We are Europe: “It only works together!” - The state capital Munich reminds us of the values of the European Union and shows this with color, music and sport

Munich. “Europe Day” takes place on May 9th, when the founding and values of the European Union are commemorated in the Bavarian capital. Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter and the Munich City Council support the lighting of the New Town Hall in European colors: when darkness falls, the front of the building on Marienplatz is illuminated in blue and yellow and also with an interestingly animated EU flag. The Munich Olympic Tower and the BMW Museum will also have EU lighting above the roofs of the Bavarian capital. Since May 1st, the city has been displaying EU flags at the town hall and central squares in Munich. An EU flag will also be raised at the Bavarian State Opera on May 9th. Good opportunity for rare Munich photos with European flags!!! The Giro di Monaco 2024 – takes place on May 12th from 10 a.m
Under the motto “It only works together!”, on May 12, 2024 from 10 a.m. the organizer “Bellevue di Monaco” (information at: bellevuedimonaco.de) will turn the Munich Old Town Ring into a unique cross-country skiing route, a walking mile or even just a strolling route.
This year's Giro di Monaco charity run will take place on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
The starting line-up with supporting program starts at 10:00 a.m. and the field of runners will start with the starting signal at 11:00 a.m. Mayor Dieter Reiter has taken over the patronage of the Giro di Monaco and invites you to run, roll or just stroll around the old town ring with him...
The aim is to send a sporting example of democracy, which forms the basis for an open society. Under the funny motto “Demonstration through perspiration!”, Munich is cosmopolitan, sporty and of course - as is always the case in Bavaria - also in a good mood!
The Long Night of Music will take place on May 11, 2024 at various locations
During the “Long Night of Music” we will meet thousands of people and musicians and bands who bring different styles of music LIVE to the state capital. There are exciting and very unusual venues: in bookstores, our city's clubs, cinemas, museums, churches and also in savings banks as well as in cafés and many Bavarian taverns.
