Munich old town. As part of Munich's city birthday, around 100 artists will once again exhibit their hand-made objects or produce them on site. As a visitor you can stroll from Odeonsplatz through Theatinerstrasse, Residenzstrasse and Weinstrasse to Sendlinger Strasse through a small village, watch and buy. Sculptures, valuable objects, useful everyday items, fashion such as sewn bags or wooden toys and much more are on sale here. Gifts or decorative and everyday items from artisan hands are something special.

The artisans' range of goods invites you to weekend shopping in Munich's old town

 

... because in addition to jewelry, there are also felted items, sewn items, sculptures made of stone, metal or wood, ceramics, pottery or clothing and accessories made of leather. And while Munich's old town becomes an adventure mile with music and shows, at the end of the artisan village at Sendlinger Tor you can relax, enjoy and have a little something to eat or drink in a kind of quiet island with deck chairs.

The 866th city founding festival of the Bavarian capital Munich will take place this year on Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. (GERMAN, French)

Munich. IT WILL BE CELEBRATED!!! Everywhere in the old town at Odeonsplatz, Wittelsbacherplatz, Marienplatz, Residenzstraße and Alten Hof up to Max-Joseph-Platz, Rindermarkt and Sendlinger Straße, city visitors can expect live music, a craft market, delicacies stalls and beer gardens in June. Music stage at Marienplatz - Weißwurst is a cultural asset in Bavaria!!!

 The visitor and resident of Munich will find a large stage at Marienplatz including a typical beer garden directly in front of the town hall. Here visitors enjoy Bavarian beer, Munich delicacies and celebrate with Bavarian music, rock and pop! At Wittelsbacherplatz not far from Odeonsplatz

A 50 meter high Ferris wheel with 36 closed gondolas will be available here. And with the Munich dance schools there will be a spectacular dance party with shows on the huge open-air dance floor. Visitors can learn the most important dance steps in a workshop.

Brienner Straße becomes a sports mile

The sports offerings range from balance games to wheelchair netball. There are small-field football and soccer options.

There are the popular show workshops here, in which craft businesses from the Munich guilds show what roofers, metal workers, carpenters and other trades can do. Anyone who will soon be finishing school can find out about training here, etc. The crafts village is open on Saturday, June 8th, from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, June 9th, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

857. GEBURTSTAG! 1158-2015 - Die bayerische Landeshauptstadt feiert ihr Stadtgründungsfest: immerhin 857 Jahre. Zwei Tage Brauchtum, Musik und Tanz in der ganzen Altstadt. Dazu das Handwerkerdorf am Odeonsplatz, das irisch-bayerische Fest am Rindermarkt oder Kunsthandwerk und Ritterspiele am Marienhof.
