Viktualienmarkt in Munich with Restaurants

 Munich: Dining around the Viktualienmarkt

Visit to the restaurants on Munich's Viktualienmarkt - the large, traditional Viktualienmarkt in the heart of Munich's old town

Viktualienmarkt with Schrannenhalle and small restaurants  (GERMAN, ITALIAN, FRENCH)

Munich. The city center is a wonderful place to stroll and feast. There are cozy bars and even beer gardens everywhere, like the Viktualienmarkt. Here we also find some cozy restaurants where you can have a quick meal every now and then. If you take a tasting tour of the year-round, famous city center market, you will get to know many specialties. The dishes, vegetables and fruits on offer are very decoratively arranged at the numerous market stalls. Just an olive or a pickle on your hand or a freshly squeezed juice, everything is possible. But you can also sit comfortably in a restaurant - you have free choice here! In the alleys around the Viktualienmarkt, in addition to the Schrannenhalle, there are many restaurants with delicious food.

For example, there is the famous fish Witte

The fishmonger's bistro serves fresh fish and deliciously prepared seafood. Whether oysters, lobster or the famous fish soup, you can recommend everything here. So you should reserve a table or drop by spontaneously after waiting a while. With daily meals between 15 and 30 euros, there is something for everyone.

The well-known Munich: soup kitchen

The Munich soup kitchen serves freshly prepared soups every day at the Viktualienmarkt. Another pea soup, an old Bavarian potato soup or an exotic carrot-coconut-ginger soup? Here is something for everyone!

Then there is the little ox roaster

At the Ochsenbrater, for example, you can get an ox roll on your hand or in the restaurant. How about fried potatoes or Munich potato salad, meatballs, meatloaf or bratwurst and an organic beer or wine. Prices range between 6.50 and 12 euros depending on the dish.

The well-attended “Café Nymphenburg Sekt”

There is always something going on! In Munich, many people want to see and be seen, chat and raise a glass. It's that time again for seasonal dishes - currently this is asparagus. There is a pasta menu and a fine selection of cheeses. You can dine deliciously here with dishes ranging from 8 to 12 euros.

And then there is “Munich’s smallest restaurant”

Here you can always find delicious Bavarian delicacies such as cream slices with spaetzle, sauerkraut with bratwurst and also freshly prepared potato pancakes or, as it is called in Munich, Reiberdatschi.
