles on display: there are classic and modern classics, supercars, collector cars, limited editions, bikes and boats and (drum roll) over 30 of the world's most valuable and exclusive vehicle brands, a comprehensive range of automotive service providers and specialised workshops, numerous shops and the famous glass boxes for collector vehicles and much more.

In addition to the animal racing spectacle, there is a diverse festival program with around 150 exhibitors and a mix of shows, information, and hands-on activities.

A special premiere awaits visitors on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.: For the first time, the DogHero – the Dog Cross of Merit – will be awarded. The award recognizes dogs, human-dog teams, and initiatives that sustainably improve the lives of dogs with moving stories, innovative ideas, or their commitment to animal welfare and education.

Prominent Faces & Animal Stars

TV icon Diana Eichhorn, known to many animal lovers from "hundkatzemaus" (VOX), will host the program on the main stage. She is not only the presenter but also the patron of DogWorld and the DachshundRace. On stage, she will accompany talks, panel discussions, and, of course, the award ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.


A special highlight on Saturday at 2 p.m. is dachshund influencer Parma, aka @parma.voll.verdackelt. The miniature wire-haired dachshund, with over 150,000 followers across all channels, has been sharing her "fully dackeled" life with her community since 2020. In a conversation with Diana Eichhorn, her owner Tina offers insights into the life of a "pet influencer" and talks about responsibility and dog welfare in everyday social media life.

Live acts, fashion shows, workshops & hands-on program

DogWorld's diverse program includes numerous workshops and lectures on nutrition, training, and dog health. Cora Czermak and her friends bring dog dancing to the stage and showcase what makes the German national dog dancing team and strong young athletes so special. For those who want to know what dogs will be wearing next winter, the fashion shows are a must-see.


DogYoga is an offering for anyone who would like to try yoga with their four-legged friend. New to the program is the "Allianz Fitness Parcours," where the Munich Dog Therapy Center offers a fitness, exercise, and health program.

Trade Fair with Over 150 Exhibitors: Everything for Dogs

This year's DogWorld will feature a trade fair with over 150 exhibitors from across Germany, including manufacturers, accessory suppliers, food specialists, dog photographers, artists, dog trainers, specialists in animal physiotherapy and rehabilitation, the Munich animal shelter and animal food bank, other animal welfare organizations, and many more.

New this year is the outdoor area, which includes the Holiday Camper Zone

Here, visitors will find everything they need for camping holidays with their dog: motorhomes and campervans, dog-friendly campsites, accessories, and more.

Saturday & Sunday: 3rd Munich Dachshund Race powered by Allianz

A total of 120 dachshunds will compete in thrilling races on the 40-meter-long, non-slip, and weather-independent indoor track in the Dampfdom (Steam Dome) on both days of the festival.

There will be five classes – from the lightweight class starting at 2.5 kg to the inclusion class for seniors and handicapped dachshunds. The field of participants is international.

Luitpold, Germany's fastest dachshund and reigning world champion, will also be there again.

Luitpold completed the so-called Dachshund Mile last year in just 4.4 seconds, setting a record that still stands.

Fun and dog welfare are the focus of the Dachshund Race – all four-legged friends are given a veterinary check-up before starting

For athletes from Munich and the surrounding area, there will be a public dachshund weigh-in at Motorworld Munich on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Spectators are welcome.

Carrera SafetyDog in use for the first time

Carrera's involvement at this year's Dachshund Race ensures additional visibility and professionalism: For the first time, the dachshunds will be starting under a clearly marked Carrera starting arch, underscoring the racing atmosphere on the track.

Carrera is also acting as a timekeeping sponsor. The SafetyDog will also be deployed – a tongue-in-cheek reference to the safety car in motorsports:

It supports orderly procedures, ensures safety on the track, and accompanies start and neutralization situations. Carrera is also organizing a competition for DogWorld visitors.

Dogs First: Dogs Welcome

The new "Dogs First" concept ensures the well-being and safety of canine athletes and visitors with 15 measures that make DogWorld, including the Dachshund Race, a completely dog-friendly experience.

Sociable dogs with a valid rabies vaccination are welcome to attend:

The rolling automobile museum will start and finish in Dresden for the 22nd Sachsen Classic Rally – this popular classic car rally will travel through Saxony and the Ore Mountains.

From August 14th to 16th, 2025, the event will take a journey through time. Today, August 12th, was the accreditation session, and on August 13th, the driver briefing and rally course will take place. This is where classic car owners will become part of automotive history. Dresden. Vintage car rally through Saxony. The 22nd edition of the Saxony Classic Rally starts and ends in Dresden for the first time. The route of the Saxony Classic Rally takes the approximately 160 teams along scenic back roads – they drive to Meissen, see the Lausitzring, and then continue into the Ore Mountains. The Free State of Saxony has a long tradition in vehicle construction: Chemnitz is a famous location in the European Capital of Culture region and will be visited by the rally participants. This is a regularity and reliability rally, in which only cars built before 2003 are permitted – including Italian classic cars such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, or Lancia. Only historically valuable cars are permitted in the regularity rally, i.e., garage gold built before 1993 and selected modern classics built before 2003! Unfortunately, there will be no motorcycle rally in 2025. Participation is only possible in the hourglass class. The accreditation took place today at the Dresden Whisky Manufactory - below is the schedule for the next exciting days of the Saxony Classic Rally.

The Sachsen Classic, which takes place from August 14 to 16, 2025, will once again be driven by prominent figures and will lead through Europe's first winery experience.

Participating in 2025 will be Katarina Witt in her red 1988 VW Golf II GL, actor Ben Dahlhaus driving the classic Polo G40, Benjamin Leuchter, the motorsport professional and brand ambassador, in a second-generation '89 Polo GT, and, as in previous years, Hans-Joachim "Strietzel" Stuck will also be there again – this time in a 1977 VW Derby.

The Volkswagen Group supports the Sachsen Classic, in which around 160 teams participate. It will be a sporty event overall, with the 1990 Volkswagen Golf II Fire and Ice, which the Autostadt in Wolfsburg will be bringing to the start at the 22nd Sachsen Classic Rally, or the Brazilian brown 1979 Beetle 1303 Cabriolet.

Vintage car fans will be amazed as a 1927 Bugatti or a 1925 Ford drives past them, its chrome glinting in the sun. A 1936 Wanderer convertible or the rare Melkus sports car (the RS1000, a production model built by former racing driver Heinz Melkus in the GDR, and features a gullwing) will roam the baroque grounds of Wackerbarth Castle alongside stunning Beetles and polished Trabants.

On August 14, visitors can experience these and other legendary historic vehicles at Wackerbarth Castle from 12 noon to 1:45 pm with free admission. The picturesque setting of Europe's first winery experience will delight wine and vintage car enthusiasts. 

Stage Overview

August 14-16, 2025 - Sachsen Classic 2025

The rally covers three stages, covering approximately 600 km, through Saxony. On Thursday, Meissen will be visited, and on Saturday, Chemnitz. A highlight will be the rally participants' drive with their amazing cars around the Lausitzring on Friday – including the Grand Prix circuit and banked corner. The route leads through Wackerbarth Castle and the Elbe Valley. Along the way, each team must complete various special stages with their vehicle... (see below!)

Thursday, August 14: Start at the Alberthafen port in Dresden, via Radebeul, Coswig, Niederau, and Diesbar-Seußlitz to Meissen. Destination: The Transparent Factory

Friday, August 15: Approximately 240 km via Radeberg, Schönfeld Castle, the Lausitzring, and the F60 Visitor Center to the day's destination, Alberthafen Dresden-Friedrichstadt.

Saturday, August 16: Stage into the Ore Mountains with stops in Mittweida, Chemnitz, Augustusburg, and Freiberg. Finish line at the Terrassenufer Dresden.

The Golf II Fire and Ice made a statement in the early 1990s.

The classic Golf II Fire and Ice, sporting a metallic purple paint finish, will be competing at the Sachsen Classic 2025. Its sporty, distinctive features are familiar to Golf fans, as the special model quickly achieved cult status. Volkswagen, in collaboration with the performance sportswear brand BOGNER FIRE+ICE, part of the Munich-based luxury sports and fashion company BOGNER, combined the lifestyle of fashion and mobility for an entire generation. The classic, the vehicle from the Zeithaus collection at the Autostadt, then served as the stylistic and conceptual template for the current, new ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE... a few decades later, only and then as a modern, contemporary, and fully electric special model.

A little INFO about a limited-edition special model from Wolfsburg: The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is currently being launched in a limited series of 1,990 units as a tribute to the birth year of the original Golf II FIRE and ICE. Here, classic car dreams come true again...

 

The Volkswagen Group is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the VW Polo.

The Wolfsburg-based company is presenting another selection of iconic vehicles at the rally, including the Polo from the first model to the Polo G40.

Distinctive design and open body: the Beetle represents the pure spirit of an entire generation.

The classic VW model is and remains the Golf, which the Autostadt will be bringing to the start of the rally – but things get even better with the classic Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Cabriolet from 1979 – the rare Brazilian brown color is a striking feature.

This classic car and vintage car meeting will take place this weekend - August 9th and 10th, 2025 - at Tegernsee. Gmund am Tegernsee has made its large Volksfestplatz available for the event. To be more precise: There will be two classic car meets for automobiles and classic machines on two wheels: the Youngtimer meet for vehicles, i.e., youngtimers from 1970-1999, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and the Classic Car meet for vehicles built before 1970 on Sunday, August 10, 2025. At the classic car meet in beautiful Gmund on the idyllic Tegernsee, you can marvel at cars and motorcycles built before 1970 and from 1970 to 1992 this weekend. The finest garage gold will be on display in Gmund am Tegernsee, and classic car enthusiasts and onlookers can marvel at a tour around the lake and through the meadows and forests of the beautiful Oberland region.

Last August, 500 vehicles were seen at Lake Tegernsee, attracted to Gmund by the Tegernsee Valley Vintage Car Club.

This popular gathering of vintage car enthusiasts has been held here for 22 years, brimming with cars and motorcycles at the fairgrounds in Gmund. Vintage car fans enjoy the quiet whir of a six-cylinder Mercedes and the musical reng-deng-deng of a small two-stroke Trabant.

This year, participants will once again be coming from all over Bavaria, the Palatinate, and Austria in their magnificent vehicles, some of which are over 100 years old, to the idyllic vintage car event in the beautiful Tegernsee Valley.

• Classic car meetup starting at 8:00 a.m.
• Departure at 1:30 p.m.
• Registration is also available on-site
• limited to 75 vehicles

The participating vehicles will be officially presented to classic car fans and enthusiasts at the fairgrounds before the start of each tour.

The tour starts from the fairgrounds in Louisenthal, heads towards Miesbach, then turns left to Wall and continues to Warngau. From there, the route continues towards Krottenthal and continues via the Kammerloher Kreisel (roundabout) into the beautiful Finsterwald and back to Gmund.

Culinary delights complement the classic car experience

On both days, there will be white sausages in the morning, for example. The afternoon will be sweeter with homemade cake served with coffee. Additional food will be available at the food truck throughout the day.

Nürburgring Classic: Three days of motorsport racing series and special races

At the Nürburgring, the Grand Prix circuit, including the Nordschleife, will become a hotspot for historic motorsport enthusiasts for a weekend during the ADAC Nürburgring Classic for classic and modern cars.

Nürburgring - EIFEL. Anyone walking through Munich these days and strolling along the back of the Bayerischer Hof Hotel will discover original motorsport photographs by Werner Eisele in the Stephen Hoffman Gallery. As a racing driver and photographer, he met the who's who of motorsport at all of Europe's racetracks and, among other places, photographed major victories at the Nürburgring. He was up close with his camera during starts, pit stops, and sensational lap records. Anyone who wants to relive the sound of the engines and the thrill of the race should head to the ADAC Nürburgring Classics next weekend, June 13-15, 2025. There, the classic cars of motor racing will compete in small races and the Grand Prix track and Nordschleife will be enlivened by fast vintage and classic cars. The many decades of motorsport, presented by Werner Eisele in his illustrated book "Motor Racing Photography," will be brought back to life at the Nürburgring. Incidentally, the "Nürburgring Classic" race event is the only authentic successor to the legendary opening race of 1927.

Highlights of the Nürburgring Classic

In individual races, Formula cars from the Boss GP racing series and the Golden Era touring car series will compete with a large field of starters. The same applies to pre-war vehicles from the historic paddock or FHR series. With the Battle of the Dwarves and the Youngtimer Trophy, spectators, experts, and motorsport fans will get their money's worth in the Eifel region.

Excellent races, regularity runs/GLPs, and experience runs on the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit have been announced.

Not to mention the Prewars – the pre-war starters – who are also expected in large numbers.

The Vintage Meeting brings international participants back in style to the legendary, old paddock from 1927.

There's also a musical evening program for a fantastic end to the day after each race event.

The dealer areas attract fans to the "Fashion District," where everything from fashion to accessories is centered around the theme of "classic cars." The dealer tents are located in the Grand Prix paddock, between the two main roads.

Happy Birthday Bulli! The VW Bus turns 75 - Under the title "From Samba to Stromer," the Autostadt celebrates the Bulli at the Zeithaus in Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg. Happy Birthday Bulli! In 1950, it was a "symbol of the economic miracle." Every classic car enthusiast knows it or has even driven one. It all started as a small bus for work at the VW factory in Wolfsburg. But then, when it went into series production, the fan base grew rapidly. The Flower Power generation enjoyed the Samba, the Camper, and everything that came after it. Now, over seven decades have passed, and the bus racer has changed, but it still finds fans. The legendary VW bus has transported us, goods, and, as a small caravan, even vacationers to holiday destinations on the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, or the Baltic Sea. It's a legendary 75th anniversary, hosted by the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. A journey through time features selected VW bus models – from the air-cooled T1 with its many windows to the all-electric, compact ID. Buzz. The following VW bus photographs were taken in Munich at the legendary classic car gathering on the Theresienwiese and are included in this article as symbolic images.

The Bulli models come from the Autostadt collection and from the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Classic Cars inventory

The Bulli has changed, but its character has remained the same, the one that Bulli enthusiasts expect. Because, as we've also learned: every model was unusually new in its time, but our viewing habits quickly became GUTFREUND with the slight model changes.

The exhibition features the following Bulli models:

• Volkswagen Type 2 T1 "Sinalco" (1950)

This is the second oldest surviving Bulli in the world and thus a true highlight of the exhibition.

• Volkswagen Type 2 T1 "Samba" (1964)

With 23 windows, a panoramic roof, and aluminum trim strips...

• Volkswagen T2 Westfalia Camper (1972)

The T2 Camper with Westfalia conversion - a favorite of independent travelers.

• Volkswagen T3 "California" (1989)

With this iconic design, it marked the beginning of a new era of travel.

• Volkswagen T4 Multivan "PanAmericana" (1999)

A true adventure vehicle: In 1999, it drove the legendary Pan-American Highway – 22,880 kilometers from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego in a whopping 15 days.

• Volkswagen T5 Kombi 4MOTION "Dakar Support Vehicle" (2006)

...you know it from the Dakar Rally – roll cage, rally seats, and special chassis. A testament to the van's off-road capabilities.

• Volkswagen T6 Multivan Business (from 2015)

Luxury with a conference table, leather seats, and ambient lighting for meetings.

• Volkswagen T2 Electric (1972)

A pioneer of electric mobility: the T2 with a swappable battery system, 22 hp, and a range of 80 kilometers.

• Volkswagen ID. Buzz (from 2022)

The ID. Buzz is a complete reboot of the Bulli, with 204 hp and a range of 423 kilometers. For the #BULLILOVEstories marketing tour, an ID. Buzz traveled over 120,000 kilometers through 41 countries.
