Loriot was an honorary citizen of Münsing and he was often seen in Ammerland on Lake Starnberg

Memory of the Graf and Loriot bakery

 

Starnberg Lake near Munich. LORIOT, whose noble name was Vicco von Bülow (1923-2011), lived on Lake Starnberg for a long time. Ammerland was his home. The Berlin-born illustrator and humorist Loriot soon moved to Munich and finally to the community of Münsing on Lake Starnberg. Here Loriot sat in the romantic garden, mostly hidden behind a peaked cap/cap and a scarf, to enjoy the delicious fish from the court fishing master Sebald. Whenever we stop by there, we inevitably think of the grand master of dry humor. His pugs were always there because, according to Loriot: "A life without a pug is possible. But it's pointless."

Film location: Graf Bakery and Rattlinger Bakery in Ammerland

And he bought his rolls in the Graf bakery and yes, it's true, he signed the tiles in his favorite baker's bakery. - Today scenes from "Hubert without Staller" are playing here - the bakery is renamed Rattlinger every time for the show. Film location pilgrims and fans often came here and were quickly convinced by the high quality of the master baking art. The crime show has made the Graf bakery, which has now unfortunately closed (after several generations of master bakers) due to a lack of staff, known nationwide.

There used to be a jetty for the Starnberger See shipping company when traveling to Ammerland

A small drawback for the journey: unfortunately the jetty in Ammerland was removed a few years ago, so that the Starnberger See-Schifffahrt will no longer travel to this particularly romantic place on the lake. Locals and guests will miss this journey!

Count von Pocci, the inventor of the Punch and Judy show, also lived in Ammerland

The Kasperl Count, whose monument can be found in Münsing at the school, lived here in his beautiful castle, which unfortunately cannot be visited.

LORIOT's drawings, films and books are still well-known classics today

His humor will surely delight generations to come. Whether it's about leisure sports, Christmas at the Hoppenstedts, the famous piano of the aunt from America, Odipussi or Papa ante portas, Loriot's humor is immediately present to connoisseurs just by hearing the title.

Loriot published numerous popular books with the Swiss Diogenes Verlag, which are still popular classics.

Loriot's "Men in the Bath" have even been brought life-size to Münsinger Platz am Bach

With the Loriot Fountain in the shape of that same bathtub, a worthy monument was erected to the honorary citizen of the community of Münsing on Lake Starnberg. The two men sit in the tub and from time to time in the summer they spit a stream of water, but it doesn't hit. Or is it?

LORIOT, the master of humor and the creator of these characters, would have liked it if visitors excitedly asked: And where is the duck?

Loriot war Ehrenbürger von Münsing und man sah ihn oft in Ammerland am Starnberger See

Erinnerung an Bäckerei Graf und Loriot

 

Starnberger See. LORIOT, der mit adeligem Namen Vicco von Bülow (1923-2011) hieß, lebte lange am Starnberger See. Ammerland war sein Zuhause. Den in Berlin geborenen Zeichner und Humoristen Loriot zog es bald nach München und schließlich in die Gemeinde Münsing an den Starnberger See. Hier saß Loriot im romantischen Garten, zumeist versteckt hinter einer Schirmmütze/Kappe und einem Schal, um den köstlichen Fisch des Hoffischerei-Meisters Sebald zu genießen. Immer wenn wir dort einkehren, denken wir unweigerlich an den Großmeister des trockenen Humors. Seine Möpse waren immer dabei, denn so Loriot: "Ein Leben ohne Möspe ist möglich. Aber sinnlos".

Bäckerei Graf und Bäckerei Rattlinger in Ammerland

Und in der Bäckerei Graf kaufte er seine Semmel und ja, es stimmt, er signierte die Kacheln in der Backstube seines Lieblingsbäckers. - Heute spielen hier Szenen von "Hubert ohne Staller" - für die Sendung wird die Bäckerei jedes Mal in Rattlinger umbenannt. Drehort-Pilger und Fans fanden sich hier immer wieder ein und wurden kurzerhand von der hohen Qualität der Meister-Backkunst überzeugt. Die Krimi-Sendung hat die Bäckerei Graf, die nun (nach mehreren Generationen an Bäckermeistern) leider auch - mangels Personal - geschlossen wurde, überregional gekannt gemacht.

Für die Anreise nach Ammerland gab es früher einen Bootssteg für die Starnberger See-Schifffahrt

Ein kleines Manko für die Anreise: leider wurde der Bootssteg von Ammerland vor einigen Jahren entfernt, so dass die Starnberger See-Schifffahrt diesen besonders romantischen Ort am See leider nicht mehr anfahren wird. Einheimische und Gäste werden diese Anreise vermissen!

In Ammerland lebte auch Graf von Pocci, der Erfinder des Kasperle-Theaters

Der der Kasperl Graf, sein Denkmal findet sich in Münsing an der Schule, lebte hier in seinem schönen Schloss, das leider auch nicht besichtigt werden kann.

LORIOTs Zeichnungen, Filme und Bücher sind heute noch bekannte Klassiker 

Sein Humor wird sicherlich  noch Generationen erfreuen. Ob es um den Freizeitsport, die Weihnacht bei Hoppenstedts, das berühmte Klavier der Tante aus Amerika, Odipussi oder Papa ante portas geht, Loriots Humor ist den Kennern allein beim hören des Titels sofort präsent.

Loriot veröffentlichte zahlreiche beliebte Bücher beim Schweizer Diogenes Verlag, welche immer noch gerne gelesene Klassiker sind.

Loriots "Herren im Bad" haben es in Lebensgröße sogar auf den Münsinger Platz am Bach gebracht

Mit dem Loriot-Brunnen in Form eben jener Badewanne wurde dem Ehrenbürger der Gemeinde Münsing am Starnberger See ein würdiges Denkmal gesetzt. Die beiden Herren sitzen in der Wanne und von Zeit zu Zeit spucken sie im Sommer einen Wasserstrahl, der aber nicht trifft. Oder doch?

Es hätte LORIOT, dem Meister des Humors, dem Schöpfer jener Figuren gefallen, wenn Besucher erregt fragen: Und wo ist die Ente?
