BOCKHOLM – Niedersachsen. Es ist wieder soweit! Zum 43. Mal startete Europas größter Oldtimer- und Teilemarkt. Über 1000 Aussteller werden von Sammlern, Schraubern, Fans und Neugierigen besucht. Es wird gefachsimpelt und: hier findet man eigentlich alles, um seinen Oldtimer wieder fit zu kriegen. Auf fast 200.000 Quadratmetern und dazu noch in einer idyllischen Parklandschaft gelegen wird gezeigt, wie die Geschichte der Mobilität gelebt wird, denn – Trommelwirbel: es werden mehr als 6.000 historische Fahrzeuge an diesem Wochenende erwartet. Wer zurzeit in Niedersachsen weilt, sollte sich das nicht entgehen lassen. Neben klassischen Automobilen finden sich hier auch Youngtimer, historische LKWs, Nutzfahrzeuge, geliebte und gelebte Traktoren, Motorräder, Mopeds oder auch Roller aller Epochen der Mobilitätsgeschichte.

Sonntag, 14. Juni 2026: Bockhorner Oldtimermarkt mit Friesland-Rallye

Gute Luft, gutes Wetter und eine entspannte Ausfahrt quer durch die grüne, frische, friesische Landschaft. Das ist ein besonderes Highlight des Wochenendes:

Am Sonntag geht es zur Friesland-Rallye bei der 120 Fahrzeuge, die vor 1980 auf die Straße kamen teilnehmen. Die Zuschauer werden begeistert sein … und die Fahrer erst!!!

Historic Motorsport: The first Legends Grand Prix at the Salzburgring will be held from October 3rd to 5th, 2025

Salzburg. It all starts tomorrow! The first Legends Grand Prix at the Salzburgring will be held from October 3rd to 5th, 2025, and 150 historic vehicles from the 1920s to the early 1990s are expected. They will delight classic car enthusiasts on the track and in special exhibitions. The organizer emphasized in advance: "The response to the announcement of the Legends Grand Prix proves that this type of event has been missing in Europe," explained "mastermind" Achim Althammer. In addition to the historic racing and sports cars from eight decades, some of which are unique, the family-friendly offering will delight participants and visitors. The following highlights from racing and classic car history are expected:

• Porsche 356 B Carrera GS/GT "Dreikantschaber" (1963),
• a 908/02 Spyder from the late 1960s/early 1970s,
• the 1987 Le Mans-winning Porsche 962 C "Rothmans" –
• and, looking ahead, a 997 GT3 R Hybrid concept car.

Austrian racing driver Klaus Bachler has been announced as the prominent "chauffeur." Porsche will present, among other things, a 1962 Type 804 Formula 1 as a static contribution to the exhibition.

A rarely seen "tidbit" comes from Opel's racing history:

The legendary "Jumbo," the Steinmetz Commodore from the 1970s, was considered a true "monster"—no wonder, given its six-liter eight-cylinder Chevrolet engine (from the then Opel Diplomat) producing over 500 hp and weighing just under 1020 kilograms. The Opel earned its nickname "Jumbo," inspired by the Boeing 747, because of its "snowplow" front end, striking fenders, and rear wing. Rüsselsheim-based tuner Klaus Steinmetz gave the "Jumbo" a top speed of over 300 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The car was driven by Peter Hoffmann in the Superstock class of the Interseries in 1974. However, this class was discontinued in 1975. Oliver Steinmetz maintains the company's history, has resurrected the "Jumbo" with the help of the mechanics of that time, and is showing it running for the first time at the Legends Grand Prix at the Salzburgring.

Special Topic: Niki Lauda's First World Championship Title 50 Years Ago

As this year marks the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda's first Formula 1 championship, a Lauda bust will be unveiled in Niki's hometown of the 1970s and 1980s in cooperation with the municipality of Hof prior to the Legends Grand Prix.

At the Legends Grand Prix, various original cars of the three-time world champion, who passed away in 2019, will be presented to the public.

The highlight will be the 1975 Ferrari 312 T.

InterClassics January 16th to 19th, 2025 - The Ferrari 250 SWB was voted the audience favorite for Maastricht by classic car fans

Maastricht - January 16th to 19th, 2025: The classic car year begins in January, when the first classic car meetings sweeten the wintery start of the year for fans. The next classic car attraction is the "Interclassics in Maastricht", which opens for the 30th time from January 16th to 19th, 2025. At the 30th InterClassics Maastricht from January 16th to 19th, 2025, visitors were allowed to choose between 100 predetermined classic cars for their favorite classic cars or super sports cars. And how could it be otherwise: the Ferrari 250 SWB won! 300 national and international exhibitors are expected. At the Maastricht InterClassics trade fair, private individuals and dealers present their classics from automotive history. Technical discussions, spare parts, advice and literature complement the presentation and the “TopMobiel” event, where the most beautiful classic automobiles are presented at the Grand Prix Classics.

Happy New Year classic car fans!!! Look forward to the Beetle meeting in Herford, the Interclassics in Maastricht, the Bremen Classic Motorshow in January and the fact that the BMW Z3 (1995 series) is getting its H license plate this year

January 2025: The classic car year begins in January, when the first classic car meetings sweeten the wintery start of the year for fans. The year begins on the weekend of January 11th and 12th with the big VW Beetle and veterans winter meeting, which is well attended every year at the freight station in Herford. The same will probably be the case at the "Interclassics in Maastricht", which invites you to take part from January 16th to 19th. And finally, January 2025 ends with the great “Bremen Classic Motorshow” from January 31st to February 2nd at the exhibition center in Bremen. The New Year will offer many meetings for classic car enthusiasts and the classic car museums and collections always invite you to visit them. Oh yes, something else important for owners of cars built in 1995: the H license plate beckons here!!!

The BMW Z3 receives its H license plate

Our friend in Berlin took part in a competition and won a Z3 convertible, the same BMW that James Bond, alias 007, drove in the film "GoldenEye" (as a 1.9-liter four-cylinder with 140 hp).

Good news for our friend: the very well-maintained and loved Z3 from 1995 will be able to adorn itself with an H license plate! The car becomes a classic with vintage car status!
